[OVERVIEW]

Togedemaru is a great support Pokemon with a nice Speed tier that allows it to outspeed unboosted Pokemon like Jynx, Primeape, and Lilligant. It has access to a lot of utility moves, including Encore, Toxic, Fake Out, Nuzzle, and Spiky Shield, which helps it patch up whatever its team's weaknesses are. Togedemaru also has a decent ability in Lightning Rod, which absorbs Electric-type attacks from the likes of Lanturn. However, Togedemaru has an extremely shallow coverage movepool and lacks a usable Steel-type STAB attack, so it's mainly used as a support Pokemon. While its semi-unique typing allows it to check common threats in PU such as Lilligant, Musharna, and Mesprit, it lacks the natural bulk to easily switch in on even resisted hits, especially when it uses the offensive set.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Zing Zap is Togedemaru's strongest physical STAB move and also has a 30% flinch chance. Encore lets Togedemaru lock Pokemon such as Musharna and Mesprit into setup moves. Toxic cripples foes that are able to easily switch into Zing Zap such as Gastrodon and Gourgeist-XL. U-turn lets Togedemaru pivot out on common switch-ins and gain momentum, especially if it hits them with Encore the previous turn. Fake Out allows it to gain chip damage on opposing Pokemon, especially in conjunction with status moves like Toxic or entry hazards like Toxic Spikes.

Set Details
========

With maximum Speed investment and a Jolly nature, Togedemaru is able to outspeed Pokemon with base 95 Speed or less like Jynx, Primeape, and Lilligant, while maximum Attack investment increases its damage output. Leftovers allows it to regain HP slowly so that it's able to pivot during the entire game, with the free turns that Fake Out and Encore can create helping rack up extra recovery. With Lightning Rod, Togedemaru is able to disrupt Volt Switch and check foes like Oricorio-E and Choice-locked Alolan Raichu.

Usage Tips
========

Togedemaru should be brought in as much as possible versus weaker foes or setup users such as Musharna to disrupt them with Encore and Toxic. Fake Out allows Togedemaru to stall for extra status damage and stall out weather and Trick Room turns. Togedemaru should be used to gain as many turns as possible in order to accumulate entry hazard damage, and it should poison common switch-ins like Gastrodon and Gourgeist-XLso that they become easier for teammates to break through. It's also ideal to keep Togedemaru as healthy as possible so it can check foes such as Lilligant, which are able to beat it if it's weakened.

Team Options
========

Offensive Togedemaru works great with Spikes stacking teams thanks to its support movepool, so teammates such as Qwilfish and Weezing work well with it. Due to how much it struggles versus Poison- and Steel-type physical walls like Weezing, Ferroseed, and Aggron, strong special wallbreakers are ideal teammates; Fire-types such as Magmortar and Pyroar stand out because they benefit from its pivoting and can absorb an incoming Will-O-Wisp. Forming a VoltTurn core is also ideal, and Pokemon such as Lanturn and Mesprit are able to slowly pivot Togedemaru in. Togedemaru's support can give setup sweepers free turns while also giving fast late-game sweepers an opportunity to clean by punishing the use of recovery moves.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Wish allows Togedemaru to either regain health itself or pass a decent-sized amount of recovery to teammates. Spiky Shield allows it to safely recover health with Wish, force foes to take residual damage, and scout for moves. Zing Zap allows Togedemaru to deal damage with a reasonably powerful STAB move, but it is noticeably weak due to lack of investment. U-turn lets Togedemaru gain momentum on switch-ins such as Ferroseed and Weezing. U-turn is also a useful way of Wish passing to teammates, as the incoming Pokemon receives the Wish freely if Togedemaru is slower than the foe or the foe switches. Toxic deals passive damage to switch-ins such as Lanturn and Gastrodon, which usually force Togedemaru out thanks to being immune to its STAB attacks.

Set Details
========

The EVs and a Careful nature allow Togedemaru to have the most special bulk possible. Maximum HP investment also means it can pass larger Wishes. Leftovers gives passive recovery on top of the recovery Togedemaru receives from Wish, with Spiky Shield providing a free turn of healing with it. Finally, Lightning Rod allows Togedemaru to disrupt certain Volt Switch users, including Lanturn, Alolan Raichu, and Manectric.

