ORAS LC fr*ck (peaked top 500)

Introduction
Welcome to "fr*ck," a team made by me! Something I usually do is watch replays from the current meta and good players (SPL and LCPL 5), this is a quick way to see what the current threats and popular builds are. I noticed that many LC players were beginning less Spritzee checks on their teams. They usually only brought Pawniard, Magnemite, Ponyta or Foongus as their Spritzee, which is why I decided to build around Magnet Pull Magnemite paired with Calm Mind Spritzee/Gothita, aka the new FletchDig/BU Timburr + Pursuit. I built this team when LC Open was coming up and wanted a team that had a good match-up against the popular Balance and Bulky Offense playstyle. I ended up switching Spritzee for Pawniard to help deal with Gastly and Gothita, which annihilated the team. Since ORAS is coming to an end, might as well reveal one of my most successful team used throughout LC Open. s/o Hairy Toenail for trusting my horrible teams LOL and getting to semis in LC Open. Sorry for not getting you into finals and making GS playoffs :(.

Teambuilding

I like Magnemite and trapping is fun.

CM Spritzee (less spritz check = good) and CM Gothita (double trapping is fun) benefits when Steel-types go poof.

Wow!!! Goth traps Spritzee and Poison-types, why not just add another win con???

Added my most used pokemon cause it covers some threats and supports the team.

When in doubt add Foongus.

Swapped out Spritzee for Choice Scarf Pawniard to deal with Gastly and Gothita, two huge threats.

Analysis

Magnemite ~ capteon | Ability: Magnet Pull | Shiny: Yes
Modest Nature | EVs: 236 HP / 200 Def | IVs: 1 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SpA / 30 SpD / 30 Spe
Flash Cannon | Hidden Power [Fighting] | Thunderbolt | Volt Switch

Magnemite is the star of the team, being able to trap Pawniard for Gothita to sweep is incredible.

Flash Cannon helps deal with opposing Fairy- and Rock-types. Hidden Power [Fighting] allows me to trap Pawniard/Ferroseed and OHKO Pawniard after being chipped/3HKO Ferroseed. After playing around with the EVs, I decided that 236 HP / 200 Def with Modest Nature is the best because this allows Magnemite to switch into Pawniard and live a combination of Knock Off and Sucker Punch after Stealth Rock or Knock Off into Iron Head flinch then a Sucker Punch with no Stealth Rock on the field, both 99% of the time, while OHKOing it after being chipped with Hidden Power [Fighting].

oo: Choice Scarf, (Magnet Rise or Thunder Wave over Thunderbolt)

Gothita ~ oma | Ability: Shadow Tag
Timid Nature | EVs: 236 HP / 36 Def / 236 SpD
Calm Mind | Psychic | Rest | Substitute

Gothita supports the team by trapping Poison-types, Porygon, Abra, non-Calm Mind Spritzee and Staryu. It also acts as a sweeper once their Dark-type is gone.

The first three moves (Calm Mind to trap special attackers and set up on it, Psychic as STAB since the meta is physically defense based and this allows Gothita to sweep easier, to deal with non-Calm Mind Spritzee, and Rest as it is Gothita's only recovery) are standard so it can set up on most special attackers, while Substitute allows it to be safe from crits and Pursuit. The EVs are a little bit funky, but it works because it helps deal with two strong special threats, Life Orb Abra and Download Porygon (Gothita is able to switch-in then sets up Calm Mind and proceeds to outstall unless luck happens). Also less defense EVs doesn't matter because Gothita is most likely behind a sub after trapping something and is mainly used for special attackers.

oo: Psyshock over Psychic, Sleep Talk or Thunderbolt over Substitute

Timburr ~ waterlessmelon | Ability: Guts
Jolly Nature | EVs: 76 HP / 36 Atk / 156 Def / 156 SpD / 76 Spe
Bulk Up | Drain Punch | Knock Off | Mach Punch

Timburr's role is to help deal with opposing weakened sweepers, a secondary Pawniard check and Knock Off support.

Bulk Up Timburr gave me a secondary win con. Drain Punch gives me a strong STAB and pseudo-recovery. Knock Off is used because the team needed something to remove opposing items and hits Ghost-types. Mach Punch is for Carvanha, Pawniard and Shell Smashers or to do chip damage before dying. The EVs are not standard at all because my team had difficulty with Download Porygon and didn't want to rely only on Gothita,, so I wanted Timburr to outspeed it and revenge kill it. I didn't really need 14 Special Defense because my team deals with special attackers extremely well, so I wanted Timburr to deal with physical attacks which is why I did 14 Defense and 25 HP and dumped the rest into Attack so it wouldn't be that weak. Another bonus is you should win Timburr wars if it happens because of the extra speed you have.

oo: Poison Jab, a Rock-type move or Superpower over Bulk Up

Staryu ~ lax | Ability: Natural Cure
Timid Nature | EVs: 116 HP / 156 Def / 236 Spe
Rapid Spin | Recover | Scald | Thunderbolt

Staryu is a reliable spinner, a Fire and Water resist with reliable recovery, and a fast mon to deal with Gastly, a huge threat to the team so far.

Rapid Spin is mainly for hazard stacking teams and Stealth Rock being annoying to the team. Recover is so I can stay healthy for Fire-, Water- and Ground-types. I chose Scald because it is Staryu's best defensive STAB since it can burn. Thunderbolt is to deal with and to make it not set up bait against opposing Water-types. The EVs are standard because I wanted Staryu to deal with Ponyta and Corphish, while hitting 19 speed. Staryu is able to check a significant amount of threats because of its speed tier.

oo: Ice Beam, Psychic, Thunder Wave or Toxic over Thunderbolt

Foongus ~ corporal levi | Ability: Regenerator
Calm Nature | EVs: 124 HP / 236 Def / 80 SpD | IVs: 1 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 SpD

Giga Drain | Hidden Power [Ground] | Sludge Bomb | Spore

Foongus, THE POKEMON WHO SHOULD BE IN S-RANK, helps with Fighting-, Grass- and Water-types, Knock Off sponge, and an amazing pivot due to it's ability, 'Regenerator' and typing.

Giga Drain is reliable STAB and gives extra recovery. Hidden Power [Ground] is mainly for luring Magnemite. Sludge Bomb is to hit Fairy and Grass hard and can poison Foongus' checks or counters. Spore is cripples switch-ins and people who try to set up on it. EVs are standard because it hits 25/14/14 before Eviolite which makes it difficult to kill. Overall Foongus is a great pick because of its resistances and ability to pivot.

oo: Clear Smog, Hidden Power [Fighting, Fire or Psychic] or Stun Spore over Hidden Power [Ground]

Pawniard ~ ajna | Ability: Defiant
Naive Nature | EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SpA / 196 Spe
Iron Head | Knock Off | Pursuit | Snarl

Pawniard helps with Gastly and Gothita, also providing a solid revenge killer for the team.

Iron Head and Knock Off are strong offensive typing STABs. This allows Pawniard to weaken it's checks and either have a late game sweep or break for the rest of the team. Pursuit is a must since it it enables Pawniard to trap Gastly and Gothita. Snarl may seem weird, but it lets Pawniard to revenge kill either Gastly or Abra behind a Subsitute which is a threat since they are able to 2 HKO or OHKO most of the team. The EVs are standard bar the 36 SpA to OHKO Gastly and Abra most of the time.

oo: Brick Break or Stealth Rock over Snarl
