[Balanced Hackmons] Xerneas

[OVERVIEW]

Xerneas's niche in Balanced Hackmons is as a bulky Fairy-type stallbreaker with overall good offensive stats. Its Fairy typing allows it to excel in a metagame rampant with Dragon- and Dark-types, such as Giratina, Mega Tyranitar, and Yveltal. The same typing also gives it weaknesses to not commonly offensive types in Poison and Steel, which are fairly offset by its decent bulk. It is also the only relevant Fairy-type in BH with a Fighting resistance. However, it faces stiff competition offensively from Mega Diancie, which has higher offenses and defenses but is frail, and defensively from Mega Audino, which has better bulk; therefore, Xerneas is best suited as a bulky sweeper.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Taunt shuts down non-Magic Bounce walls, essentially turning them into complete setup fodder for Xerneas. It also allows Xerneas to reliably beat Recycle Shedinja. Quiver Dance boosts Xerneas's Special Attack and Speed, preparing it for a sweep, and can be used after a wall has been Taunted to ensure a safe setup. Moonblast is Xerneas's only STAB attack, OHKOing Mega Rayquaza after a single Quiver Dance boost. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers and forces them out and also wears down walls; it also helps against Imposter users. Another option is Leech Seed, which provides Xerneas with more recovery in conjunction with Poison Heal and also helps with Imposter users and Shedinja. However, forgoing Will-O-Wisp leaves Xerneas vulnerable to strong physical attackers. Another alternative is Earth Power, which lets Xerneas beat Magic Bounce Steel-types and Primal Groudon at the cost of losing to Shedinja and, again, having trouble against physical attackers.

Set Details
========

The 252 HP and 36 Special Defense EVs guarantee that Xerneas survives a Sky Plate-boosted Boomburst from 4 SpA Mega Rayquaza prior to any Quiver Dance boosts. The remaining EVs contribute to Xerneas's physical bulk, as it already boosts its Special Defense with Quiver Dance. They also helps it avoid being revenge killed by -ate users. Toxic Orb activates Poison Heal, which provides passive healing and an immunity to other status ailments. It also makes Xerneas a good Knock Off absorber once Toxic Orb has activated along with its typing.

Usage Tips
========

Xerneas can switch into nearly any defensive Pokemon in the metagame once Toxic Orb is activated. Taunt forces most non-Quiver Dance walls out, giving Xerneas an opportunity to set up or burn the switch-in. Taunt should be used against stall Pokemon to prevent them from recovering. Thanks to Quiver Dance boosting its Special Defense and the burn from Will-O-Wisp crippling physical attackers, Xerneas can survive most unboosted attacks. After three Quiver Dance boosts, Xerneas can OHKO most offensive Pokemon with Moonblast, allowing it to begin a sweep.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard support in the form of Stealth Rock or Spikes is valuable, as Taunt forces many switches and Pokemon can be worn down by the hazards. This set struggles with Magic Bounce Registeel and Aegislash, so a reliable switch-in such as Magic Guard Ho-Oh or Red Orb Primal Groudon makes for a good partner. Alternatively, a Mold Breaker Pokemon such as Giratina can be used, as it can ignore Magic Bounce and set up entry hazards or inflict status. Giratina also makes for a good switch-in to Primal Groudon, which this set struggles with. If an Imposter user switches in and wins a Speed tie to Taunt Xerneas, Magic Bounce Registeel or Aegislash with Whirlwind makes for a good backup plan. They can also provide a slow U-turn to ensure that Xerneas's Toxic Orb activates safely. As Xerneas is primarily a stallbreaker, bulky Pokemon capable of handling strong Pokemon such as Mega Rayquaza and Mega Diancie are valuable teammates. Strong Pokemon such as Mega Rayquaza, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Mewtwo X make for good offensive teammates, as they can weaken Xerneas's counters and clean up after Xerneas in return breaks down the Pokemon that wall them.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Spore can provide Xerneas with more opportunities to set up, though Dark Void can be used instead to bypass Safety Goggles at the cost of lower accuracy. Xerneas can run a physical Poison Heal set using Play Rough, forgoing Quiver Dance for Shift Gear, though this makes it more challenging to accumulate boosts. A RegenVest set can function as a defensive pivot while still packing a punch, but Xerneas lacks the bulk to switch into the majority of the tier's heavy hitters, such as -ate users. Xerneas has a niche as a bulky Pixilate user, though Mega Diancie performs it better because it's noticeably stronger. As an Unaware user, Xerneas has some utility over Mega Audino in taking on Contrary Pokemon, such as Mega Mewtwo X, whose Fighting-type STAB moves Xerneas resists, and Mega Rayquaza, thanks to its more powerful Moonblast; however, Mega Audino is bulkier overall and can thus perform the role better. Xerneas can use Magnet Pull to trap Doom Desire Dialga and use Substitute to prevent itself from being hit by Dialga's only move, but if Dialga is not on the opposing team, Xerneas is often deadweight.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh**: Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh resist Xerneas's Moonblast and can survive it even after six Quiver Dance boosts. In return, Groudon can OHKO Xerneas with V-create and Ho-Oh can phaze Xerneas with Whirlwind. However, Groudon must be wary of Earth Power, and Ho-Oh struggles once Taunted.

