[OVERVIEW]
*Empoleon's great typing and decent special defensive bulk allow it to wall many common special attackers in the metagame
*It separates itself from Blissey with access to STAB Scald, which does decent damage to common physical threats switching in
*With no real recovery options, it struggles to stay alive in longer drawn out battles.
*With a weakness to Earthquake, it has trouble against many physical attackers, despite having okay physical bulk without investment.

Moves
=======

Scald is a powerful STAB move that does respectable damage to offensive pokemon switching in to Empoleon even without any SpA investment, and the chance to burn can cripple an opposing physical attacker.
Stealth Rock is a no-brainer, and Empoleon is bulky enough to where it has plenty of opportunities to set them.
Defog is an option for teams that need hazard removal.
Roar can be used to prevent Empoleon from being set up fodder, and can do chip damage when rocks have been set up.
Ice Beam has a niche in the UU metagame, as it deals super effective damage to pokemon like Tsareena and Togekiss.

Set Details
========

With excellent Water-Steel typing and maximum special defense investment, Empoleon is able to wall many special attackers in the UU metagame such as Primarina, Togekiss, and Alolan Ninetales. With no recovery moves available to it, Empoleon becomes extremely reliant on leftovers for its longevity, so it should be very wary of knock off users. Despite maximum HP investment, Empoleon has trouble dealing with Physical attackers that carry earthquake.

Usage Tips
========

Empoleon is best used as a go-to switch in for opposing special attackers, giving it a chance to eat up a hit, and then set up stealth rocks for your team. If it carries defog, it is also a fairly strong anti-lead against Forretress or Azelf, as it has no problem taking hits and can defog away stealth rocks and spikes. Empoleon's immunity to toxic keeps it from being stalled out by pokemon like Alomomola or Amoonguss

Checks and Counters
=============

Empoleon is checked by hard hitting physical attackers such as Metagross, Conkledurr, or Crawdaunt, as these pokemon usually have no trouble taking a Scald on the switch in, and then dealing super effective damage to Empoleon.
