i think the set is self-explanatory lol, scald to break sub, circle throw to kill it, aurorus does nothing back to poli too.

And we must keep moving!

Counter: Bronzong (Yoshiblaze) | Piloswine (EviGaro) | Hariyama (Don Honchkrorleone)
Check: Sneasel (iChatot) | Alomomola (Ryoma Nagare)
Special mention: Poliwrath (TraceofLife)
Missed 1 check for the round 3 on counters and checks but at this point I can live with that. Anyways, moving on:

Victim of this week is:

Banette-Mega @ Banettite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Claw
- Sucker Punch / Shadow Sneak

Ah, Mega Banette. This Pokemon can be pretty controversial, described as a shitty mon by many and praised by very few people, this Pokemon is actually a respectable force to be reckoned. Knock Off + Will-O-Wisp is a incredibly annoying combination that finds very easy ways to cause trouble to teams and despite not having the strongest STAB, 165 base Attack still hits like a truck. It wants plenty of moves at times but this has proven to be a really consistent moveset (tested it and tried it myself, good results). Shoutouts to Omfuga for always trusting on this mon.

I WILL NOT PUT A DEADLINE FOR RESERVATIONS TO GET DONE BUT PLEASE, GET THEM DONE OR I MAY AS WELL TAKE THEM FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER. DO YOUR RESERVATIONS PLEASE, IT DOESNT TAKE LONG -_-.

Reserving Houndoom

Houndoom @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power Water / Anything

Check

I love Mega Banette.
I hate Houndoom.
But alas, I shouldn't let my bias get in the way of a good suggestion for anyone who has problems dealing with the doll. Houndoom can switch into anything Banette can throw at it and OHKO it with Dark Pulse. Thanks to Flash Fire, it can even take advantage of baiting out a Will-O-Wisp. However, it doesn't appreciate taking a Shadow Claw and losing your Life Orb to Knock Off sucks, which is why it's just a check.

252 SpA Life Orb Houndoom Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Banette: 354-421 (131.5 - 156.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ Atk Mega Banette Shadow Claw vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Houndoom: 129-153 (44.3 - 52.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ Atk Mega Banette Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Houndoom: 119-141 (40.8 - 48.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Reserving Scrafty purely to snipe Ryoma.

Scrafty @ Leftovers
Ability: Shed Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off
- Rest
- Dragon Dance

This Banette set is largely setup fodder for Scrafty, as Shadow Claw is the only thing that deals real damage to it. However, Rest + Shed Skin both make it a non-issue, and while Banette can ditch a last effort wisp, it can't beat it and puts too much stress on the rest of the team. Also, Scrafty's recovery, while not ideal, and resistance to rocks give it a clear advantage in the switch game between the two. All in all, Scrafty qualifies as a counter to this set.

252+ Atk Mega Banette Shadow Claw vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Scrafty: 67-79 (24.7 - 29.1%) -- guaranteed 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 Atk Scrafty Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 56 Def Mega Banette: 294-348 (109.2 - 129.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+3 252 Atk burned Scrafty Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 56 Def Mega Banette: 244-288 (90.7 - 107%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

- Dark Pulse

Set is weird, but still does a good job in countering Banette, doesn't mind burn, takes little damage from any attack Banette does, and in return OHKOs.

252+ SpA Expert Belt Skuntank Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Banette: 274-324 (101.8 - 120.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Emboar as a check

Emboar @ Leftovers
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower / Low Kick (There are times I prefer it on teams, but SP is usually better)
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

252+ Atk Mega Banette Shadow Claw vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Emboar: 142-168 (33.4 - 39.6%) -- 18.9% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
4 Atk Reckless Emboar Flare Blitz vs. 56 HP / 0 Def Mega Banette: 237-279 (83.7 - 98.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I think defensive Emboar is really cool in Dugtrio-less metagame, but let's focus on Mega Banette. It can burn Mega Banette to then Protect and kill the Ghost. If there are rocks on the field, Banette has 68,8% of getting rekt. Use defensive pig :]

252+ Atk Mega Banette Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Mega Audino: 47-55 (11.4 - 13.4%) -- possible 8HKO

Immune to Shadow Claw and Shadow Sneak, resists Sucker Punch and resists and is unaffected by Knock Off, and can Heal Bell burns: Mega Audino is capable of easily switching in on Mega Banette and gradually defeat it with a few Dazzling Gleams. Mega Audino is also capable of staying in its normal form to defeat Mega Banette in order to preserve Regenerator, although it does take longer for it to win without STAB on Dazzling Gleam and the slight Special Attack boost. The only thing it has to concern itself over is the rare Gunk Shot, which it can avoid and scout for by staying in its normal form, or being taken down alongside Mega Banette if it uses Destiny Bond.

