Duosion can beat standard CM Clefairy with relative ease barring a bunch of full paras as it can CM up along side Clef and beat it using Psyshock, which does damage based on Phys Def not Spdef. Running Encore over Thunder Wave means Clef can lock Duosion into Calm Mind and boost up while Duosion is unable to Recover or attack back. 8 Speed EVs are used to beat other CM Clefairys.

- Dazzling Gleam

Scarf Mr. Mime is essentially, set-up bait for Duosion. The standard Scarf-Mime set involves Dazzling Gleam which 3HKO's Duosion (before Calm Minds), Psychic and Focus Blast won't even dent Duosion, therefore it has many opportunities to spam Calm Mind. Replacing Healing Wish with Trick allows Mr. Mime to cripple Duosion severely; it will be unable to boost up with Calm Mind or Recover. Duosion will also lose it's Eviolite in the process, which ultimately puts it in range of a 2-3HKO from Dazzling Gleam.

Switcheroo cripples Duosin and prevents it from setting up further. The reason why I am suggesting Seviper as a lure, is because Duosin is more likely to stay in and click Psyshock against it (as Seviper can do nothing in return) or use it as set up fodder if the Duosin user is greedy.

Seviper can easily be paired with Metang / Pawn or a slow dark type breaker such as Cacturne to take advantage of a Duosin that is stuck in Psyshock or a Duosin that is stuck on a set-up / recover move.

Duosion is pretty tough to lure since it's not as easy as slappping on some coverage move to 2HKO it. Thus it's important to approach it differently and use other options.

It turns out that Duosion actually sets up and beats regular SD Bouff 1v1, since Duosion can Acid Armor alongside Bouff's Swords Dance. Taunt Bouffalant helps against this really well, with Taunt preventing Duosion from recovering or setting up, while Bouffalant can set up to +2 with Swords Dance and 2HKO Duosion with Frustration. This set also helps against other slower defensive mons not named Gourgeist that may try to stop Bouffalant with status or otherwise; it's also helpful in the sense that it may come in handy when trying to stop Spikes or Stealth Rock. Swords Dance can be used to threaten defensive teams, or Toxic to whittle defensive answers to Bouffalant.

Standard Defensive Duosion can take on Swords Dance Monferno really well as even Adamant Life Orb Flare Blitz doesn't 2HKO 90% of the time. On the other hand, Special Monferno can take advantage of Duosion's weaker defensive side and grab an easy 2HKO with Fire Blast. Alternatively you can Nasty Plot on the switch in and still grab the OHKO on Duosion most of the time too.

252 SpA Life Orb Monferno Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Duosion: 168-199 (50.2 - 59.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 SpA Life Orb Monferno Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Duosion: 333-394 (99.7 - 117.9%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

Adamant Nature

- X-Scissor

The way this set works is simple- set up a coil on the switch in, and then attack on the next turn. If you fear the Thunder Wave, you can X-Scizzor it, while knowing that you can live a Psychic, unless it crits, thanks to the Payapa Berry. You can also Sucker Punch it and do the amount of damage as X-Scizzor would, but without taking the damage. Both X-Scizzor and Sucker Punch are guaranteed to KO.

+1 252+ Atk Seviper X-Scissor vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Grumpig: 340-402 (105.9 - 125.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

One of the biggest threats to Special Attacking Floatzel is obviously a special attacking pokemon. Grumpig, who not only has a special defense stat of 120, has thick fat to further take on standard special Floatzel. This set catches unsuspecting opponents off guard, replacing the typical Hydro Pump/HP Electric/Focus Blast with Crunch. Look at this calc:

172 SpA Floatzel Surf vs. 80 HP / 0 SpD Grumpig: 94-112 (29.2 - 34.8%)
80 Atk Floatzel Crunch vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Grumpig: 184-218 (57.3 - 67.9%)

Without predicting very hard, Floatzel can pull a clean 86.5%-102.7% If Stealth Rocks are up, the chance that this Floatzel will pick up the KO is over 95%. That's huge!

Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Energy Ball

Okay so this isn't Banded Swoobat or Papaya Berry Seviper levels of genius but Life Orb Ninetales with Dark Pulse works pretty well at luring Grumpig. Thanks to thick fat, Grumpig can take Ninetales' fire attacks really well and Energy Ball doesn't do too much either but by adding Dark Pulse it allows Ninetales to grab the 2HKO or the OHKO after a Nasty Plot and rocks.

252 SpA Life Orb Ninetales Dark Pulse vs. 80 HP / 0 SpD Grumpig: 153-182 (47.6 - 56.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+2 252 SpA Life Orb Ninetales Dark Pulse vs. 80 HP / 0 SpD Grumpig: 307-361 (95.6 - 112.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Careful Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Mirror Coat
- Avalanche
- Recover / Earthquake

Grumpig can easily switch in to Avalugg's Avalanche or Earthquake easily (taking a maximum of 43% with Earthquake and 16% with an unboosted Avalanche) and can retaliate with Focus Blast which hits Avalugg hard due to it's terrible SpDef stat. Since Avalugg has access to Mirror Coat, it will be able to OHKO Grumpig when it does land a successful Focus Blast.

Mr. Mime @ Life Orb
Ability: Soundproof / Filter
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Psyshock
- Dazzling Gleam
- Shadow Ball

Simple but effective lure here. Grumpig can easily switch in on standard Scarf Mime and can switch into standard NP decently and either cripple it with Twave or 2hko with Shadow Ball. LO Shadow Ball will easily 2hko pretty much any Offensive variant of Grumpig. Filter can be used to better take Grumpig's Shadow Ball making it a 2hko only 6% of the time and will never 2hko if the Grumpig is Timid. I'd only recommend this if you have a solid Chatot check somewhere else on the team. This set of course means giving up Fighting coverage for steels, but you can still hit them all for at least neutral damage as well as hitting Metang harder.

Calcs that show Pig can switch in and beat Mime 1v1:
252 SpA Mr. Mime Dazzling Gleam vs. 80 HP / 0 SpD Grumpig: 102-120 (31.7 - 37.3%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Life Orb Mr. Mime Dazzling Gleam vs. 80 HP / 0 SpD Grumpig: 133-156 (41.4 - 48.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Grumpig Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mr. Mime: 116-138 (52.4 - 62.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Calcs For SB Mime:
252 SpA Life Orb Mr. Mime Shadow Ball vs. 80 HP / 0 SpD Grumpig: 177-208 (55.1 - 64.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Grumpig Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Filter Mr. Mime: 96-114 (43.4 - 51.5%) -- 6.6% chance to 2HKO

252 SpA Grumpig Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Filter Mr. Mime: 87-103 (39.3 - 46.6%) -- 28.1% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Bulkier Grumpig spread calc because why not:
252 SpA Life Orb Mr. Mime Shadow Ball vs. 160 HP / 0 SpD Grumpig: 177-208 (51.9 - 60.9%) -- 94.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
