[OVERVIEW]

Emboar is one of NU's most formidable offensive Pokemon. Insanely good dual-STAB moves backed by Reckless-boosted Wild Charge make extremely bulky Water-types the only real switch-ins. While only two Emboar sets are commonplace, they have very different checks, and this only plays into the Emboar user's favor early in the game as the opponent tries to scout its set. Emboar has a useful defensive typing for offensive teams that always appreciate a soft Fire- and Grass-type check. A neutrality to Stealth Rock also helps ease some of the strain on teambuilding that other Fire-types may add. Emboar's best counter, Slowbro, also happens to be one of the most common Pokemon in NU. This can be both a burden and a blessing, as it makes supporting Emboar more straightforward, but more teams are likely to be prepared for it as well. While Choice Scarf can help salvage Emboar's middling Speed tier to a certain extent, wallbreaking sets can struggle to get past common Pokemon that outpace it.

Moves

Flare Blitz is Emboar's go-to STAB move and does a ton of damage thanks to the boost from Reckless. Superpower helps Emboar to break past Rock-types such as Rhydon, Barbaracle, and Omastar that look to switch in on a resisted Flare Blitz. While Superpower provides solid neutral coverage, it does give Emboar's foes setup opportunities once its Attack is weakened. Wild Charge provides super effective coverage against bulky Water-types such as Slowbro and Vaporeon, and it is also boosted by Reckless. Sleep Talk gives Emboar the ability to switch into and check Grass-types such as Lilligant and Vileplume that would otherwise put one of Emboar's teammates out of commission with Sleep Powder. Brick Break is appreciated for its ability to remove the opponent's Light Screen, Reflect, and Aurora Veil. Head Smash is an option to allow Emboar to hit bulky Flying-types such as Golbat and the rare Altaria much harder than Wild Charge, albeit at the risk of missing. It can also be useful for a middle-ground play when one of Emboar's other moves could be easily exploited by a foe with setup moves. Toxic can also be used to catch the bulky Water-types that counter Emboar off guard.

Set Details
========

When packing Choice Scarf and a Jolly nature, Emboar is able to outrun and threaten several fast Pokemon in the tier, namely Sneasel, Whimsicott, Sceptile, and Virizion. Maximum Attack investment only makes sense to give Emboar the power it needs to not only check fast threats but also break through frailer offensive teams. Reckless provides a boost in power to both Flare Blitz and Wild Charge.

Usage Tips
========

Emboar has the unique quality of being both a powerful and a relatively fast Choice Scarf user. This can allow Emboar to break through some offensive teams that may lack Pokemon that resist either Fire or Fighting, as well as simply threatening slower foes and forcing them to switch. Emboar's decent natural bulk and unique set of resistances allow it to switch into certain hits such as Leaf Blade from Virizion, Giga Drain from Sceptile, and Dark Pulse from Houndoom. While it may be tempting to switch Emboar into Sneasel and other common Knock Off users, this is not advised, as preserving the Choice Scarf is almost always more important than avoiding a little chip damage on another Pokemon that resists Dark. While Emboar does a great job of checking some of the tier's fastest offensive threats, it can struggle to keep itself healthy due to the residual damage from entry hazards and its recoil moves; keep this in mind when you consider switching Emboar in to take attacks or go for KOs on Rocky Helmet and Aftermath users. While Emboar does command some respectable power with a Choice Scarf, it can still struggle to break through some of the tiers sturdier Water-types, such as Slowbro and Seismitoad, so it will often make sense to threaten a Pokemon out and double switch to a teammate that can more aptly deal with said bulky Water-types.

Team Options
========

Water- and Grass-types such as Vaporeon, Slowbro, Rotom-C, and Sceptile synergize well defensively with Emboar by pivoting into Water- and Ground-type attacks aimed at it. Emboar pairs well with other physical attackers, such as Braviary and Drapion, that help muscle through some of the tier's more common physically defensive Pokemon such as Rhydon, Vaporeon, Garbodor, Slowbro, Jellicent, and Uxie. Emboar pairs well with strong Pursuit users such as Sneasel and Drapion that can weaken Slowbro, Slowking, and Jellicent, all of which prevent Emboar from using its most powerful STAB move. Entry hazard users such as Omastar, Qwilfish, and Garbodor give Emboar an easier time cleaning up late-game by helping to weaken the opposing team; however, the three also share a Ground-type weakness with Emboar. Rapid Spin and Defog users, such as Hitmonlee and Golbat, can make it more feasible for Emboar to switch in multiple times throughout the course of the game.