Nice, ok we keep going.

Victim of this "week" is:

Cacturne @ Life Orb
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 29 HP

- Low Kick
- Seed Bomb
- Sucker Punch

One of Don Honchkrorleone favorite mons if not favorite, cause F*** Mola right?! Anyways, this set is legitimately interesting and can be a prominent threat given it has strong priority and really good neutral moves. I actually dont have much of an idea about this set myself so just followed logic since low kick is nice for registeel. Also I think jolly is best.

Also, SD Shiftry is better

Togetic is a really solid counter for Cacturne, being able to eat any one of Cacturne's moves and do a ton back with Dazzling gleam. Not only that, but Togetic can heal off damage sustained and use Cacturne as setup bait for Nasty Plot.

Anyway, Golbat as a counter

Sucker Punch can't kill (and can be played around with he support moves) while BB does. Taunt + Toxic beats it better. Cacturne the destroyer can't survive Golbat's U-turn either:
0 Atk Golbat U-turn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cacturne: 252-300 (89.6 - 106.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock (37.5% without SR but SP's LO recoil may kill it).

Scrafty @ Leftovers
Ability: Shed Skin
EVs: 8 HP / 248 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off

You can essentially catch Cacturne on an expected SD or Sucker Punch and KO it from there. While Seed Bomb and Low Kick can do 50-60% damage, thanks to Scrafty's higher Speed and x4 resistance to Sucker Punch, it shouldn't be much problematic.

252 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Seed Bomb vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Scrafty: 140-165 (51.6 - 60.8%) -- 93.4% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Low Kick (60 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Scrafty: 140-166 (51.6 - 61.2%) -- 94.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Scrafty: 35-40 (12.9 - 14.7%) -- possibly the worst move ever

252 Atk Scrafty High Jump Kick vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cacturne: 500-590 (177.9 - 209.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Scrafty winning again psh

Hard Check

Gurdurr @ Eviolite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Bulk Up
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch

Gurdurr basically hard checks most dark types in the tier and cacturne is no exception. Easily taking a +2 seed bomb and retaliating with drain punch, which kills, so yeah. Hard check cause it exists the remote possibility of losing to it with the combination +2 seed bomb + sucker punch.

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Seed Bomb vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Gurdurr: 239-282 (63.9 - 75.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Gurdurr: 120-140 (32 - 37.4%) -- 91.8% chance to 3HKO

But it shouldnt have a problem beating it in the long run.

Hard Check

Emboar @ Leftovers
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Superpower
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flare Blitz
- Protect

(Defensive) Emboar takes STAB hits from cacturne like they're nothing and it OHKO's it in return, even with no attack investment.

Calcs:

252 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Emboar: 74-87 (17.4 - 20.5%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Low Kick (100 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Emboar: 123-146 (29 - 34.4%) -- 99.7% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Seed Bomb vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Emboar: 74-87 (17.4 - 20.5%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery

It does 2HKO with low kick after an SD, but you should obviously not let this thing set up easily.

In return, Emboar easily OHKOs:

4 Atk Emboar Superpower vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cacturne: 468-552 (166.5 - 196.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

4 Atk Reckless Emboar Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cacturne: 560-662 (199.2 - 235.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

It can also burn the cacturn and because its Life Orb and not Lum, this will limit cacturn for the rest of the match.

Offensive check

Hitmonlee @ Life Orb
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off
- Mach Punch
- Sucker Punch

Simply put, Hitmonlee guarantees a revenge kill on Cacturne with an Adamant Mach Punch after one LO round (and it's already a good roll for you). It can come in on anything but Seed Bomb at least once, but risking it can be foolish considering how good this set is for highly offensive teams. It still stop any potential sweep though, and since HO struggles to fit in reliable answers to Cacturne's priority, this can be good.

The only calc you need:

252+ Atk Life Orb Hitmonlee Mach Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cacturne: 268-320 (95.3 - 113.8%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