Usage Tips
========

This set is primarily for checking weaker special attackers such as Lanturn, but it can also check threats whose attacks it resists like Jynx, Mesprit, Oricorio-E, and Choice-locked Abomasnow. Due to this, it should be switched into these attackers as frequently as possible, but it has to be wary of potential coverage moves such as Earthquake or Focus Blast from Abomasnow and Focus Blast from Jynx. It should attempt to hit standard switch-ins such as Gastrodon with Toxic so that teammates like Kangaskhan have an easier time breaking through them later. Lastly, Togedemaru should aim to keep itself healthy before trying to heal a teammate, as it'll struggle with switching into special attackers if it is weakened beforehand.

Team Options
========

Togedemaru appreciates support from special wallbreakers to deal with foes like Weezing, Ferroseed, and Aggron; Pyroar and Magmortar are notable, as they are able to beat most foes that resist Togedemaru's attacks and can absorb an incoming Will-O-Wisp. Fighting-types such as Hitmonchan and Gurdurr benefit from having a teammate to check Psychic- and Flying-types, and they offer a way of threatening Steel-types, something that Togedemaru cannot do by itself. Entry hazard stackers are also able to benefit from Togedemaru as a teammate, so Ferroseed, Weezing, and Qwilfish are ideal Pokemon to include. Pokemon that resist or are immune to Ground like Mesprit and the previously mentioned Weezing help cover up Togedemaru's crippling weakness to attacks of that type. None of the above Pokemon have reliable recovery, so they appreciate Togedemaru's Wish passing.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Choice Scarf Togedemaru has a niche in being able to hit fast foes like Archeops, Alolan Raichu, Primeape, and Pyroar, but it doesn't appreciate not having access to its support movepool and is overall quite weak. A defensive set with Rocky Helmet and maximum HP and Defense investment can also work, but it's often seen as inferior to the other two sets because it's not able to check many physical attackers. A SubToxic set has the potential to be annoying and can deal with would-be checks like Weezing, but it generally falls short of what the specially defensive set is capable of doing. Magnet Rise is a niche option that helps Togedemaru beat foes like Archeops and Gastrodon, but Togedemaru generally can't afford to spend a moveslot on it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Even though most Fighting-types bar Gurdurr don't want to switch into a Zing Zap,they are able to offensively pressure Togedemaru with priority Mach Punch and Vacuum Wave.

**Steel-types**: Aggron, Ferroseed, and Alolan Dugtrio are all able to wall Togedemaru, with the former being able to hit whatever switches in extremely hard and the latter two being able to either set up on it or, in the case of Alolan Dugtrio, Pursuit trap it. Ferroseed doesn't appreciate being locked into a move by Encore, however.

**Weezing**: Weezing is immune to Toxic and takes pitiful damage from Zing Zap. In return, it's able to either burn Togedemaru with Will-O-Wisp or place Toxic Spikes freely if it avoids Encore.

**Revenge Killers**: Foes like Alolan Raichu, Manectric, Pyroar, and Archeops are able to force Togedemaru out by threatening to OHKO with super effective STAB or coverage moves. The specially defensive set can scout for moves on Choice-locked foes, however, making them less effective.

**Fire- and Ground-types**: Fire- and Ground-types are capable of forcing out Togedemaru with their respective STAB moves, such as Golurk with Earthquake and Magmortar with Fire Blast, along with Ground-types being immune to Togedemaru's Zing Zap; however, they must be cautious of being crippled by Toxic.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Togedemaru has a nice base speed tier of 96, allowing it to just creep mons like Jynx, Primeape and Lilligant.
  • It has access to a lot of utility moves, such as Encore, Toxic, Fake Out, Nuzzle, Spikey Shield etc.
  • It two decent abilities to take use of in Iron Barbs, helping it to deal chip damage to Physical Attackers and in Lightning Rod, which helps it check things like Lanturn and Oricorio-E. It does have access to Sturdy, but prefers to use the other two.
  • Whilst having a decent base attack, it only gets access to a decent STAB Electric move but unfortunately not a special STAB Steel move.
  • Low HP and Defences mean it isn't able to switch in to much unless it's against a weak mon or an ineffectual move. Maybe mention that the spdef set can switch into stuff?
  • It faces competition from Lanturn as a defensive pivot, due to Lanturn having an arguably better typing and better defensive stats; along with competition from Electivire which boasts more offensive prowess and a wider move-pool. They both lack the same the amount of utility moves that Togedemaru has access to however. Maybe just say Toge carves a niche due to its utility over the other two Pokemon

[SET]