Moves
========

Flare Blitz becomes insanely powerful when boosted by both Reckless and Choice Band. It is easily Emboar's most used move and can even break through Pokemon that resist it such as Seismitoad, Lanturn, and opposing Emboar. Superpower is great for breaking foes early-game as opponents go to their most sturdy Pokemon that resists Fire; however, it's a move Emboar doesn't want to be locking itself into if possible, as many Emboar switch-ins carry recovery moves and can shrug off the first hit and easily survive the second once Emboar's Attack is lowered. Wild Charge is a very high-risk, high-reward move. It gives Emboar the ability to severely damage some of the tier's best bulky Water-types including Slowbro, Vaporeon, and Jellicent. However, it also gives the opponent a free switch to any Pokemon with an Electric immunity they may have. Sucker Punch gives Emboar some finishing power later in the game when it's at low HP and can be used to pick off weakened foes such as Sceptile, Sigilyph, and Delphox. Like Wild Charge, it is a high-risk move to be locking Emboar into, as Emboar can then be easily exploited by any foe with a setup move. Grass Knot makes Expert Belt Emboar a great lure for Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Rhydon, Omastar, and Barbaracle that would look to either come in for free or set up on an otherwise Choice-locked Emboar.

Set Details
========

Holding a Choice Band gives Emboar the ability to simply strongarm its way through some of its best defensive checks; anything that doesn't 4x resist a Flare Blitz or Superpower will likely be taking a huge chunk of damage. Unfortunately the same can be said for Emboar, as the more damage you deal with its recoil moves, the more damage it'll take. Expert Belt is an option over Choice Band to take advantage of Emboar's great type coverage and exploit some common switch-ins such as Seismitoad and Omastar by hitting them with a supereffective Grass Knot. Wallbreaking variants of Emboar function well with Attack-boosting natures and already outspeed most foes they would with a Jolly nature; an Adamant nature is used for Choice Band sets as you don't need to buff Emboar's Special Attack when running Sucker Punch, whereas Naughty gives the same Attack boost as Adamant without weakening Grass Knot for the Expert Belt set.

Usage Tips
========

Flare Blitz should be the move Emboar uses most often, as it's insanely powerful and giving Emboar a free turn to blitz something puts the opponent on the back foot immediately. As with any Choice item-using Pokemon, you should be careful what move you're locking Choice Band Emboar into and be wary of any setup sweepers the opponent has. The last thing you want is an opposing Omastar or Turtonator getting a free Shell Smash because you locked Emboar into Flare Blitz. Expert Belt sets can take advantage of the slight power buff that super effective Superpower and Wild Charge get to catch the opponent off guard; for example, if they see that the Wild Charge damage to their Slowbro looks a lot like a low roll from a Choice Band Emboar, they might be inclined to switch into a Ground-type like Steelix to give themselves a free turn.

Team Options
========

Choice Band Sneasel helps Emboar out by trapping weakened Slowbro, Slowking, and Jellicent, and it also appreciates Emboar's ability to weaken walls so that it can sweep late-game. Dependable pivots such as Rotom-C and Golbat give Emboar more opportunities to fire off some powerful attacks by forcing switches and getting off Volt Switches or U-turns. Golbat also clears the field of entry hazards, which Emboar appreciates, as it's already wearing itself down quickly with recoil. Emboar also appreciates the defensive utility Grass- and Water-types provide. Wallbreaking Emboar sets appreciate entry hazard support to secure OHKOs and 2HKOs on Pokemon that commonly switch into Emboar such as Vaporeon, Slowbro, and Golbat. Fast threats such as Shell Smash Barbaracle, Choice Scarf Braviary, Minior, Sneasel, and Whimsicott all love Emboar's ability to get chip damage on nearly every member of the opposing team, whether by forcing switches into hazards or by smacking foes with powerful attacks.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Emboar has a unique typing that lends itself well to a bulkier set utilizing Leftovers, Will-O-Wisp, Rest, Sleep Talk, and your STAB move of choice that checks top-tier threats such as Sceptile, Sneasel, and Houndoom, but such a set is typically too passive and is weak to several common attacking types, including Water, Flying, and Ground. Emboar has access to powerful special STAB moves such as Overheat, Fire Blast, and Focus Blast; however, none of these moves get a power boost from Reckless, so Emboar is forced to use a more situational ability in Blaze, and, most importantly, they're all pretty inaccurate moves. Emboar is also one of three Fire-types that have access to Scald, which can surprise unsuspecting Fire-types such as Charizard and Delphox. Flame Charge can remedy Emboar's lacking Speed on a wallbreaking set, but any turn that Emboar is boosting Speed, it isn't wallbreaking, which kind of defeats the purpose of using it. Emboar has a great movepool, but unfortunately some of the cooler options are simply outclassed by its other, better moves. Bulk Up sets are traditionally better done by Pokemon with less common weaknesses and base stats more suited for longevity such as Braviary and Gallade. Taunt, Roar, and Toxic are all great defensive moves, but they are better used by Pokemon with higher base Speed or more reliable recovery.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Water-types**: Defensive Water-types such as Vaporeon, Slowbro, Slowking, Jellicent, Seismitoad, Quagsire, Gastrodon, and Poliwrath force Emboar to either try muscling through them with Flare Blitz and Superpower or lock itself into a more exploitable move in Wild Charge. Jellicent is immune to Superpower, Slowbro and Slowking resist it, and on top of that both Slowbro and Slowking have Regenerator, which they can effectively use to scout the move Emboar locks itself into. Expert Belt sets are much more suited to getting through these Pokemon, as Emboar is able to bluff Choice Scarf and hit them with a surprise attack. Expert Belt sets are also great for removing the Water / Ground-types that are immune to Wild Charge by utilizing Grass Knot.

