Overview

With a great movepool, Speed tier, Attack stat, and ability, Mega Lopunny is a powerful force in the metagame. Good STAB moves in High Jump Kick, Giga Impact, and Flail as well as Fake Out to disrupt Sturdy, Disguise, and Multiscale users allows Lopunny to cover a lot of threats. Mega Lopunny's great Speed tier allows it to outspeed most threats, only being outsped by Pheromosa and Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele and Porygon-Z. A solid Attack stat enables Lopunny to KO most threats with the combination of Fake Out and another attack. Mega Lopunny's ability, Scrappy, is useful for beating Ghost-types like Mimikyu and Aegislash. All this allows Lopunny to beat top-tier threats such as non-Choice Scarf Kyurem-B, Tapu Koko, Dragonite, and Charizard, barring bulky Mega Charizard X. However, Lopunny loses to most bulky attackers that can take the combination of Fake Out + Giga Impact, High Jump Kick, or Flail, such as Magearna, Mega Metagross, and Mega Blastoise, since its frailty makes it take huge amounts of damage from any hit. Lopunny is also walled by most bulky foes like Mega Slowbro and Mega Venusaur. Lastly, Mega Lopunny's frailty makes it easy bait for even faster attackers like +1 Mega Blaziken, Choice Scarf Kyurem-B, and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z.

Moves

Fake Out breaks Sturdy, Dragonite's Multiscale, and Mimikyu's Disguise and provides valuable chip damage on foes. Giga Impact is a really powerful STAB attack, capable of OHKOing most threats after Fake Out. High Jump Kick is a secondary STAB move and hits Pokemon like Kyurem-B, Aegislash, and Snorlax. Ice Punch is a decent coverage move and can KO most Dragonite variants after Fake Out, allows Lopunny to beat Garchomp, and can beat some Landorus-T variants.

Set Details

Maximum Attack and Speed investment maximizes Lopunny's offensive capabilities. A Jolly nature takes advantage of Mega Lopunny's great Speed tier, allowing it to outspeed foes like Greninja and Mega Gengar. Alternatively, an Adamant nature gives Mega Lopunny a much higher chance of beating Landorus-T as well as other Pokemon such as bulky Kyurem-B. Scrappy after Mega Evolving lets Mega Lopunny hit Ghost-types, in turn letting it beat Mega Gengar, Mimikyu, and Aegislash.

Usage Tips

Bring out Lopunny when predicting the opponent to use a Pokemon like Icium Z Kyurem-B or Tapu koko. Be wary, though, that some Kyurem-B variants are bulky enough to survive the combination of Fake Out and High Jump Kick. In most cases, use Fake Out first, following it up with the appropriate attack. This attack is usually Giga Impact, since it has the most power against neutral targets. Avoid bringing out Lopunny against faster threats like Pheromosa and potential Choice Scarf users like Porygon-Z and Pokemon that are too bulky for Mega Lopunny to break, like Magearna. Use Lopunny to scare out fast, offensive, frail Pokemon such as Mega Gengar and Tapu Koko for teammates to take advantage of.

Team Options

Slower offensive Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados and Mega Pinsir appreciate Lopunny beating faster threats like Tapu Koko. Mega Pinsir can also beat Mega Venusaur for Lopunny in return. Bulky Mega Charizard X can deal with bulky Steel-types like Magearna, Mega Aggron, and Mega Mawile, which Lopunny has trouble against. Tapu Koko deters Gyarados and Mawile from coming in; physical Tapu Koko and Mega Lopunny can also both lure in Magearna for Tapu Koko to take out. Tapu Koko also appreciates Mega Lopunny beating most Dragonite variants and taking on some Sturdy users like Magnezone and Golem.

Substitute + Flail

Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Flail
- Fake Out
- High Jump Kick

Set Comments

Moves

Substitute, after four uses, puts Lopunny at a very low amount of HP and gives Flail maximum power. It also protects Lopunny from status moves like Leech Seed and Will-O-Wisp and can scout for potential Z-Moves. Flail has 200 Base Power when Lopunny is very low on HP and is capable of OHKOing most threats after Fake Out damage. Fake Out breaks Sturdy, Multiscale, and Disguise on Magnezone, Dragonite, and Mimikyu and also gets useful chip damage on other threats. High Jump Kick is a good Fighting-type STAB attack that hits Pokemon like Snorlax, Magnezone, and Aegislash.