**Bulky Steel-types**: With a resistance to Fairy, Registeel and Aegislash can switch into Xerneas's Moonblast comfortably. While Earth Power and Taunt help with these matchups, Xerneas will struggle with either Flash Fire or Magic Bounce variants depending on its moveset.

**Mega Gengar**: Mega Gengar easily takes on unboosted Xerneas and can set up on it with Shell Smash. Mega Gengar resists Xerneas's Moonblast and threatens Xerneas with a super effective Sludge Wave.

**Unaware Pokemon**: Unaware Pokemon, such as Mega Audino, don't fear Xerneas's boosted attacks. In return, these Pokemon can phaze Xerneas or steal its boosts with Heart Swap. However, Unaware users struggle against Xerneas running Taunt.

**Prankster Pokemon**: Prankster Pokemon bypass Xerneas's Speed boosts and can steal its Quiver Dance boosts with Heart Swap, lock it into a non-attacking move with Encore, or shut down its sweep with Topsy-Turvy. However, Prankster users must be wary of Xerneas's Taunt.

stoked to be writing this as my first analysis. tagging E4 Flint Kingslayer2779 nyan kat Piccolo Daimao Pikachuun Uselesscrab for QC checks.
a couple of comments/questions on my end:
  • OO feels a little light, but I don't know what to add
  • should Ho-Oh be included in Checks and Counters? defensive avoids a 2HKO from +6 Modest Moonblast over 90% of the time but can only 2HKO Magnet Pull with Flare Blitz less than 5% of the time. loses to Stallbreaker altogether as a result of Taunt, physical bulk investment, and PH recovery. not sure if it's worth the mention, so I've left it out for now, but I'd like some other opinions.
thanks!

Am QC check here.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Xerneas has an important niche in Balanced Hackmons as a pure Fairy-type
  • Weaknesses only to uncommon attacking types along with decent bulk
  • Good offensive typing in a tier with several common Dragon-types and Dark-types
  • The best available counter to Doom Desire Dialga, which becomes setup bait
  • Faces stiff competition offensively from Mega Diancie, whose stats are higher in every category except HP; defensively from Mega Audino
  • Instead finds it niche in the middle ground as a bulkier sweeper
Mention how it is resistant to being impostors, as that's one of its more important traits
Remove best available- it isn't. Instead, try something like "Pairs well with" or "Reliably takes on"
Probably more GP than QC, but that last bullet isn't very descriptive or clear. As an idea, something like "Because of this, it is best used as a bulky sweeper" or "Xerneas is most effective as a bulky sweeper"