**Residual Damage**: Emboar may well be the biggest threat to itself; its recoil moves pack a punch, but they are definitely a double-edged sword. Coupled with the fact that Spikes and Stealth Rock are commonplace, Emboar can find itself whittled down before even knocking out a Pokemon.

**Faster Pokemon**: Emboar is extremely slow when not packing a Choice Scarf, and even then there a few common Choice Scarf users that outpace it, including Braviary, Barbaracle, Delphox, Mesprit, and Rotom, the majority of which can OHKO Emboar with no prior damage. Base 65 Speed is nothing to write home about, and the tier is littered with Water-, Flying-, and Psychic-types that outpace and threaten wallbreaking variants of Emboar, including Braviary, Samurott, and Uxie. Thankfully, the majority of threats to wallbreaking Emboar fear Choice Scarf variants which can definitely play into an Emboar user's favor.

help me get this done within 2 months so hootie (or disj i cant remember) loses money

add scald to oo its a neat special move emboar can use

for wallbreaker set I think it works well w/ a cleaner like Barbaracle that can take advantage of all the things emboar weakens. might be a better example but the team options should include some Pokemon that can make use of Emboars wallbreaking

I think Head Smash could be moved to moves on Choice Scarf, it's about as situational as Sleep Talk and while it doesn't hit many extra targets on its own (it nails Golbat though), it's so powerful you can use it to hedge bets in certain situations. Like if the opponent has a Sceptile out and a Golbat in the back, you can just click Head Smash and pick up the KO on Sceptile regardless.

Also emphasise in the Overview that being a Fire-type that's not weak to Stealth Rock is nice and frees up teambuilding to an extent.

Flare Blitz becomes insanely powerful when boosted by both Reckless and Choice Band. It is easily Emboar's most used move and can even break through Pokemon that resist it (such as what? It gives Emboar the ability to severely damage some of the tier's (AA) best bulky Water-types (AH), (AC) such as including Slowbro, Vaporen, and Jellicent. However, Wild Charge it also gives the opponent a free switch into (RS) any Pokemon with an Electric immunity they may have, and Slowbro can regain a chunk of its health simply by switching out (why does that make Wild Charge worse?). Sucker Punch gives Emboar some finishing power later in the game when it's (AA) at low HP and can be used to pick off weakened foes (such as?). Like Wild Charge, it is a high-risk (AH) move to be locking yourself Emboar into, (AC) as it Emboar can then be easily exploited by any foe with a setup (RS) move. An Adamant nature is used for Choice Band sets, (AC) as you Emboar don't need to buff your its Special Attack when running Sucker Punch. Naughty gives the same Attack boost as Adamant does without weakening your Grass Knots for the Expert Belt set. Unlike Scarf Emboar which absolutely needs the Speed boost that Jolly provides, wallbreaking variants of Emboar function well with Attack boosting natures and already outspeed a majority of things they would with a Jolly nature. (Don't reference other sets)