Moves
========
  • Fake Out allows it to gain chip damage on opposing mons, especially in conjunction with status moves like Toxic or hazard stacking like Toxic Spikes.
  • Zing Zap is its strongest Physical STAB move that has a 30% chance to also flinch the opposing mon.
  • Encore lets it lock opponents into to set-up moves or moves that it resists. List Examples
  • U-Turn lets it pivot out on common switch ins and gain momentum. List examples of common switch-ins
  • Toxic lets it cripple teams that don't have a proper switch in to it. List examples of what it cripples with Toxic

Set Details
========
  • Maximum Speed investment with a Jolly nature allows Togedemaru to outspeed base 95 Speed Pokemon and under such as Jynx, Electivire, Primeape, and Lilligant while max Attack investment amplifies it's damage output. I would say non Choice Scarf Jynx Primeape etc
  • Leftovers allows it to regain HP slowly, so that it's able to pivot during the entire game and is nice passive recovery when paired with Fake Out.
  • Lightning Rod allows it to disrupt Volt Switch Pokemon and lock them into Encore or Toxic them, while also allowing Togedemaru to check things like Raichu-Alola and Oricorio-E. Does it check Alolan Raichu? They run All-Out Pummeling and you dont Encore Raichu into Nasty Plot because its faster
  • U-turn allows Togedemaru to pick up momentum on things that usually wall it, such as Weezing and Ferroseed.

Usage Tips
========
  • Togedemaru should be brought in a much as possible vs weaker opponents or set-up mons to disrupt them with Encore and Toxic.
  • Fake Out support from Togedemaru allows it to stall for status damage, such as Toxic and Burn, along with being able to stall out both Weather and Trick Room turns.
  • Its typing also allows it to both resist Stealth Rock and be immune to Toxic Spikes, meaning it is able to pivot in and out with ease.
  • It should try and use Toxic as much as possible to accrue chip damage on opposing mons that aren't immune to it. Like?

Team Options
========
  • Offensive Togedemaru works great with spike stack teams, thanks to its support movepool, so teammates such as Qwilfish and Weezing work well with it. Weezing does not Spike Stack mention Ferroseed
  • Strong special wallbreakers are ideal teammates for Togedemaru is it helps it break things like Weezing, Ferroseed and Aggron; Fire-types such as Magmortar and Charizard stand out because they benefit from its pivoting, and can also absorb an incoming Will-O-Wisp from an opposing mon like Weezing.

  • Spiky Shield allows it to safely recover health with Wish, whilst also being a way to force residual damage versus an opponent and scout for moves.

  • U-turn lets Togedemaru gain momentum on opposing mons that switch-in to it. List examples
  • Toxic allows for passive damage against anything affected by it. List examples of what it can Toxic

  • Lightning Rod means that it can disrupt certain Volt Switchers, such as Lanturn, Raichu-Alola and Choice Locked Manectric.

Usage Tips
========
  • This set is primarily for checking weaker special attackers such as Lanturn, but also allows it to check several threats like Jynx, Mesprit, Oricorio-E and Choiced Abomasnow. Does it check Lanturn? They often carry Heal Bell
  • Due to this, it should be switched in as frequently as possible versus these types of special attackers, but has to be wary of potential coverage such as Earthquake / Focus Blast from Abomasnow or Focus Blast from Jynx
  • It should attempt to Toxic as much as possible to accumulate residual damage, so that when it pivots it can chip the opponents.

  • Togedemaru has a nice base speed tier of 96, allowing it to just creep mons like Jynx, Primeape and Lilligant. outspeed not just creep out, ur not creeping anything
  • It has access to a lot of utility moves, such as Encore, Toxic, Fake Out, Nuzzle, Spikey Shield etc. what does this allow you to do tho? provide support to your team depending on its weakness', add that in

  • Low HP and Defences mean it isn't able to switch in to much unless it's against a weak mon or an ineffectual move, unless it's the Specially Defensive Pivot. mention that it will still take a lot of damage from resisted hits due to its lack of bulk rather than whatever that abomination of a first sentence is

  • Toxic lets it cripple teams that don't have a proper switch in to it. ????? no shit sherlock, mention that the pokemon that are common switchins to it dont appreciate the toxic like gastrodon and other physical bulky walls that take 0 from zap

  • It should try and use Toxic as much as possible to (accrue) chip damage on opposing mons that aren't immune to it. nice thesaurus again, the sentence doesnt even make sense. and again at the end, no shit sherlock. the idea is to gain turns and accumulate spikes / hazards damage for teammates and toxic things so that they are easier to break hence the term support.

  • Lightning Rod allows it to disrupt Volt Switch mons, while also allowing Togedemaru to check things like Oricorio-E and Choice Locked Raichu-Alola.
  • U-turn allows Togedemaru to pick up momentum on things that have been encored or on things that it can directly threaten, such as Kabutops and Jynx; U-turn also allows it to pivot on common switchins like Weezing and Ferroseed. um ??????????????

Usage Tips
========
  • Togedemaru should be used to gain as many turns as possible in order to accumulate Spikes / Stealth Rock damage, and Toxic common switchins like Gastrodon, Gourgeist-Xl, etc. so that they become easier for teammates to break.
maybe like keeping this healthy depending on the situation, cuz as soon as it gets chipped it's a lot easier for somth like lilligant to bust through so u cant just go switching into mesprit willy nilly

Team Options
========
  • Offensive Togedemaru works great with spike stack teams, thanks to its support movepool, so teammates such as Qwilfish and Weezing work well with it.
  • Strong special wallbreakers are ideal teammates for Togedemaru is it helps it break things like Weezing, Ferroseed and Aggron; Fire-types such as Magmortar and Charizard rip zard stand out because they benefit from its pivoting, and can also absorb an incoming Will-O-Wisp from an opposing mon like Weezing.
  • A VoltTurn core is also ideal and things such as Lanturn and Mesprit are able to slow pivot into it.
  • Due to its support it allows setup sweepers to have free setup turns while also allowing fast, late game sweepers and opportunity to clean as it punishes use of recovery moves. english please
ur gonna want some kind of ground checks, just to make sure like torterra or mudsdale don't keep getting kills

Moves
========
  • Wish allows Togedemaru to either regain health, in conjunction with Spiky Shield, itself or pass decent-sized wishes to teammates.
  • Spiky Shield allows it to safely recover health with Wish, whilst also being a way to force residual damage versus an opponent and scout for moves.
  • Zing Zap allows it to deal damage with a reasonably powerful STAB move.
  • U-turn lets Togedemaru gain momentum on opposing mons that switch-in to it, such as Ferroseed and Weezing. U-turn is also a useful way of wish passing to teammates, as if you're either slower or are able to U-turn on the switch it means that the incoming mon receives the Wish freely.
  • Toxic allows for passive damage against standard switchins such as Lanturn and Gastrodon.

Set Details
========
  • The EVs allow it to have the most special bulk possible, with a Careful nature to increase its Special Defence brit spelling lol. Max HP means it can pass larger wishes and also makes it bulkier.
  • Leftovers gives it passive recovery on top of the recovery it receives from Wish, with Spikey Shield allowing it a free turn of Leftovers.
  • U-turn means Togedemaru can pivot into other teammates with either a Wish set-up or on an opposing switch for momentum.
  • Lightning Rod means that it can disrupt certain Volt Switchers, such as Lanturn, Choice Locked Raichu-Alola and Manectric. cant u disrupt raichu's volt choiced or not? if the point is that non-choice is probably gonna AoP you then why's overheat manectric also on there

Usage Tips
========
  • This set is primarily for checking weaker special attackers such as Lanturn, but also allows it to check several threats like Jynx, Mesprit, Oricorio-E and Choiced Abomasnow. idk that it's more for weaker ones, it's rly for ones that u resist- random elecs, grasses, birbs and psychics
  • Due to this, it should be switched in as frequently as possible versus these types of special attackers, but has to be wary of potential coverage such as Earthquake / Focus Blast from Abomasnow or Focus Blast from Jynx. again, these types should more be about the ones u cant resist the hell out of
  • It should attempt to Toxic standard switchins, such as Gastrodon, so that it makes it easier for teammates, like Kangaskhan, to have an easier time breaking them later.
  • Togedemaru should aim to keep itself healthy first before trying to heal a teammate, as it'll struggle switching into special attackers if it is weakened beforehand.