[SET]
name: Magnet Pull
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Quiver Dance
move 3: Moonblast
move 4: Magma Storm / Stored Power / Taunt
item: Leftovers
ability: Magnet Pull
nature: Modest
evs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Substitute blocks Doom Desire from Dialga, status, and Topsy Turvy
  • Prevents Imposter from taking effect
  • Quiver Dance boosts SpA and Spe to prepare for a sweep; SpD boosts make setup easier against special attackers
  • Moonblast is primary attack, capable of OHKOing Mega Rayquaza without any boosts
  • Magma Storm takes out Steel-types and Shedinja, but doesn't help versus Primal Groudon
  • Can also temporarily trap Pokemon that struggle to break Xerneas's Substitutes, allowing Xerneas to set up
  • Stored Power can OHKO Primal Groudon after two Quiver Dance boosts (guaranteed OHKO after three) and helps versus Unaware Mega Audino
  • Requires several boosts to be useful and leaves Xerneas helpless against Shedinja
  • Taunt prevents phazing and allows Xerneas to set up more easily
  • Leaves Xerneas vulnerable to Primal Groudon, Magic Bounce Steel-types, and Shedinja

Set Details
========

  • Leftovers give Xerneas passive recovery, which is crucial when using Substitute
  • Max SpA EVs with a Modest nature allow Xerneas to OHKO Mega Rayquaza with Moonblast 87% of the time without any boosts
  • 176 Spe EVs allow Xerneas to outspeed Timid Mega Mewtwo Y after a single Quiver Dance
  • The remaining 80 EVs are placed into HP to beef up Xerneas's Substitutes
Substitute also blocks fakespeed, endeavor, and volt switch (from shed/etc), which is definitely worth mentioning.
Replace Unaware Maudino with unaware in general- audino isn't the only viable user by any means
List what taunt does vs unaware as well, and how it can sometimes allow xerneas to break through.
Usage Tips
========

  • Magnet Pull Xerneas is the perfect counter to Doom Desire Dialga
  • Xerneas's Substitutes take the damage from Dialga's Doom Desire, and its Fairy typing provides an immunity to Dialga's Dragon-type attacks
  • Dialga is trapped and turned into setup fodder
  • Xerneas can set up a Substitute versus Giratina or Yveltal, which will likely be scared out by the threat of Moonblast
  • Xerneas can trap rare variants of Registeel lacking an escape move such as Parting Shot or U-Turn
Again, don't say perfect- Not only is dialga capable of running coverage moves, its even reasonably common in the case of magma storm.
Fold the third bullet into the first- it's largely redundant
Who do I use taunt on? When do I set up without bothering with a substitute? When do I just click moonblast to smack the switchin? This is important.

Team Options
========

  • Doom Desire Dialga is an excellent partner, as an Imposter user that switches in on Dialga becomes setup bait for Xerneas
  • If an Imposter user catches Xerneas without a Substitute up, it is important to have a Pokemon that can handle Xerneas even after several Quiver Dance boosts
  • Choices for this Pokemon vary depending on Xerneas's fourth move
  • Good options include Primal Groudon, Unaware Mega Audino, Shedinja, and Flash Fire or Magic Bounce Registeel or Aegislash
List Mega Gengar- unless you run magma storm, its pursuit support is irreplaceable.
Add something to take on Primal Groudon, as Xerneas is basically a free switch for it. Giratina, FC Maudino, and Slowbro are all decent/good options.
Pokemon that appreciate Dialga gone are also god teammates, so basically anything it sets up on is good.

  • Moonblast is primary attack, OHKOing Mega Rayquaza after a single Quiver Dance boost
  • Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers and wears down walls
  • Also helps versus Imposter users
  • Recover keeps Xerneas healthy, making it easier to set up
  • Will give Xerneas more trouble with strong physical attackers, bulky Steel-types, and Shedinja
Taunt also lets it beat recycle shedinja with some reliability, which is definitally worth noting.
Leech seed is a decent option that should at least be listed in moves.
Invest 30 or so spd evs to live a 4 spa sky-plate boomburst
Set Details
========

  • Toxic Orb activates Poison Heal, which provides passive healing along with an immunity to other status conditions
  • Makes Xerneas a good Knock Off absorber when combined with its typing
  • The EVs and nature maximize Xerneas's physical bulk, as it boosts its SpD with Quiver Dance
  • Also help Xerneas avoid being revenge killed by -ate users