Usage Tips

Flare Blitz should be the move Emboar is trying to uses most often (you can't fail to use Flare Blitz unless in special circumstances that do not apply here). (RP), as it's (AA) insanely powerful and giving Emboar a free turn to blitz something puts the opponent on the back foot immediately. Expert Belt sets can take advantage of the slight power buff that Superpower and Wild Charge get on super effective targets to catch the opponent off guard. For example if I see that the Wild Charge damage to my Slowbro looks a lot like a low roll from Choice Band, I might be inclined to go to my Steelix to give myself a free turn. Expert Belt allows you to exploit any potential plays your opponent may make while working under the assumption your Emboar is choiced. As with any choiced Pokemon, (AC) you should be careful what move you're locking Emboar into and be wary of any set up setup sweepers the opponent may have. As with any choiced Pokemon you should be careful what move you're locking Emboar into and be wary of any set up sweepers the opponent may have. If the opponent has immunities or quad resistances to any of your attacks then those moves obviously have an inherent risk to clicking them. In a similar vein to the Choice Scarf set, Emboar also appreciates the defensive utility Grass- and Water-types provide. Wallbreaking Emboar sets also appreciate entry hazard support arguably more than Choice Scarf varients. (rewrite this so that it talks about what entry hazard support does for this set; don't compare this set to other sets) Fast threats such as Shell Smash Barbaracle, Choice Scarf Braviary, Minior, Sneasel, and Whimsicott all love that Emboar can get chip damage on nearly every member of the opposing team, whether by forcing switches into hazards or by smacking them with powerful attacks. Maximum Attack investment only makes sense to give Emboar the power it needs to not only check fast threats, (remove comma) but also to (because there's a "to" before the "not only", you don't need one here) break through more frailer offensive teams. Reckless is the preferred ability as it provides a boost in power to both Flare Blitz and Wild Charge.

Usage Tips
========

(you use many "While ..." sentence constructions in this paragraph, so consider changing up your sentence structure or using a different word)

Emboar has the unique quality of being both a powerful and a relatively fast Choice Scarf user. This can allow Emboar to break through some offensive teams that may lack a Pokemon that resists either Fire- or Fighting-type resist, and, as well as simply threatening faster (do you mean slower?) foes and forceing them to switch. Emboar has decent natural bulk and a unique set of resistances that allows (the use of "that" implies that this verb's subject is the singular "set". you can keep "allow" if you change "resistances that" to "resistances, which") it to switch into certain hits such as Leaf Blade from Virizion, Giga Drain from Sceptile, and Dark Pulse from Houndoom, and you get the idea. (this is implied by "such as") While you it may be tempted tempting to switch your Emboar (second person is OK here, so implementing this is optional) into Sneasel and other common Knock Off users, this is not advised, (add comma) as the Choice Scarf is almost always more important than a little chip damage on another Dark Pokemon that resists Dark. While Emboar does a great job of checking some of the tier's (AH) fastest offensive threats, it can struggle to keep itself healthy due to the residual damage from entry hazards and its recoil moves. K (RP); (ASC) keep (these changes are not strictly necessary and make the sentence fairly long, so implementing is optional) this in mind when you consider switching Emboar in to take attacks or go for kills KOs on Rocky Helmet and Aftermath users. While Emboar does command some respectable power while wielding a with (for repetition of "while") Choice Scarf, it can still struggle to break through some of the tier's sturdier bulky (repetitive with "sturdier") Water-types, (AC) such as Slowbro and Seismitoad, so it will often make sense to threaten a Pokemon out and double switch to a teammate that can more aptly deal with said bulky Water-types (AH).

Team Options
========

Water- and Grass-types such as Vaporeon, Slowbro, Rotom-C, and Sceptile synergize well defensively with Emboar by pivoting into Water- and Ground-type attacks aimed at it. Emboar pairs well with other physical attackers (maybe give examples here) that help muscle through some of the tier's (AA) more common physically defensive Pokemon such as Rhydon, Vaporeon, Garbodor, Slowbro, Jellicent, and Uxie. While Emboar can get through Rhydon and Uxie with some chip damage throughout the course of the game, it really prefers to be switching in and out as little as possible to avoid residual damage from recoil, hazards, and any potential status moves. (why is this in team options?) Emboar pairs well with strong Pursuit users such as Sneasel and Drapion that can weaken Slowbro, Slowking, and Jellicent, all of which prevent Emboar from clicking using its most powerful STAB move. Entry hazard users such as Omastar, Qwilfish, and Garbodor give Emboar an easier time cleaning up late game late-game by helping to weaken the opposing team; however, the three also share a Ground-type weakness with Emboar. (original wording could be taken as "they share a weakness to Ground with each other") Rapid Spin and Defog users (again, give examples unless there are so few viable users that it's obvious what you mean) can make it more feasible for Emboar to switch in multiple times throughout the course of the game if need be.