Set Details

Maximum Attack investment gives Mega Lopunny lots of power. Maximum Speed investment with a Jolly nature allows Mega Lopunny to outspeed almost every threat in the metagame besides Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele and Porygon-Z and some unboosted threats like Pheromosa. Scrappy is a useful post-Mega ability, as Lopunny would otherwise be walled by Ghost-types such as Mimikyu and Mega Gengar.

Usage Tips

It is best to bring out Lopunny when predicting the opposition to use a fast and frail Pokemon like Mega Gengar. Lopunny should also be picked against certain bulky Pokemon attempting to take advantage of Mega Lopunny, such as Mega Venusaur and Mega Gyarados. Substitute should almost always be used repeatedly until Lopunny can no longer use it, giving Flail maximum Base Power. However, Substitute doesn't need to be used against Pokemon High Jump Kick is more useful against, like Snorlax, Porygon-Z, and Magnezone. Fake Out should be used first against most Pokemon to get chip damage and to break Sturdy, Multiscale, and Disguise; don't use Fake Out against Garchomp, though, because Rough Skin damage will reduce Flail's overall power once Lopunny can no longer make more Substitutes. Whimsicott can also lock Lopunny into Fake Out with Encore, and Mimikyu can use Protect to block it. Avoid sending Lopunny out against priority users such as Mega Pinsir, Donphan, and Dragonite, as they can easily KO Lopunny when it's low on HP after using Substitute. Similarly, avoid bringing Lopunny into faster threats like Pheromosa and Mega Blaziken, since its advantage lies in its Speed tier allowing it to use Substitute before being attacked.

Team Options

Both Mega Charizard Y and Mega Charizard X can deal with Steel-types like Mega Mawile and Magearna that beat Mega Lopunny. Strong one-time hitters like Greninja, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Pinsir appreciate Mega Lopunny beating Sturdy and Disguise users like Magnezone and Mimikyu. In return, Mega Pinsir and Mega Charizard Y can deal with Mega Venusaur for Lopunny. Bulkier Pokemon like Mega Aggron can take on the priority users such as Dragonite and Donphan that threaten Lopunny. Strong wallbreakers like Tapu Lele and Donphan can take on bulky foes that Lopunny struggles against, like Mega Venusaur and Magearna.

Strategy Comments

Other Options

Encore can lock some Pokemon into bad moves, like Mega Venusaur with Leech Seed, but it isn't really useful outside of that.

Checks and Counters

Bulky Attackers: Pokemon such as Mega Mawile, Mega Metagross, and Magearna are able to easily take Lopunny's attacks thanks to their good bulk. They can then retaliate and OHKO Mega Lopunny.

Faster Attackers: Threats even faster than Lopunny like Choice Scarf Kyurem-B and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele can OHKO Lopunny due to its frailty before taking large damage.

Priority Users: Priority users like Donphan and Dragonite can KO Substitute + Flail Lopunny, since it needs to be at a very low amount of HP to use Flail effectively.

Intimidate Users: Gyarados and Mega Mawile can use Intimidate to allow them to survive Mega Lopunny's attacks and attack hard in return.

Physically Bulky Pokemon: Most Pokemon capable of taking Fake Out + Giga Impact or High Jump Kick can usually beat Lopunny. Notable examples include Mega Venusaur, Mega Aggron, and Mega Slowbro.

Hey! Before I QC this, I need you to add Sub+Flail as another moveset and not in OO because it is on the same level and same popularity than Giga Impact set.

Overview

- Mega lopunny has a great movepool with good stabs in hjk and giga impact along with fake out to disrupt sturdy mons and dragonite
- mega lopunny has a great 135 speed tier, capable of outspeeding most threats and only being outsped by scarfers Choice Scarf users such as Porygon-Z Tapu Lele and megazam Pheromosa is a comparatively better example
(MegaZam gets outclassed by Scarf Lele, Gardevoir in attacking and its only niche over them is Protect/Sub Disable Encore Attack Move which isn't really good)

- good base Attack stat makes lopunny capable of KOing most threats with fake out + other attack
- scrappy is good for beating some ghosts like mimikyu
- all this allows it to beat top threats like non-scarf kyub, charizard, tapu koko, and dragonite Every Charizard except Bulky Zard X
- however, lopunny loses to most bulky attackers that can take the combination of fake out + giga impact/hjk, like magearna, mega metagross, and mega mawile
- Gets walled by bulky Pokemon like Mega Slowbro, Mega Venusaur, Mega Aggron
- lopunny is pretty frail, so even faster attackers like +1 megascarf blaziken, Scarf kyub, and scarf pz destroy it. (Scarf Kyurem-B doesn't always get the KO so add in mostly defeats with that)