Usage Tips
========

  • Once Toxic Orb is activated, can switch into nearly any defensive Pokemon in the tier
  • Taunt forces most walls without Magic Bounce to switch or U-Turn out, giving Xerneas an opportunity to begin setting up with Quiver Dance or burn the switch-in with Will-O-Wisp
  • Stall teams are crippled by the combination of Taunt and Will-O-Wisp as Xerneas boosts with Quiver Dance
  • After accumulating sufficient boosts, Xerneas can begin to sweep with Moonblast
How many boosts is sufficient? Enough to 2hko their team? Ohko it? Live all special attacks? As much as possible while remaining above half health? Just saying sufficient isn't useful at all.
How are stall teams crippled? Poison heal, for instance, doesn't care. Boosting+Taunt is the best way xerneas has to beat stall, not WoW+Taunt.
This section needs some more information as well, but I'm not really experienced enough with PH xern to comment.

  • These bulky Steel-types can also provide a slow U-Turn to ensure that Xerneas's Toxic Orb activates safely
  • Strong Pokemon such as Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo X/Y that can clean up walls weakened by Xerneas make good offensive teammates
Hazard support should also be included as something Xerneas really appreciates, although oviously not TSpikes.
Pokemon with a good matchup VS offense are huge as well, since Xerneas is almost purely a stallbreaker.
It pairs well with Diancie/-Ate/GW Ray due to their ability to wear down checks and counters.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • A Pixilate set with Boomburst and Extreme Speed may seem appealing due to Xerneas's typing and mixed attacking stats, but this set is largely outclassed by Mega Diancie
  • A RegenVest set taking advantage of Xerneas's typing may seem viable as a defensive pivot, but Xerneas lacks the bulk to switch into the majority of the tier's heavy hitters, such as -ate users
As you said, this needs to be expanded (also changed a bit)
-Regenvest is a lot better then you are implying. It isn't main set worthy, but its definitally good.
-Spore is another great option on PH sets
-Earth power is a usable move on the main set because of its great coverage with fairy (Non-levitate (especially FF) steels, Pdon, etc), admittedly at the cost of beating Shedinja.
-A prankster set is definitely usable on Xerneas.
-If you didn't mention leech seed above, here is a good place to do so
-Xerneas is also a decent unaware user (specifically in its matchup V contrary MMX/MRay) over Maudino
-Physical sets with shift gear+Play rough are workable as well.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Primal Groudon**: Primal Groudon survives +6 Moonblast from Modest Xerneas 75% of the time and OHKOes with V-Create in return. While neither Taunt nor Will-O-Wisp threatens Primal Groudon, it must be wary of a boosted Xerneas running Stored Power.

**Bulky Steel-types**: With a resistance to Fairy, Registeel and Aegislash can switch into Xerneas's Moonblast comfortably. While Magma Storm and Taunt help with these matchups, Xerneas will struggle with either Flash Fire or Magic Bounce variants depending on its moveset.

**Unaware Mega Audino**: Unaware Mega Audino doesn't fear Xerneas's boosted attacks, surviving a Stored Power even after six Quiver Dance boosts. In return, Mega Audino can phaze Xerneas out or steal its boosts with Heart Swap. However, Mega Audino struggles against Xerneas running Taunt.

**Prankster Pokemon**: Prankster Pokemon bypass Xerneas's speed boosts and can steal its Quiver Dance boosts with Heart Swap or lock it into a non-attacking move with Encore. Without a Substitute to protect it, Xerneas is also vulnerable to Topsy Turvy. However, Prankster users must be wary of Taunt.