Moves
========

Flare Blitz becomes insanely powerful when boosted by both Reckless and Choice Band. It is easily Emboar's most used move and can even break through Pokemon that resist it (such as what? For all you are saying, you are implying that being able to break through Magikarp with Flare Blitz is a terrific feat). Superpower is great for breaking foes in the early game early-game as opponents go to their most sturdy Fire Pokemon that resists Fire; however, it's (AA) a move Emboar doesn't want to be locking itself into if at all possible, (AC) as many Emboar switch-ins (AH) carry recovery moves and can shrug off the first hit and proceed to easily survive the second once Emboar's Attack is lowered. Wild Charge is a very high-risk (AH), (AC) high-reward (AH) move. It gives Emboar the ability to severely damage some of the tier's (AA) best bulky Water-types (AH), (AC) such as including (this is optional) Slowbro, Vaporen, Vaporeon, and Jellicent. Grass Knot makes Expert Belt Emboar a great lure for Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Rhydon, Omastar, and Barbaracle that would look to either come in for free or set up on an otherwise choice-locked (AH) Emboar.

Set Details
========

Holding a Choice Band gives Emboar the ability to simply strong arm (either strong-arm or strongarm) its way through some of its best defensive checks. (RP), (AC) as anything that doesn't quad 4x resist a Flare Blitz or Superpower will likely be taking a huge chunk of damage from them (optional). Unfortunately, (comma) the same can be said for Emboar, as the more damage you it deals with your its recoil moves, the more damage you'll it will take. Expert Belt allows Emboar to take advantage of its great type coverage and exploit some common switch-ins (AH) such as Seismitoad and Omastar by hitting them with a super (AS) effective Grass Knot. An Adamant nature is used for Choice Band sets, (AC) as you Emboar don't doesn't need to buff your its Special Attack when running Sucker Punch. (Don't reference other sets (Kiyo, do keep the part about wallbreaking Emboar sets functioning better with Attack-boosting natures/already outspeeding the relevant threats that they would with Jolly if that's an important reason the set doesn't slash +Spe natures. Zrp, when you're making changes like this, ensure that you aren't also removing content; I believe this rule is more for things like "This appreciates the same partners as the Scarf set" without elaboration))

Usage Tips
========

As with any choiced Choice item-using Pokemon, (AC) you should be careful what move you're locking Choice Band Emboar into and be wary of any set up setup sweepers the opponent has. may have. If the opponent has immunities or quad resistances to any of your attacks then those moves obviously have an inherent risk to clicking them. (that is a given) The last thing you want is an opposing (optional, for clarity) Omastar or Turtonator getting a free Shell Smash because you locked your Emboar into Flare Blitz. Expert Belt sets can take advantage of the slight power buff that super effective Superpower and Wild Charge get to catch the opponent off-guard; for example, if they see that the Wild Charge damage to their Slowbro looks a lot like a low roll from a Choice Band Emboar, they might be inclined to switch into a Ground-type like Steelix to give themselves a free turn. (Kiyo, you should make the blue changes to these two sentences, but you don't have to move or combine them. zrp, I would recommend including justification for changes to paragraph structure like this. otherwise it just looks like you're moving the sentence for no apparent reason, and I see no reason to move this later.)