- Ice Punch
I'd put 4 Def instead of SpD that gives it a slightly better chance of taking a Scarf Kyub Outrage and also doesn't change Genesect's Download
252 Atk Teravolt Kyurem-Black Outrage vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Lopunny-Mega: 253-298 (93.3 - 109.9%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Teravolt Kyurem-Black Outrage vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Lopunny-Mega: 252-297 (92.9 - 109.5%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

Moves

- giga impact is really powerful and capable of OHKOing most threats after fake out
(Since Fake Out is mentioned here, reorder it with Fake Out as the first move and it also helps in getting the better of rolls for other moves which is mentioned in others too)
- hjk is a secondary stab move and hits mons like kyu-b and snorlax
- fake out is needed to break sturdy and dragonite's multiscale and useful chip damage on foes Also mention Mimikty's Disguise thats important
- ice punch is decent coverage and can KO most dragonite variants after fake out and can beat some landorus-t

Set Details

- max attack and speed maximizes lopunny's offensive capabilities. jolly takes advantage of lopunny's great speed tier to outspeed foes like greninja and mega gengar
- adamant is an option for more power Give one or two specific examples where Adamant's power is helpful here (Against Landorus-T, Psychium Z Tapu Lele, Mega Altaria, Bulky Kyurem-B, Primarina) but leaves it outsped by Greninja, Tapu Koko
- scrappy after mega evolving lets lopunny hits ghost-types which allows it to defeat Mimikyu, Mega Gengar
- lopunnite is needed to mega evolve (I don't know if this is required as its not stated in Zard X, Zard Y, Mega Gyarados)

Usage Tips

- bring out mega lopunny when predicting a foe to use something like icium z kyu-b or tapu koko (Can't KO all the bulky Kyurem-B sets though especially the one EVd for Zard X Outrage)
- always Mostly use fake out first and follow it up with the appropriate attack, usually giga impact cause most power (Or say Giga Impact is its most powerful move against neutral effectiveness)
- avoid bringing out lopunny against faster threats like mega alakazam Pheromosa, potentially Scarfed Pokemon like Porygon-Z, and pokemon that are too bulky for lopunny to break like magearna
- use lopunny to scare out fast, offensive, frail mons like mega gengar and charizard for teammates to take advantage of You wouldn't call Charizard frail (Bulky Zard Y takes on ScarfKyub Pz MGyara and others while Zard X has good Def) and bulky Zard X can actually defeat it so change that

Team Options

- slower offensive pokemon like mega gyarados and mega pinsir appreciate lopunny beating faster threats like tapu koko
- both charizards can deal with bulky steels like magearna, mega aggron, and mega mawile that lopunny has trouble against (Bulky Mega Charizard X is the only Zard variant which can KO Mega Aggron. Zard Y loses to Head Smash even after WoW so replace that with Bulky Mega Charizard X)
- tapu koko deters gyarados, mawile, and metagross from coming in. physical tapu koko and mega lopunny can both lure in magearna for tapu koko to take out
- koko also appreciates lopunny beating most dragonite sets and taking on some sturdy users like magnezone and golem

Strategy Comments

Other Options

- substitute + flail can work with mega lopunnys good speed tier to repeatedly substitute and give lopunny a really powerful flail (As a tip, add in that do not use Fake Out against Garchomp while using this set as that'd reduce Flail's power) This one might as well need its own set due to different playstyle requirement
- encore can lock some Pokemon into bad moves, like mega venusaur with leech seed, but isn't really useful outside of that

Checks and Counters

Bulky Steel-types: Pokemon such as Mega Mawile, Mega Metagross, and Magearna are able to easily take Lopunny's attacks thanks to their good bulk. They can then retaliate and OHKO Mega Lopunny.
The header Bulky-Steel types here is kind of misleading, HJK is actually SE vs Steel and all the mons mentioned here can take on Mega Lopunny because their secondary type resists Fight which makes HJK neutral and being Steel is a coincidence just reword the header and its all good.

Faster Attackers: Threats even faster than Lopunny like Choice Scarf Kyurem-B and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele can OHKO Lopunny due to its frailty before taking large damage.

Notable examples include Mega Venusaur, Donphan, Mega Aggron, and bulky Dragonite.

Moves

- Substitute, after four uses, puts Lopunny at a very low amount of HP and gives Flail maximum power. (would mention that it also gives you a layer or protection from status vs stuff like mega-veunsaur and the occasional wisp zard x. great for z move scouting as well)
- Flail has 200 Base Power when Lopunny is very low on HP and is capable of OHKOing most threats after Fake Out damage.
- Fake Out breaks Sturdy, Multiscale, and Disguise on Magnezone, Dragonite, and Mimikyu and also gets useful chip damage on other threats.
- High Jump Kick is a good Fighting-type STAB attack that hits Pokemon like Snorlax, Magnezone, and Aegislash.