**Imposter Pokemon**: Imposter Pokemon threaten Xerneas if it lacks a Substitute. If the Imposter user copies Xerneas's set and wins a Speed tie to land a Taunt, Xerneas's sweep can be halted quickly. In this situation, the Imposter user can threaten with a sweep of its own.
Unaware pokemon in general are good counters- Audino deserves special mention, but it isn't on its own.
Poison heal is a good check/counter as well, as unless the foe is a dark type Xerneas cant hurt it all that much w/o taunt.
MGar, especially with sludge wave, easily defeats unboosted Xerneas while threatening switchins, or can set up on Xerneas.
Pokemon with taunt are also good at beating it.
Oh, and add Ho-Oh- It beats set one, can beat set two, and at the very least walls it reasonably solidly even at +6

thanks for your suggestions! I've implemented most of them but want to ask a couple questions before I add the remainder:
  • how does Prankster Xerneas operate? what are its advantages over other Prankster users?
  • since I'm trying to avoid going past six checks/counters (most analyses have five), I'm considering a couple changes: if good matchup vs. Impostors is mentioned in Overview (which I've added as per your suggestion), should the Imposter section of Checks and Counters be removed to avoid contradiction?
  • does Taunt deserve its own section in Checks and Counters, or should it just be included under Prankster? I think Moody sets are the only ones that commonly run Taunt that would outspeed Xerneas, so I'm not certain if I should give it its own spot, though I agree it deserves a mention
  • should Ho-Oh be listed separately from PDon? both check Xerneas because they are bulky physical Fire-types, so I am considering listing them together

Prankster xern is a fairy type over other prankster mons (prankster maudino is bad) and has the speed to taunt opposing pranksters (not super relevant) and can take on -ate 1v1, which is one of prankster's best counters/checks.

Probably- Imposters beat most mons, but xerneas is more heavily resistant than others

Taun should probably be folded into prankster, yes.

Yeah, list them together- while they are very different mons, they do so for the same reasons.

Hello

Overall:

  • I think a main set should be independent of needing to have another mon in the team or for facing a single set. Therefore you should swap your wallbreaker with your Magnet Pull set and make that first. Magnet Pull Xerneas is good for Dialga, but keeping it first would seem to imply (to me), that it is a good answer to most Steel types in the tier which is not true, since almost all of them have switch moves. Before, this QC had this set as the only one so I didn't think it was possible to even QC, though I am glad there is another one which is viable

Set Magnet Pull:
  • Heal Order should be slashed for move 4 IMO
  • Stored Power can be put in OO for its usefulness against Primal Groudon, but IMO the matchup vs Steels is going to be more common. Furthermore, this set assumes you can trap a Steel type and boost enough for that not to matter

Set Details:
  • With Heal Order, it can run Safety Goggles and set up on more mons, and also take Imposter better by stalling out its 5 PP of Moonblast

Team Options:
  • Definitely something to defeat Ho-Oh, which Xerneas cannot threaten effectively until it has gotten sufficient boosts, which is difficult when it will have no heal and wants to set up a sub
  • This set would also appreciate Mold Breaker and Hazards to defeat Shed a bit easier, allowing it to not have to run Magma or go with Moonblast as the primary attack
  • Switch in for -Ate users that can threaten with Fake Speed and Boomburst, ruining your Substitute

Set StallBreaker:
  • Personally I think you can keep Taunt and Willo together, and add Earth Power to the Recover or Leech because otherwise this set is easily shut down by almost any Magic Bounce Steel user. Having it set up this way will help it take them on as well as still threatening Shed and being Imposter Resistant

Set Comments:
Moves:

  • [Add]Leech Seed can also help vs Imposter and, with Taunt, can help hamper Fur Coat Chansey

Team Options:
  • Again, this set is almost completely shut down by Ho-Oh, especially the common Magic Guard one. Definitely need something to at least threaten it
  • Switch in for -Ate users that can threaten with Fake Speed

Strategy Comments:
Other Options:

  • [Add]Earth Power makes it very weak vs Ho-Oh
  • [Reorder]IMO Xerneas is a better Pixilate than it is a Unaware. Unaware should prob be last IMO

Checks and Counters:
  • Mention for bulky steels about needing switch moves for Magnet Pull set

Verdict:
Good, but rearrange the sets for sure

[QC1/3]

Thanks for all your feedback. I've implemented most. To clarify on the quoted point--would you suggest leaving Taunt / Will-O as move 1?
I do like Earth Power as a slash, though I'm uncertain on slashing something with Taunt. Losing to phazing, Topsy Turvy, Heart Swap, etc. makes it tough to break stall imo.

