Sableye @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SpD
Careful Nature
- Recover
- Will-O-Wisp
- Knock Off
- Foul Play

Mega Sableye's Fighting-type immunity, access to two great abilities before and after Mega Evolving, and great bulk help carve its niche on Dark-type teams. Its access to Magic Bounce allows balanced Dark teams to excel, as it can support teammates by stopping common entry hazard setters such as Chansey, Cobalion, and Skarmory. It can also switch into status such as Toxic and Will-O-Wisp for teammates like Mandibuzz and Alolan Muk. Sableye's ability Prankster before Mega Evolving is fantastic, as it allows Will-O-Wisp to gain priority against threatening physical attackers such as Terrakion and Tapu Bulu. The moveset is pretty self-explanatory. Foul Play threatens physical setup sweepers, and Knock Off provides fantastic utility that can help weaken Pokemon that are dependent on their item, such as Chansey and Choice Scarf users such as Excadrill. Even with all this, Mega Sableye has a massive weakness to special setup sweepers such as Volcarona, which is where its teammates come in. Tyranitar makes a great teammate, as it can take out special setup sweepers like Volcarona and other special attackers that threaten Mega Sableye, like Mega Charizard Y. Other good teammates include the aforementioned Mandibuzz and Alolan Muk, as together they can cover most weaknesses, forming a solid defensive core for Dark-type teams. Alolan Muk can help with Fairy-types like Tapu Koko, and Mandibuzz can help Mega Sableye shut down opposing balance teams with Taunt. Wallbreakers such as Bisharp are great teammates as well, as they can smash through opposing balance teams that the Dark-type balance core can't get through.

Mega Sableye’s Fighting-type immunity, access to two great abilities before and after Mega Evolving, and great bulk help carve its niche on Dark-type teams. Its access to Magic Bounce allows balanced dark teams to excel, as it can support teammates by stopping common Stealth Rock usershazard setters such as Chansey, Cobalion, and Skarmory. It can also switch into status such as Toxic and Will-O-Wisp for teammates like Mandibuzz and Muk Alola, respectively. Sableye’s ability before Mega Evolving is fantastic as Prankster allows it’s Will-O-Wisp to gain priority against threatening physical attackers such as Terrakion and Tapu Bulu. The moveset is pretty self-explanatory, Foul Play preventsthreatens physical set up sweepers from setting up in its face, and Knock Off is fantastic utility that can help weaken Pokemon that are dependent on their item, such as Chanseyand Choice Scarf users such as x. Will-O-Wisp allows Mega Sableye to cripple physical attackers and Recover gives it a form of sustain. (Mention a downside to Mega Sableye, such as being setup fodder for Special Boosters like Volcarona and mention a means for Dark to overcome that) Great teammates include the aforementioned Mandibuzz and Muk Alola, as together they can cover most weaknesses (specify briefly what each of these cover defensively when combined), forming a solid defensive core for Dark-type teams. Wallbreakers such as Bisharp are great teammates as well, as they can smash through opposing balance teams that the Dark-type balance core can’t get through.