Set Details

- Maximum Attack investment gives Mega Lopunny lots of power.
- Maximum Speed investment with a Jolly nature allows Mega Lopunny to outspeed almost every threat in the metagame besides Choice Scarf users and a few others. (mention which non scarf mons outspeed it as well as the relevant scarfers as well)
- Lopunnite allows Lopunny to Mega Evolve. (same comment as before, don't need a point on the mega stone)
- Scrappy is a useful post-Mega ability, as Lopunny would otherwise be walled by Ghost-types.

Usage Tips

- Substitute should always be used repeatedly until Lopunny can no longer use it, giving Flail maximum Base Power.
- Fake Out should be used first against most Pokemon to break Sturdy, Multiscale, and Disguise and to get chip damage. (this implies that you only use fake out vs those mons, when realistically you should be clicking it almost all the time as your first move. mention that it breaks sturdy, mimikyu and disguise as well as providing small chip damage)
- Don't use Fake Out against Garchomp, though, because Rough Skin can make using Substitute into Flail pretty much impossible
- Avoid sending Lopunny out against priority users such as Mega Pinsir, Donphan, and Dragonite, as they can easily KO Lopunny when it's low on HP after using Substitute.
- Substitute doesn't need to be used against Pokemon High Jump Kick is more useful against, like Snorlax, Porygon-Z, and Magnezone.

Physically Bulky Pokemon: Most Pokemon capable of taking Fake Out + Giga Impact or High Jump Kick can usually beat Lopunny. Notable examples include Mega Venusaur, Donphan, Mega Aggron, and bulky Dragonite.

- adamant is an option for more power, such as securing the KO on Mega Altaria with Fake Out + Giga Impact and securing the OHKO on Psychium Z Tapu Lele with Giga Impact. However, it leaves Lopunny outsped by the likes of Tapu Koko, Mega Gengar, and Greninja.
- scrappy after mega evolving lets lopunny hits ghost-types, which lets it beat mega gengar and mimikyu

Usage Tips

- bring out mega lopunny when predicting a foe to use something like icium z kyu-b or tapu koko. Be wary though that some kyub are bulky enough to survive fake out + hjk
- almost always use fake out first and follow it up with the appropriate attack, usually giga impact cause most power against neutral targets
- don't use fake out against lucario, though, since it has inner focus, so instead just use high jump kick immediately
- avoid bringing out lopunny against faster threats like pheromosa and potential scarfers like porygonz and pokemon that are too bulky for lopunny to break like magearna
- use lopunny to scare out fast, offensive, frail mons like mega gengar and tapu Koko for teammates to take advantage of

Team Options

- slower offensive pokemon like mega gyarados and mega pinsir appreciate lopunny beating faster threats like tapu koko
- bulky zard x can deal with bulky steels like magearna, mega aggron, and mega mawile that lopunny has trouble against
- tapu koko deters gyarados and mawile from coming in. physical tapu koko and mega lopunny can both lure in magearna for tapu koko to take out
- koko also appreciates lopunny beating most dragonite sets and taking on some sturdy users like magnezone and golem

Substitute + Flail
Lopunny @ Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Flail
- Fake Out
- High Jump Kick

Set Comments

Moves

- Substitute, after four uses, puts Lopunny at a very low amount of HP and gives Flail maximum power. It also protects Lopunny from status moves like Leech Seed and Will-O-Wisp and can scout for potential Z-Moves.

- Maximum Speed investment with a Jolly nature allows Mega Lopunny to outspeed almost every threat in the metagame besides Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele and Porygon-Z and some unvisited threats like Pheromosa.
- Scrappy is a useful post-Mega ability, as Lopunny would otherwise be walled by Ghost-types.

Usage Tips

- Substitute should always be used repeatedly until Lopunny can no longer use it, giving Flail maximum Base Power.
- Fake Out should be used first against most Pokemon to get chip damage and to break Sturdy, Multiscale, and Disguise.
- Don't use Fake Out against Garchomp, though, because Rough Skin damage will reduce Flail's overall power once Lopunny can no longer make more Substitutes.
- Avoid sending Lopunny out against priority users such as Mega Pinsir, Donphan, and Dragonite, as they can easily KO Lopunny when it's low on HP after using Substitute. Similarly, avoid bringing Lopunny into faster threats like Pheromosa and Mega Blaziken, since its advantage lies in its Speed tier allowing it to use Substitute before being attacked.
- Substitute doesn't need to be used against Pokemon High Jump Kick is more useful against, like Snorlax, Porygon-Z, and Magnezone.
- Bring out Lopunny when predicting the opposition to use a fast and frail Pokemon like Mega Gengar.