Enroyalle are you able to implement the above?
Implemented with the exception of the above. Sorry for the delay, I've been out for most of the last month.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
[OVERVIEW]

- Having an "important niche" is extremely vague, needs more clarification. Mention how it is a bulky Fairy-type while also still having good offensive stats unlike Mega Diancie which has great offensive stats but is frail (this is the niche).
- Once again, "uncommon attacking types" is vague. Specify which types you're talking about.
- Magnet Pull imo isn't justified to even be included, I'll explain the reason below.
- Any mon can be made to handle Imposter well with PH, what makes Xerneas special?

[SET]: Wallbreaker
- Compare the moves which are slashed, explain why each one should be used and what the pros/cons are and also why Willo has the highest priority and Leech is least preferred.
- Specify that Xern becomes a good koff absorber after Tox Orb has been activated.
- Specify how Xern can safely activate the Tox Orb, does this need team support?
- Give examples in Team Options on a few mons that counter Xern and wall it and also mons that help Xern in beating those counters.

[SET]: Magnet Pull

- The Magpull Xern set was specifically designed to be an Imposter counter for Dialga, it's by no means an actual set that people would run by itself. This makes the Magpull Xern set extremely niche and specific. Also keep in mind that if the goal is to trap and kill Steel-types, a Fairy-type isn't the best option; a Ground- or Fire-type would be far better. Don't get me wrong, this is a viable set to run but only if you wanna Imposter proof your Dialga or similar cases. This set's viability and usage complete depends on whether or not you're using a specific kind of mon, which imo doesn't justify it being mentioned here. Pixilate, RegenVest, and even Unaware sets are more viable than this set when using Xern alone even though all those sets are outclassed by other mons.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
- Mention Dark Void as it is very good for foes that carry Goggles, but also mention the disadvantage of using it which is the lower accuracy.
- Explain the physical PH set a bit more in depth, say why it's inferior to the special set (if it is). Mention its advantages as well.
- Mention faster wallbreakers such as mmy and Mega Lati in the C&C as they can threaten Xern before it sets up and force it out.
- Mention both the advantages and disadvantages whenever you talk about alternative sets. Mention Pixilate Xern's niche which is being bulky, mention that RegenVest Xern packs a punch and isn't a sitting duck like Registeel, explain that Unaware Xern may have a stronger Moonblast, but is overall weaker in terms of bulk when compared to Mega Audino.

Side note: It's completely fine to have 1 set for an analysis, you don't need to have 2 lol. If you can't find a set viable enough to be mentioned as a separate set, don't mention it. The Pixilate, RegenVest, and Unaware sets are mentioned in OO, which is something you identified correctly.

[QC 2/3] if you implement the changes mentioned

much appreciated. decided to move Magnet Pull to OO, your argument was solid.
made a few other changes in addition to the ones you suggested, such as replacing Recover with Earth Power as a slash on the primary set.
one more QC to go!
You actually have to write this up into paragraph form before getting the last QC, sorry I didn't tell you sooner

[OVERVIEW]

Xerneas's niche in Balanced Hackmons is as a bulky Fairy-type stallbreaker with overall good offensive stats. Its Fairy typing allows it to excel in a tier rampant with Dragon- and Dark-types, namely Giratina, Mega Tyranitar, and Yveltal.

[SET]
name: Stallbreaker

move 2: Quiver Dance
move 3: Moonblast
move 4: Will-O-Wisp / Leech Seed / Earth Power
item: Toxic Orb
ability: Poison Heal
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 36 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Taunt shuts down non-Magic Bounce walls, essentially turning them into complete setup fodder for Xerneas. It also allows Xerneas to reliably beat Recycle Shedinja. Quiver Dance boosts Xerneas's Special Attack and Speed, preparing it for a sweep, and can be used after a wall has been Taunted to ensure a safe set-up. Moonblast is Xerneas's only STAB attack, OHKOing Mega Rayquza after a single Quiver Dance boost. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers and forces them out and also wears down walls; it also helps against Imposter users. Another option is Leech Seed, which provides Xerneas with more recovery in conjuction with Poison Heal and also helps with Imposter users and Shedinja.

