Z-Trick Hoopa-U

Hoopa-Unbound @ Psychium Z
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Trick
- Dark Pulse
- Psyshock/Psychic
- Focus Blast

Z-Trick gives Hoopa-U +2 Speed, which is useful against offensive teams allowing it to serve as a great cleaner patching its middling Spe stat and it also allows Hoopa-U to utilize Shattered Psyche with Psyshock (if you don't need +2 Spe).
So, you have the flexibility to choose between a free +2 Spe boost (which is really likely to get considering the amount of switches out that Hoopa-U provides) or a Z-powered psychic attack.
Simple, but effective if you need something that hits hard AND fast.

EVs spread: It is a basic EVs spread 252/252/4 with a Timid nature.
According to this thread (http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/sm-ou-speed-tiers.3587531/), Hoopa-U reaches 568 after a +2 Spe boost and a Timid nature.

Banned deucer.

Hoopa-Unbound @ Firium Z
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hyperspace Fury
- Drain Punch / Zen Headbutt
- Fire Punch
- Hidden Power [Ice]

This an an incredible set that i've been using lately on various playstyles. The Firium Z sets allows Hoopa to break through its traditional checks including Magearna, Celesteela and Scizor with minimal effort, as well as being able to lure in 'mons such as Landorus with HP Ice. Unlike Ice Punch, HP Ice has a high chance of OHKOing Defensive Lando with minimal investment, while simultaneously avoiding residual from the rocky helmet.

Hoopa-Unbound @ Icium Z
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Punch
- Hyperspace Fury
- Gunk Shot
- Zen Headbutt

The main point of this set is to lure in bulky pokemon like Landorus, Zapdos, Hippowdon etc. and suprise other ground types like Garchomp and Zygarde. Double STAB + Gunk Shot to hit fairies was what I used testing this, but they can obviously be changed.

-1 252 Atk Hoopa-Unbound Subzero Slammer (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Landorus-Therian: 380-448 (99.4 - 117.2%)

252 Atk Hoopa-Unbound Subzero Slammer (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Zapdos: 288-340 (75.1 - 88.7%)

252 Atk Hoopa-Unbound Ice Punch vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Zygarde: 324-384 (77.6 - 92%)

Strong Physical attackers like Lopunny, Bulu and Zygarde appreciate Hoopa's ability to lure in Landorus, Zapdos and their likes so they can break holes/sweep easily.

proxy-1.gifproxy-2.gif

Volturn pokemon like Koko appreciate the removal of ground types so they can click thunderbolt/volt switch more freely. Magnezone helps Hoopa by eliminating bulky steel types like Ferrothorn and Celesteela who can wall it if not running fire punch.

Other Options

Fire Punch can be used to hit bulky steel types as mentioned above. Taunt can also catch bulkier teams if guard but throwing out attacks is usually better.

that's literally the second set on the analysis. Also, so that this won't just be a one liner...

Hoopa-Unbound @ Life Orb
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hyperspace Fury
- Zen Headbutt
- Drain Punch
- Hidden Power [Ice]

This is a really neat set that I've been using lately on specific teams that require its services. Choice Band variants of Foopa obviously have problems with getting Pursuit trapped by Tyranitar and thus being ineffective at breaking through bulkier teams properly, with Tyranitar's usage being as high as it is. On the other hand, the Nasty Plot set requires your Z-Move slot to work effectively. This set combines both of the sets for a wallbreaker that can both threaten offensive teams with its insanely threatening physical move pool while not being locked into attacking with Choice Band vs teams with Tyranitar. This set uses Jolly since 170 Special Attack means you bust past even defensive Landorus-T with a negative nature as long as you have a Life Orb and HP Ice is integral for breaking through the otherwise annoying Landorus-T, who would normally threaten to get a fuckton of chip damage with LO damage + Helmet + requiring you to use multiple attacks to knock it out.

Hoopa-Unbound @ Focus Sash/Light Clay
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Knock Off/Taunt/Destiny Bond
- Thunder Wave/Magic Coat
- Reflect
- Light Screen

simple, set up screens and thunder wave and knock off threats.

this is bad. like really bad. no mental herb, trash bulk, low speed. give it a chance though it's fire.

Someone give thicctornadus a badge already. I may have a deep personal grudge against anyone with an anime profile picture but he's been contributing everywhere recently.

So Noisy

sehna padega thoda

Hoopa-Unbound @ Fightinium Z/Mago Berry
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Psyshock
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast

Basically eats fat teams, can run Sitrus/Mago because helps in longevity as nasty plot already boosts its special attack or fight z so that it doesnt have to rely on focus miss.