Team Options
========
  • Togedemaru appreciates support from special wallbreakers to deal with things like Weezing, Ferroseed and Aggron; Pyroar and Magmortar are noticeable as they are able to break most of its resists, whilst also being able to absorb an incoming Will-O-Wisp. Togedemaru is also able to keep these teammates healthy with wish passing, as none of the above mentioned have access to reliable recovery. i mean it's not like pyroar needs wish passing whatsoever, don't entirely get this
  • Fighting-types such as Hitmonchan and Gurdurr benefit from having something to check Psychic and Flying-types and they offer a way of breaking Steel-types, something which Togedemaru cannot do by itself.
  • Hazard stacking cores are able to benefit from Togedemaru as a teammate, so Ferroseed, Weezing and Qwilfish are ideal mons to include.
again ground checks seem like they ought to be a given, as well as fire checks

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Choice Scarf Togedemaru has a niche in being able to hit faster mons like Archeops, Raichu-A, Primeape and Pyroar; but doesn't appreciate not having access to its support movepool and is overall quite a weak Choice Scarf user.
  • A defensive set with Rocky Helmet and max HP / Defence can work, but it's often seen as inferior to the other two sets because it's not able to check much on the physical side.
  • A Sub-Toxic set has the potential to be annoying and dealing with would-be checks like Weezing, but generally falls short of what the specially defensive set is capable of doing.
  • Magnet Rise is a niche option that helps it beat things like Archeops and Gastrodon, but it generally cant afford to waste a moveslot to accommodate for it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Even though most Fighting-types don't want to switch into a Zing Zap, except Gurdurr, they are able to offensively pressure Togedemaru with priority Mach Punch and Vacuum Wave.

**Steel-types**: Aggron, Ferroseed and Dugtrio-Alola are all able to hard wall Togedemaru, with the former being able to hit whatever switches in extremely hard and the latter two being able to either set-up on it or in the case of Dugtrio-Alola, Pursuit it.

**Weezing** Weezing is immune to Toxic and takes pitiful damage from Togedemaru's Zing Zap. It's able to either Will-O-Wisp it or place Toxic Spikes down freely, bar the potential Encore.

**Revenge Killers** Things like Pyroar, Manectric, Magmortar and Archeops are all able to force it out by threatening the OHKO with either super-effective STAB or coverage moves.
if u mention fire and ground below, why do u use pyroar and magmortar as examples above
**Fire and Ground Types** Both of these types are capable of forcing out Togedemaru with their respective STAB moves, such as Golurk with Earthquake and Magmortar with Fire Blast, along with the Ground-type being immune to Togedemaru's Zing Zap; however, both must be cautious of being crippled by Toxic.

[OVERVIEW]

Togedemaru is a great utility mon in the current meta with access to a nice base speed tier of 96, allowing it to outspeed mons like Jynx, Primeape and Lilligant (unboosted/unscarfed only and they often add so you should probably specify ). It has access to a lot of utility moves, such as Encore, Toxic, Fake Out, Nuzzle, Spikey Shield etc. which provides support to your team depending on its weaknesses, along with two decent abilities to take use of in Iron Barbs, helping it to deal chip damage to Physical Attackers and in Lightning Rod, which helps it check things like Oricorio-E. Even though it has a decent attack stat, outside of Zing Zap, Togedemaru has an extremely shallow coverage movepool and lacks a usable Steel STAB, so it's mainly used as a support mon. A semi-unique typing allows it to check a lot of common threats in PU, such as Lilligant, Oricorio Pom-Pom and Jynx but due to its lack of natural bulk, Togedemaru struggles to switch in to even resisted hits, especially the offensive set.

Fake Out allows it to gain chip damage on opposing mons, especially in conjunction with status moves like Toxic or hazard stacking like Toxic Spikes. Zing Zap is Togedemaru's strongest Physical STAB move that has a 30% chance to also flinch the opposing mon. Encore lets it lock opponents into to set-up moves such as a boosting Musharna or Mesprit. U-Turn lets it pivot out on common switch ins and gain momentum, especially on mons that were Encored the previous turn. Toxic lets it cripple mons that are able to easily switch in to Zing Zap, such as Gastrodon and Gourgeist-XL. Due to how much it struggles versus Poison and Steel Poison- and Steel-type physical walls like Weezing, Ferroseed, and Aggron, strong special wallbreakers are ideal teammates for Togedemaru to help it break foes like Weezing, Ferroseed and Aggron; Fire-types such as Magmortar and Pyroar stand out because they benefit from its pivoting and can also absorb an incoming Will-O-Wisp. Forming a VoltTurn core is also ideal, and foes Pokemon such as Lanturn and Mesprit are able to slowly pivot Togedemaru in. Due to its support it Togedemaru's support can give setup sweepers free setup turns while also giving fast late-game sweepers an opportunity to clean by punishing the use of recovery moves.

