Yes, yours are seeing it right.
BALANCED MASQUERAIN'S
GANG
This team is about Masquerain setting
Sticky Web so that Mega Herracross can
give a lot of damage. Simple? ...yea.
Heracross-Mega @ Heracronite
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pin Missile
- Rock Blast
- Bullet Seed
- Close Combat
This is our biggest damage output. This is a
standard Heracross set, withouth much modification.
The biggest change here is its 252 on Speed instead of
HP. This means that he can outspeed many things under Sticky Web,
and some others outside of it. Another modification is the Bullet Seed
over Earthquake, but In my opinion is better.
Masquerain @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Air Slash
- Whirlwind
- Roost
This is our main main, the champion himself,
Masquerain!!! 70/62/82 dosnt look like a impressive bulk,
but after you have a Intimidate up, it kinda patches it. Its
typing is another of its main features: Flying and Bug.
Resisting 4x Fighting and Grass, it can easly switch in Tangrouth,
Mega-Medichan and Mega-Loppuny. Sticky Web is its main move.
Masquerain is the tankies SW user. Air Slash is its damaging move.
100 Sp.Attack realy helps. What also helps in him is that it has a
flinch chance, so you can win a free Leftovers turn. Whirliwinf
is so you dont became Setup-Bait, and Roost is his recover.
Excadrill @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
This is our friend Excadrill. Excadrill makes a defensive core
with Masquerain. Stealth Rock is because this is a competitive
team, Rapid Spin is to clear oposing rocks. It is very, very needed as
Masquerain takes a lot of damage from they. Earthquake and Iron Head are STABs.
Mold Breaker helps in Setting Rocks in Sableye and Xatu.
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 240 Def / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge
- Roost
- Heat Wave
- Thunder Wave
Defensive Zapdos is here to make another core with
Masquerain. Discharge is STAB. Roost is recover, Heat Wave to
hit Ferrothorn and Scizor, that the team would have trouble
otherwise. Thunder Wave is what makes me use him here.
He heavly punishes teams withouth Heal Beal by slowing they down,
making they vulnerable to Herracross, and by adding that chance of they not moving.
With Masquerain's Air Slash it creates a ParaFlinch combo, with a big chance to the oponent
not hitting you. A nice guy, in general.
Heatran @ Rockium Z
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon
- Ancient Power
Trapper Heatran. MAgma Storm is for, well, trapping,
Flash Cannon his secondary STAB, Earth Power is coverage.
Ancient Power is a fun case here. Im using him with Rockinium Z
to destroy flying types I couldnt destroy otherwise, such as Zapdos that could
wall Heracross. And if you Magma Storm something that cant hit you hard and
you have Hp, you can always torture that guy with Ancient Power, in hope
for a buff...
Metagross @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Rock Slide
- Zen Headbutt
- Explosion
So, uhm. Here is Metagross, the least usefull member
of the group. I dont remember why ive placed he in the team,
but he has been saving the time. Sometimes. I mean, its
good to have a Psychic STAB, but its not that usefull. Meteor Mash and
Zen Headbutt is obrigatory stabs, with Rock Slide to deal with Flying types.
Explosion is if he already destroyed what he can and wanna bring something
safer, usualy against a dead oponent. Ha. Ha. Ha. This is the one you
will probably replace, metagross havent been doing much things.
How the team checks the top-Tiers
(based on the SMOU viability rankings)
Landorus-T: Masquerain (unless its Smack Down/Z Flyinium)
Magearna: Zapdos, Excadrill
Celesteela: Zapdos, Heatran
Ferrothorn: Zapdos, Heatran
Greninja: As usual, depends on the set.
Ash-Greninja: Again, depend on the set.
Heatran: Excadrill, Heatran.
Tapu Koko: Excadrill
Tapu Lele: Heracross
Toxapex: Zapdos, Heatran
Zygard:
Imporable:
