Well that was certainly conclusive: congratulations to Watchog for winning! Throh is a pretty rare Pokémon but has a place on Spikes stacking teams, especially alongside Band Primeape as a good partner for forcing switches and providing some extra coverage. Trying out another rare type this week, it's time for
cores! Fairy coverage is pretty strong offensively, and although the type is less useful than in higher tiers due to the lack of relevant Dragons, it's still pretty good. Water- and Ground-types then deal with Steel- and Poison-types while pressuring Fire-types and providing strong defensive synergy.

Submission deadline is Friday 22nd July at 18:00 GMT. Have fun!

This core is pretty quick and simple Mawile passes SD boosts to Carracoste or Torterra and from there they set up a Rock Polish and deal with a bit of the team. Carracosta also deals with the ice types Torterra hate while Torterra deals with ground types for Mawile and Carracosta. Mawile also deal with the grass types trying to kill Carracosta. Carracosta also deals with fire attacks aimed at Mawile and Torterra.

Carracosta @ Leftovers

so this core is based around clefairy, which is a pretty cool spdef pokemon that checks stuff. torterra checks its counters such as steelix, sets up rocks to help it sweep and is a great wall overall. lanturn gives momentum and makes it easier for you to place clefairy ; it also is a great switch-in to fire-type moves.

This is your usually go to core if using Stall in NU. Add Sliggoo and a hazard remover and your stall team is complete.

gO! (Mawile) @ Life Orb

Naughty Nature
- Play Rough

Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald

Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge/Knock off
- Swords Dance

So this core basically focuses on the wallbreaking capabilities of these underrated NU mons, as SpecsPoli deals a lot of damage when it's checks and counters are gone. I chose mawile cause it deals with specially defensive pokemon like sliggoo, yama, and lanturn, while also luring gastro, and at the right predict, has a high chance to 2HKO with Play Rough. Sandslash on the other hand, is a pretty cool spinner, and plows through bulk teams through SD, also to the help of mawile removing the likes of gastro.

Also, despite this core has sandslash, it has problems with electric types, especially lanturn, as well as a lot of special attackers in the tier. Make sure to give the core a solid backbone that mitigates those weakness, while keeping the offensive momentum.

Edit: Still thinking Sandslash wasn't perfect for this, and thinking this post highlights more on mawile+poli, and sandslash's underrated capabilities

Here's a Balance core with FWG (haha not fire water grass; get fooled) with Offensive M-Audino and standard defensive Lanturn + Steelix. Mega Audino deals with Poison-types such as Weezing and Garbodor so they can no longer annoy Steelix and Lanturn. MAudino is still walled by AV Magmortar which makes Lanturn a great partner for it. Steelix is a great overall check to Kangaskhan, Tauros, Psychics, etc.
overall a really solid core!

Audino @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dazzling Gleam
- Fire Blast
- Psychic

Lanturn (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 40 HP / 156 Def / 204 SpD / 108 Spe
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Volt Switch
- Heal Bell

Steelix @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 128 Atk / 132 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock

Welp, This is an old core i used a time ago, The Dancer Dino is an Amazing Mon, that can break the entire opposing team, if is not prepared for faciNG it, Sadly, They are some Physical Bulky Grass Types as Tangela, Torterra or Vileplume that wall Rhydon, as effect of the Lack of MegaHorn, there is where comes Mr. Mime, With Specs, being a Huge SpA Offensive Threat, Mr. Mime at least 2HKOes every physical wall, and wins against common walls in the tier, as Garbodor, or Weezing. At Least, Poli is a Water Absorb mon, that can help Rhydon Taking the water attacKs that can easily Dino it, And helps Mr. Mime with some Steel Types Walls, Poli has Vacuum Wave to kill Some Normal Type fast threats, as Zangoose or Tauros (if it Stay). Initially, i was running Jynx instead Mr Mime, but i´ve tested the team with Mr. Mime, and Mime fits pretty well, too. This is an Offense core, for people who likes an ofensive playstyle.

Rhydon @ Eviolite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rock Polish
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance

Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Focus Blast
- Ice Beam
- Vacuum Wave

Mr. Mime @ Choice Specs
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Focus Blast
- Healing Wish

GL Everyone!

Here's a rather interesting offensive core I thought up with DD Rhydon, Special Samurott and Defensive M-Audino. Since Rhydon and SD Samurott have a lot of common switch-ins, Samurott functions as a lure, baiting in Rhydon's checks and weakening them greatly with its Life Orb boosted coverage moves. Audino acts as a defensive pivot and cleric who can stomach powerful hits and aid Rhydon by healing any damage or burns that may afflict it.

Rhydon @ Eviolite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

Samurott @ Life Orb
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Taunt

Audino @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
- Dazzling Gleam

252+ SpA Life Orb Samurott Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Vileplume: 268-317 (75.7 - 89.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252+ SpA Life Orb Samurott Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Gourgeist-Super: 309-367 (82.6 - 98.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Samurott Grass Knot (80 BP) vs. 96 HP / 0 SpD Poliwrath: 239-283 (69.2 - 82%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Life Orb Samurott Grass Knot (60 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Gastrodon: 390-463 (91.5 - 108.6%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

and

Congratulations to Earth and Shadestep for winning this week! As predicted most of these cores have been defensive due to the excellent synergy between the types provided, but some interesting offensive cores, particularly using Mawile, have also been seen. The theme this week is
! There aren't many viable Bug-types in NU outside of the big three of Scyther, Vivillon, and Pinsir, but these are all big threats in the metagame that appreciate the offensive synergy that Fighting- and Flying-types provide to break through checks, as well as a decent range of anti-hazard mons.

The deadline for this week is Friday 29th July at 18:00 GMT(ish). Have fun!

Scyther @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Aerial Ace
- Knock Off
- Quick Attack

Hitmonchan @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Rapid Spin

Swellow @ Choice Specs
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Boomburst
- U-turn
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Getting dibs on this before anyone else posts it. Anyway, the way this works is simple. Its a VoltTurn core weak to Stealth Rock, which Hitmonchan completely covers. Scyther breaks down special walls and adds Knock Off support, Swellow takes care of physical walls, and the you get the drift. Hazard support is recommended to maximize the power provided with these three. Hidden Power Grass on Swellow is there to lure in Pokemon such as Rhydon and Carracosta that the other two members of the team, well, don't have the best of times with.

It's not a new core, but sash archeops/viv/hitmon still can break a lot of stuff very easily, and slots extremely well into a HO team:

Archeops @ Focus Sash
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Head Smash
- Taunt
- Endeavor
- Stealth Rock

Hitmonchan (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Punch

Vivillon @ Leftovers
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Quiver Dance
- Hurricane
- Sleep Powder

Basically, the idea is that archeops can lure pretty much all flying resists in, endeavor them to 1hp, and given that a lot of teams only really carry 1-2 flying resists, you can easily take care of the other one, and sweep with sub vivillon (imo the most effective set right now). Hitmonchan can often help to break the enemy team's other flying resist, and keeps the field hazard free, allowing you to play a lot more aggressively with vivillon.

Think I may be accidentally copying this from someone, will update and credit them when I find them. Edit: Couldn't find anything. If you believe I'm accidentally plagiarizing you, pm me and I can either remove/credit you.
