Kabutops

  • High Atk and good movepool lets it damage most things
  • This + Swift Swim makes it powerful rain abuser.
  • Swift Swim abuse for sweeps.
  • Rain is extremely powerful, but very match-up dependent.
  • High speed tier -> Jolly Scarf outspeeds any non-boosted non-scarfs except Ninjask and Electrode.
  • Scarf for revenge-killing.
  • Scarf is quite splashable and can fit on a bunch of teams.
Rain Abuse
move 1: Waterfall
move 2: Stone Edge
move 3: Swords Dance
move 4: Superpower/Aqua Jet
item: Rockium Z/Life Orb
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk/252 Spe

Moves
  • Waterfall is main STAB in rain.
  • Stone Edge is powerful secondary STAB.
  • Superpower for coverage.
  • Aqua Jet for priority- deal with other priority moves, or the rare case Kabutops is outsped.
  • Swords Dance for when forcing a switch.

Set Details
  • Adamant for max power.
  • Max Atk & Speed to damage as much as possible.
  • Swift Swim to abuse rain.
  • Rockium Z to allow 1 time nuke.
  • Life Orb to allow general power if Rockium Z not desirable.

Usage Tips
  • Set up rain then sweep with STABs and Superpower.
  • SD if facing a wall or predicting a switch.

Team Options
  • Rain setters- Liepard, Volbeat, Mesprit, Swanna.
  • Rain abusers- Ludicolo, Poliwrath, Gorebyss, Huntail, Floatzel.

Choice Scarf
move 1: Stone Edge
move 2: Waterfall
move 3: Superpower
move 4: Aqua Jet
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk/252 Spe

Moves
  • Stone Edge is main STAB.
  • Waterfall is reliable secondary STAB
  • Superpower for coverage.
  • Aqua Jet for priority- deal with other priority moves, or the rare case Kabutops is outsped.

Set Details
  • Jolly for adequate speed- too slow to function well as a scarf if Adamant.
  • Max Atk & Speed to damage as much as possible.
  • Choice Scarf to boost speed.
  • Swift Swim in case opposing team has rain

Usage Tips
  • Useful revenge killer
  • Deals with fast, unboosted mon.

Team Options
  • Stuff to take Will-O-Wisps- Gurdurr is good.
  • Checks to grass-types- Magmortar and Oricorio-Sensu especially.
  • Special attackers.
  • Anything that likes having fire-types removed, e.g. Lilligant.

Other Options
  • Rock Slide as more accurate Stone Edge- not usually worth it for less power.
  • X-Scissor for Shiftry, Cacturne, and Exeggutor.
  • Z-Dig to hit Lanturn.
  • Z-Aerial Ace to hit Poliwrath.
  • Knock Off for Eviolite users and to hit Gourgeist a little harder.
  • Can drop Swords Dance for Rain Dance so it can set weather- damp rock is sensible here.
  • Could use Facade, but better just to switch into something which doesn't mind the relevant status.
  • Can set Stealth Rocks, but outclassed here by Carracosta and Lycanroc-Day.
  • High Def and respectable HP and SpD make an assault vest set seem possible, but the lack of recovery attacks and being outclassed here by Carracosta make this a bad idea.

Checks and Counters
  • Rain stopping- Abomasnow, sun or sand setters.
  • Faster pokemon- Electrode, Z-Dig Ninjask, Lilligant at +1.
  • Faster Scarfs- Primeape, Haunter, Lilligant, Rotom-F, Shiftry, Monferno, Leafeon.
  • Physical walls- Ferroseed, Gourgeist-XL, Weezing, Mesprit, Sableye, Cradilly, Granbull, Qwilfish.
  • Status- Burn and Paralysis most annoying.

offensive spinner needs its own set, and this analysis doesn't use the proper format which you can find linked in the OP of the reservation thread. also most of this is just really subpar, there's practically no detail and most of the bullets are things I'd instantly know by looking at the kabu's stats, movepool, or a type matchup chart. before this goes into QC I highly recommend you put a lot more work into this

What's wrong with the format? I'd thought I'd copied the format pretty much exactly.