Team Options
========

Choice Band Sneasel helps Emboar out by trapping weakened Slowbro, Slowking, and Jellicent. Sneasel also, and it appreciates Emboar's (AA) ability to weaken walls so that it can sweep late-game (AH). Solid (do you mean "solid" in the sense of bulky or just good at pivoting?) pivots such as Rotom-C and Golbat give Emboar more opportunities to fire off some powerful attacks by forcing switches and getting off Volt Switches or U-turns, respectively. Golbat also clears the field of entry hazards, which Emboar appreciates, (AC) as it's (AA) already doing a darn good job of wearing itself down quickly with recoil. In a similar vein to the Choice Scarf set, Emboar also appreciates the defensive utility Grass- and Water-types provide. Wallbreaking Emboar sets also appreciate entry hazard support arguably more than Choice Scarf varients. (rewrite this so that it talks about what entry hazard support does for this set; don't compare this set to other sets (Zrp: nice, this is a good application of the no-references rule. consider not marking it in your deletion color if you are commenting on it, since some analysis writers might just delete all the red things before looking at the comments)) Fast threats such as Shell Smash Barbaracle, Choice Scarf Braviary, Minior, Sneasel, and Whimsicott all love that Emboar can get chip damage on nearly every member of the opposing team, whether by forcing switches into hazards or by smacking them foes with powerful attacks. (what do they do for Emboar?)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Emboar has a unique typing that lends itself well to a bulkier set utilizing Leftovers, Will-O-Wisp, Rest, Sleep Talk, and your STAB move of choice. While Emboar's typing allows it to that checks some top-tier (AH) threats such as Sceptile, Sneasel, and Houndoom, it but such a set is typically too passive and is weak to several common attacking types such as, (AC) including Water, Flying, and Ground. Emboar has access to powerful special STAB moves such as Overheat, Fire Blast, and Focus Blast; however, none of these moves get a power boost from Reckless, (AC) so you're Emboar is forced to use a more situational ability in Blaze, (RC) and, (AC) most importantly, (AC) they're all pretty inaccurate moves. Emboar is also one of three Fire-types that has have access to Scald, (AC) which can suprise surprise unsuspecting Fire-types (such as....). Flame Charge can remedy Emboar's (AA) lacking Speed tier on a wallbreaking set, but any turn that (this is optional) Emboar is boosting Speed, you're focused on boosting your Speed, you're it isn't not wallbreaking. This, which kind of defeats the purpose of using it. Emboar has a great movepool, (add comma) but unfortunately some of the cooler options are simply outclassed by its other, better moves. Bulk Up sets are traditionally better done by Pokemon with less common weaknesses and base stats more suited for longevity. (examples?) Taunt, Roar, and Toxic are all great defensive moves, (add comma) but are traditionally better done used by Pokemon with higher base Speeds or more reliable recovery, respectively. ("respectively" doesn't really work here because there are three moves but two things listed here, so could you either clarify or delete "respectively"?)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Water-types**: Defensive Water-types such as Vaporeon, Slowbro, Slowking, Jellicent, Seismitoad, Quagsire, Gastrodon, and Poliwrath force Emboar to either try and muscle through them with Flare Blitz and Superpower, (RC) or lock itself into a more exploitable move in Wild Charge. Jellicent is immune to Superpower, Slowbro and Slowking resist it, and on top of that both Slowbro and Slowking have Regenerator, (add comma) which they can effectively use to scout the move Emboar locks itself into. Expert Belt sets are much more suited to getting through these Pokemon, (add comma) as you're Emboar is more easily able to bluff Choice Scarf and hit them with a surprise attack. Expert Belt sets are also great for removing the Water- (RH)/ Ground- (RH) (I believe you should keep this last hyphen) types that are immune to Wild Charge by utilizing Grass Knot.

**Residual Damage**: Emboar may well be the biggest threat to itself. (RP); (ASC) it's (RA) recoil moves pack a punch, but they are definitely a double-edged sword. Coupled with the fact that Spikes and Stealth Rock are commonplace, Emboar can find itself whittled down before even knocking out a Pokemon.

**Faster Pokemon**: Emboar is extremely slow when not packing a Choice Scarf, and even then there are a few common scarfers Choice Scarf users that outpace it such as, including Braviary, Barbaracle, Delphox, Mesprit, and Rotom, the majority of which can OHKO Emboar with no prior damage. 65 Base base Speed is nothing to write home about, (add comma) and the tier is littered with Water-, Flying-, and Psychic-types that outpace and threaten wallbreaking variants of Emboar. (give examples) Thankfully, the majority of threats to wallbreaking Emboar fear Choice Scarf variants, (AC) which can definitely play into your an Emboar user's favor. (this is optional, but people reading checks and counters may be looking for ways their team can check Emboar, rather than what they should be wary of when they are using Emboar)
I don't know if this is what you mean, but here is a guide to applying for the GP team. Other places you can improve your contributions, ask for guidance, etc. are the GP Workshop, Rate My Check, and the GP discord; Small Objective Changes is useful for amchecking-style contribution to the published Dex. I'm not sure on this, but you may also be able to approach Flying Press staff about grammar amchecking for TFP. Other than that, I believe the most useful way to contribute and improve your contributions is to keep doing what you are right now: practicing C&C amchecks and reading over guides (e.g. On Making Subjective GP Changes) and official checks (even on analyses that you have not checked) to see what GP members are and aren't doing.

In my view, amchecking isn't littering or cluttering C&C so much as it is concretely contributing to the GP process and writers' understanding of grammar, especially if your check is implemented and / or stamped; take this check, for instance, where by and large your changes were accurate and well-reasoned. Amchecking is also ultimately what puts you on the path to checking in a way that is more "official" since checks essentially serve as your resume when you apply to the team.