Team Options

- Both Mega Charizard Y and Mega Charizard X can deal with Steel-types like Mega Mawile and Magearna that beat Mega Lopunny.
- Strong one-time hitters like Greninja, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Pinsir appreciate Mega Lopunny beating Sturdy and Disguise users like Magnezone and Mimikyu.
- Bulkier Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Mega Aggron can take on the priority users such as Dragonite and Donphan that threaten Lopunny.
- Strong wallbreakers like Tapu Lele and Donphan can take on bulky foes that Lopunny struggles against, like Mega Venusaur and Magearna.

Strategy Comments

Other Options

- encore can lock some Pokemon into bad moves, like mega venusaur with leech seed, but isn't really useful outside of that

Checks and Counters

Notable examples include Mega Venusaur, Donphan, Mega Aggron, and bulky Dragonite.
Overview
- Add Aegislash to the Ghost mons since it's a very relevant pick to HJK to oblivion

Set 1
- I'd completely remove the option of Adamant Nature, because most of the things you mention for Adamant Nature don't stand a chance against Flail either way, with the exception of Hyper Voice or Cotton Guard Mega Altaria.
Moves
- Again add Aegislash to HJK
- Ice Punch is the best way to guarantee a victory against Garchomp, which I consider more relevant than a finicky win against Lando-T

Set 2
Moves

- *UOP's brain dies* Aegislash is already mentioned  good

Team Options
- You mentioned Lopunny doesn't like facing Bulky Pokémon such as Venusaur but team options has no mention of Venusaur and how to deal with that weakness. Easiest way to fix that is just changing the line about Pinsir saying "In return, Pinsir helps defeat bulky mons like Venusaur that threaten Lopunny"

QC 2/3

Note: Halfway through the second set I got dizzy, since I was almost done anyway (I did the strategy section first) I decided to hand out the QC without having gone over that part. Whoever is doing QC 3 I suggest take a careful look at the second set after the Moves section

However, Lopunny loses to most bulky attackers that can take the combination of Fake Out + Giga Impact, High Jump Kick, or Flail, such as Magearna, Mega Metagross, and Mega Mawile Mention something that’s not a Steel Type, like Mega-Blastoise or something. Mention that its low amount of bulk means that Pokémon that live Fake Out + Attack usually OHKO it.

All-out Attacker
Lopunny @ Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Giga Impact
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch

This set should be Adamant. You’re running this set to OHKO mons with Giga Impact that could take advantage of Sub and to OHKO Lando-T. An Adamant nature gives you a much better roll against Landorus-T. Adamant also helps against stuff like very bulky Kyurem.

Jolly nature takes advantage of Mega Lopunny's great Speed tier, allowing it to outspeed foes like Greninja and Mega Gengar.

Substitute, after four uses, puts Lopunny at a very low amount of HP and gives Flail maximum power. It also protects Lopunny from status moves like Leech Seed and Will-O-Wisp and can scout for potential Z-Moves I’m not sure scouting for Z-Moves matters but I guess we include it anyway. Potentially dodging Leech Seed and Charm are probably a lot more valuable.

Fake Out isn’t always right against Mimikyu and Whimsicott either. This set should be picked into stall Pokémon like Mega-Venu that look to stall the Giga Impact set. This set also has a better match-up against Mega-Gyarados as Flail has more base power and Sub usually allows you to get chip damage with both Fake Out and High Jump Kick.

Bulkier Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Mega Aggron can take on the priority users such as Dragonite and Donphan that threaten Lopunny Mega-Venusaur isn’t a great counter to Dragonite, especially one with Extreme Speed, as it could be Z-Flying. Strong wallbreakers like Tapu Lele and Donphan can take on bulky foes that Lopunny struggles against, like Mega Venusaur and Magearna.

Encore can lock some Pokemon into bad moves into one move, like Mega Venusaur with Leech Seed , but it isn't really useful outside of that.

Notable examples include Mega Venusaur, Donphan, Mega Aggron, and bulky Dragonite. This and bulky attackers are basically the same thing. You should probably make the first one attacking Pokémon like Metagross and Magearna and the second one stall Pokémon like Venusaur, stall Mew, and Slowbro.