Set Details
========

The 252 HP and 36 SpD EVs guarantee that Xerneas survives a Sky Plate-boosted Boomburst from 4 SpA Mega Rayquaza prior to any Quiver Dance boosts. The remaining EVs contribute to Xerneas's physical bulk, as it already boosts its Special Defense with Quiver Dance. It also helps it avoid being revenge killed by -ate users. Toxic Orb activates Poison Heal, which provides passive healing and an immunity to other status ailments. It also makes Xerneas a good Knock Off absorber once Toxic Orb has activated along with its typing.

Usage Tips
========

Xerneas can switch into nearly any defensive Pokemon in the tier once Toxic Orb is activated. Taunt forces most non-Quiver Dance walls out, giving Xerneas an opportunity to set up or burn the switch-in. Taunt should be used against stall Pokemon to prevent them from recovering. Thanks to the Special Defense boosts from Quiver Dance and the burn from Will-O-Wisp crippling physical attackers, Xerneas can survive most unboosted special and physical attacks. After three Quiver Dance boosts, Xerneas can OHKO most offensive Pokemon with Moonblast, allowing it to begin a sweep.

Team Options
========

This set struggles with Magic Bounce Registeel and Aegislash, so a reliable switch-in such as Magic Guard Ho-Oh and Red Orb Primal Groudon makes for a good partner. Entry hazard support in the form of Stealth Rock or Spikes is valuable, as Taunt forces many switches and Pokemon can be worn down by the hazards. Strong Pokemon such as Mega Rayquaza, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Mega Mewtwo X make for good offensive teammates, as they can weaken Xerneas's counters and clean up after Xerneas in return breaks down the Pokemon that wall them.

===================

**Prankster Pokemon**: Prankster Pokemon bypass Xerneas's Speed boosts and can steal its Quiver Dance boosts with Heart Swap, lock it into a non-attacking move with Encore, or shut down its sweep with Topsy Turvy. However, Prankster users must be wary of Xerneas's Taunt.

Okay I'm just going to get this done lol

Overview:
  • I'd note that Poison and Steel are not especially common offensive types.
  • Can you incorporate a reference to it being the only relevant BH Fairy-type with a Fighting resistance at the end here?
Set:
  • In Moves, cut out the line about the Special Defense boost; it's really obvious
  • At the end of Set Details, add "once Toxic Orb has been activated" because you don't normally want to switch it into Knock Off
  • In Usage Tips, "Taunt forces most walls without Quiver Dance out" makes no sense.
  • In Team Options, Red Orb Primal Groudon is also a good teammate for the same reason as Ho-oh.
  • In OO, Xerneas also better takes on Contrary MMX because it resists Superpower.
  • Explain the Magnet Pull thing a little more in-depth (Dialga's only other attack is Draco Meteor, Xerneas Substitutes to block Doom Desire) at the end because honestly, that's one of the most common uses of Xerneas.
thanks for picking this up QC 3/3

GP 1/2
[OVERVIEW]

Xerneas's niche in Balanced Hackmons is as a bulky Fairy-type stallbreaker with overall good offensive stats. Its Fairy typing allows it to excel in a metagame rampant with Dragon- and Dark-types, namely Giratina, Mega Tyranitar, and Yveltal.

Moves
========

Moonblast is Xerneas's only STAB attack, OHKOing Mega Rayquza after a single Quiver Dance boost. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers and forces them out and also wears down walls; it also helps against Imposter users.

Set Details
========

It They also helps it avoid being revenge killed by -ate users. Toxic Orb activates Poison Heal, which provides passive healing and an immunity to other status ailments. It also makes Xerneas a good Knock Off absorber once Toxic Orb has activated along with its typing.

Usage Tips
========

========

This set struggles with Magic Bounce Registeel and Aegislash, so a reliable switch-in such as Magic Guard Ho-Oh and or Red Orb Primal Groudon makes for a good partner.