I don't know if I adequately answered what you asked, but feel free to message me or any other GPer if you have any questions or concerns. Especially consider speaking to the GP leaders, who can most likely shed more light on joining the GP team and may be able to tell you more ways to contribute. No matter how you choose to move forward, good luck, and I hope you continue participating in C&C!

[OVERVIEW]

Emboar is one of NU's most formidable offensive Pokemon. Insanely good dual- (RH) STAB types (do you mean the types or the moves? if it is referring to moves, make it say 'STAB moves') backed by reckless boosted Reckless-boosted Wild Charge makes make (plural subject "types") extremely bulky Water-types the only real switch-ins (AH) to Emboar. While only two Emboar sets are commonplace, (AC) they have very different checks, (add comma) and this only plays into the Emboar user's favor early in the game as the opponent tries to scout your its set. Emboar has a useful defensive typing for offensive teams that always appreciate a soft Fire- and Grass-resisttype check. Being a Fire-type that resists is neutral to Stealth Rock also helps ease some of the strain on teambuilding that other Fire-types may add. Emboar's best counter, Slowbro, also happens to be one of the most common Pokemon in NU. This can be both a burden and a blessing, (add comma) as it makes supporting Emboar more straightforward, but more teams are likely to be prepared for it as well. While Choice Scarf can help salvage Emboar's (AA) middling Speed tier to a certain extent, wallbreaking sets can struggle to get past common Pokemon that outpace it. (such as... (note Choice Scarf users in your list if you add one)) Not to mention there are several viable scarfers that naturally outpace and OHKO the boar. (that is stated in the previous sentence (Zrp: not *all* of it, but good call))

Flare Blitz is Emboar's go-to STAB move and does a ton of damage thanks to the boost from Reckless. Superpower helps Emboar to break (this "to" is OK and in fact more formal afaict, so implementing this is optional) past Rock-types such as Rhydon, Barbaracle, and Omastar that look to switch in on a resisted Flare Blitz. While Superpower does provide solid neutral coverage, (AC) it does give Emboar's foes setup (RS) opportunities once its Attack is weakened. Wild Charge provides solid neutral (isn't it super effective?) coverage against bulky Water-types such as Slowbro and Vaporeon, and it is also boosted by Reckless. Sleep Talk gives Emboar the ability to switch into and check Grass-types such as Lilligant and Vileplume that would otherwise put one of Emboar's teammates out of commission with Sleep Powder. Head Smash allows Emboar to hit some of the tiers bulky Flying-types such as Golbat and the rare Altaria much harder than Wild Charge, albeit at the risk of missing. Head Smash can also be useful when trying to go (optional, but this phrase is not really necessary) for a middle-ground play when one of Emboar's other moves could be more easily exploited by a foe with setup (RS) moves.

Set Details

When packing a Choice Scarf and a Jolly nature, Emboar is able to outrun and threaten several fast Pokemon in the tier, (AC) namely, (RC) Sneasel, Whimsicott, Sceptile, and Virizion.

Usage Tips

Moves

Grass Knot makes Expert Belt Emboar a great lure for Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Rhydon, Omastar, and Barbaracle that would look to either come in for free or set up on an otherwise choice-locked (AH) Emboar.

Set Details
========

(Don't reference other sets (Kiyo, do keep the part about wallbreaking Emboar sets functioning better with Attack-boosting natures/already outspeeding the relevant threats that they would with Jolly if that's an important reason the set doesn't slash +Spe natures.

========

Implemented, thanks guys! Sorry for all the silly mistakes, it's been awhile since I've written one of these.

GP 2/2
[OVERVIEW]

Emboar is one of NU's most formidable offensive Pokemon. Insanely good dual STAB (RH) moves backed by Reckless-boosted Wild Charge make extremely bulky Water-types the only real switch-ins. While only two Emboar sets are commonplace, they have very different checks, and this only plays into the Emboar user's favor early in the game as the opponent tries to scout its set. Emboar has a useful defensive typing for offensive teams that always appreciate a soft Fire- and Grass-type check. Being a Fire-type that is neutral A neutrality (fire typing is implied later in sentence) to Stealth Rock also helps ease some of the strain on teambuilding that other Fire-types may add.

