Did you used to spam steel type when steel had all the broken shit? Now do you struggle vs flying teams after the ban of mega metagross?? Do you fucking HATE getting walled by the gliscor/zapdos/skarm/mantine core? Well it's time to ditch steel's sorry ass and use poison and cteam the shit out of flying. These sets are pretty self explanatory and just own poor flying teams. I gave these to Shake to use in bo3 vs Shadestep (forfeit like turn 11 or something) and some other dude who also got owned. These 2 mons were also part of the teams we used for like 60% of our SM games :p

Gothitelle @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 196 HP / 252 SpA / 60 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt / Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave

The iconic goth set that pretty much every SMer has used at least once. I made the goth / rachi / tini / megamedicham / lati / slowbro team based off of Goth + MegaCham destroying the meta, resulting in its ban. With cham being banned the core is gone but goth is still amazing for most Psychic teams. Some examples: trap opposing Psychic team's slowbro and then victini sweep, trap heatran and cripple it/do a lot for tini sweep, thunder wave dark type threats like greninja and hydreigon, kill idiot skarms/hippos, the list is really endless. Goth is just an overall great mon with lots of utility.

Various other sets that aren't super "standard" and sets that my team didn't get to show off cuz were boring and usually used standard stuff

Most of the teams I used this mpl were made by Eien and Paleo, but I did end up coming up with a few ideas which were honestly meant to hard cteam a type or player. Unfortunately, I was only able to use one of my teams once this entire mpl and even then, I didn't really get to show off the tech that I had on the team

Was going to use this against Dom in W1, but I got worried he'd bring some type other than ground and steel. Lando is just meant to destroy steel and ground, as z-eq lets it just hit hard. If lando is allowed to set up, then it becomes even more of an issue. Exca in sand gets a lot of support from gravity and can potentially clean up after Lando and Chomp deal a lot of damage. Seis' spread is to outspeed max speed azu (in case some dude runs jolly azu) while also having some bulk with av. Duggy can trap bulu and take it out or weaken it with sludge wave and it can help lando set up with a fast memento.

Anti-Steel Tini

Victini @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Blue Flare
- Focus Blast
- Bolt Strike
- Flame Charge

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 148 SpD / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Giga Drain
- Psychic
- Recover

Latios @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Trick
- Thunderbolt

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Healing Wish

Medicham-Mega @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch
- Fake Out

Mew @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 248 HP / 152 Def / 108 Spe
Impish Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost
- Defog
- Knock Off

Used this against seager in W2. Although celebi ended up being the major win con as the game progressed, I was really hoping to show off the tini set I came up with (I expected seager to bring steel). Z-Focus blast is there to lure trans on steel teams and then clean up with flame charge + blue flare

SM Sets

Z-Vcreate Tini + Goth

Victini @ Firium Z
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- U-turn
- Flame Charge

Gothitelle @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder Wave
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Energy Ball
- Psychic

After making the initial z-focus tini set, I wanted to try z-vcreate on tini. Same concept as the earlier tini set: flame charge and then proceed to clean steel teams. Z-vcreate is different than z-focus in that it helps with the bug mu that psychic teams have to deal with. Goth was just paired with tini to trap heatran

Doghorse Empoleon

Empoleon @ Waterium Z
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Agility
- Surf
- Ice Beam

Honestly, don't ever bother using this set unless you're planning on losing a match. Idk how this set will ever work on a steel or water team, but let me know if you somehow found a way to use it successfully

I rarely play mono, but this mpl was pretty fun for me. Glad to have gotten to meet more people such as Void and HMNIP through this. Thanks to Yaksok and Paleo for drafting me, and gl to everybody else in anything they pursue on this site