While Superpower does provide provides solid neutral coverage, it does give Emboar's foes set up setup opportunities once its Attack is weakened. Head Smash allows is an option to allow Emboar to hit bulky Flying-types such as Golbat and the rare Altaria much harder than Wild Charge, albeit at the risk of missing. Head Smash It can also be useful for a middle-ground play when one of Emboar's other moves could be easily exploited by a foe with setup moves.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Emboar has the unique quality of being both a powerful and a relatively fast Choice Scarf user. This can allow Emboar to break through some offensive teams that may lack Pokemon that resists resist either Fire or Fighting, as well as simply threatening slower foes and forcing them to switch. Emboar's has decent natural bulk and a unique set of resistances which allow it to switch into certain hits such as Leaf Blade from Virizion, Giga Drain from Sceptile, and Dark Pulse from Houndoom. While it may be tempting to switch Emboar into Sneasel and other common Knock Off users, this is not advised, as preserving the Choice Scarf is almost always more important than avoiding (if I understood this right?) a little chip damage on another Pokemon that resists Dark.

========

Moves
========

However, it also gives the opponent a free switch into any Pokemon with an Electric immunity they may have. Grass Knot makes Expert Belt Emboar a great lure for Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Rhydon, Omastar, and Barbaracle that would look to either come in for free or set up on an otherwise choice-locked Choice-locked Emboar.

Set Details
========

Holding a Choice Band gives Emboar the ability to simply strong arm strongarm its way through some of its best defensive checks; (SC) anything that doesn't quad 4x resist a Flare Blitz or Superpower will likely be taking a huge chunk of damage. Unfortunately the same can be said for Emboar, as the more damage you deal with your its recoil moves, the more damage you'll it'll take. Expert Belt allows Emboar is an option over Choice Band to take advantage of its Emboat's great type coverage and exploit some common switch-ins (AH) such as Seismitoad and Omastar by hitting them with a supereffective Grass Knot. Wallbreaking variants of Emboar function well with Attack-boosting natures and already outspeed most foes they would with a Jolly nature; an Adamant nature is used for Choice Band sets, (AC) as you don't need to buff your special attack Emboar's Special Attack when running Sucker Punch, (comma) whereas Naughty gives the same Attack boost as Adamant without weakening your Grass Knots Knot for the Expert Belt set. Wallbreaking variants of Emboar function well with Attack boosting natures and already outspeed most things they would with a Jolly nature.

Usage Tips
========

Expert Belt sets can take advantage of the slight power buff that super effective(space)Superpower and Wild Charge get to catch the opponent off guard; (RH) for example, if they see that the Wild Charge damage to their Slowbro looks a lot like a low roll from a Choice Band Emboar, they might be inclined to switch into a Ground-type like Steelix to give themselves a free turn.

Team Options
========

Choice Band Sneasel helps Emboar out by trapping weakened Slowbro, Slowking, and Jellicent, and it also appreciates Emboars Emboar's ability to weaken walls so that it can sweep late-game. Dependable pivots such as Rotom-C and Golbat give Emboar more opportunities to fire off some powerful attacks by forcing switches and getting off Volt Switches or U-turns. Golbat also clears the field of entry hazards, which Emboar appreciates, as it's already d wearing itself down quickly with recoil. Emboar also appreciates the defensive utility Grass- and Water-types provide. Wallbreaking Emboar sets appreciate entry hazard support to secure OHKOs and 2HKOs on Pokemon that commonly switch in to into Emboar such as Vaporeon, Slowbro, and Golbat. Fast threats such as Shell Smash Barbaracle, Choice Scarf Braviary, Minior, Sneasel, and Whimsicott all love that Emboar's ability to can get chip damage on nearly every member of the opposing team, whether by forcing switches into hazards or by smacking foes with powerful attacks.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Emboar has access to powerful special STAB moves such as Overheat, Fire Blast, and Focus Blast; however, none of these moves get a power boost from Reckless, so Emboar is forced to use a more situational ability in Blaze, (AC) and, most importantly, they're all pretty inaccurate moves. Taunt, Roar, and Toxic are all great defensive moves, but they are better used by Pokemon with higher base speeds Speed or more reliable recovery.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Water-types**: Defensive Water-types such as Vaporeon, Slowbro, Slowking, Jellicent, Seismitoad, Quagsire, Gastrodon, and Poliwrath force Emboar to either try and muscle muscling through them with Flare Blitz and Superpower or lock itself into a more exploitable move in Wild Charge. Expert Belt sets are also great for removing the Water / Ground types that are immune to Wild Charge by utilizing Grass Knot.

Thankfully, the majority of threats to wallbreaking Emboar fear Choice Scarf variants, (AC) which can definitely play into an Emboar user's favor.