Moves
========

Wish allows Togedemaru to either regain health(space)itself or pass a decent-sized amount of recovery to teammates. Spiky Shield allows it to safely recover health with Wish, (comma) force foes to take residual damage, whilst also providing a way to force residual damage versus a foe and scout for moves. Zing Zap allows Togedemaru to deal damage with a reasonably powerful STAB move, but it is noticeably weak(space)due to lack of investment. U-turn lets Togedemaru gain momentum on opposing Pokemon that switch into it, switch-ins such as Ferroseed and Weezing. U-turn is also a useful way of Wish passing to teammates, as the incoming Pokemon receives the Wish freely if Togedemaru is slower than the foe or the foe switches. Toxic inflicts deals passive damage against standard to common switch-ins such as Lanturn and Gastrodon, which usually force Togedemaru out thanks to being immune to its STAB attacks.

Set Details
========

The EVs and a Careful nature allow Togedemaru to have the most special bulk possible, with a Careful nature to increase its Special Defense even further. Maximum HP investment also means it can pass larger Wishes and makes it bulkier. Leftovers gives it passive recovery on top of the recovery it Togedemaru receives from Wish, with Spiky Shield providing a free turn of Leftovers healing with it. Finally, Lightning Rod allows Togedemaru to disrupt certain Volt Switch users, such as including Lanturn, Alolan Raichu, and Manectric.

Usage Tips
========

This set is primarily for checking weaker special attackers such as Lanturn, but it can also check several threats whose attacks it resists like Jynx, Mesprit, Oricorio-E, and Choice-lockedd Abomasnow. Due to this, it should be switched into these attackers as frequently as possible versus these types of special attackers, but it has to be wary of potential coverage moves such as Earthquake or Focus Blast from Abomasnow and Focus Blast from Jynx. It should attempt to hit standard switch-ins such as Gastrodon with Toxic, (comma) such as Gastrodon, so that teammates like Kangaskhan have an easier time breaking through them later. Lastly, Togedemaru should aim to keep itself healthy first before trying to heal a teammate, as it'll struggle with switching into special attackers if it is weakened beforehand.

Team Options
========

Togedemaru appreciates support from special wallbreakers to deal with foes like Weezing, Ferroseed, and Aggron; Pyroar and Magmortar are noticeable notable, as they are able to break beat most foes that resist Togedemaru's attacks whilst also being able to and can absorb an incoming Will-O-Wisp. Togedemaru is also able to partially heal teammates with Wish passing, as none of the above mentioned have access to reliable recovery. Fighting-types such as Hitmonchan and Gurdurr benefit from having a teammate to check Psychic- and Flying-types, and they offer a way of breaking threatening Steel-types, something that Togedemaru cannot do by itself. Entry hazard stacking cores stackers are also able to benefit from Togedemaru as a teammate, so Ferroseed, Weezing, and Qwilfish are ideal Pokemon to include. Pokemon that resist or are immune to Ground like Mesprit and the previously mentioned Weezing and Mesprit help cover up Togedemaru's crippling weakness to those attacks of that type. None of the above Pokemon have reliable recovery, so they appreciate Togedemaru's Wish passing.

Other Options
=============

Choice Scarf Togedemaru has a niche in being able to hit faster foes like Archeops, Alolan Raichu, Primeape, and Pyroar, but it doesn't appreciate not having access to its support movepool and is overall quite a weak Choice Scarf user. A defensive set with Rocky Helmet and maximum HP and(space)Defense investment can also work, but it's often seen as inferior to the other two sets because it's not able to check many physical attackers. A SubToxic set has the potential to be annoying and can deal with would-be checks like Weezing, but it generally falls short of what the specially defensive set is capable of doing. Finally Magnet Rise is a niche option that helps Togedemaru beat foes like Archeops and Gastrodon, but it Togedemaru generally can't afford to waste a moveslot to accommodate for it spend a moveslot on it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Even though most Fighting-types bar Gurdurr don't want to switch into a Zing Zap, except Gurdurr, they are able to offensively pressure Togedemaru with priority Mach Punch and Vacuum Wave.

**Steel-types**: Aggron, Ferroseed, and Alolan Dugtrio are all able to hard wall Togedemaru, with the former being able to hit whatever switches in extremely hard and the latter two being able to either set up on it or, in the case of Alolan Dugtrio, Pursuit trap it. Ferroseed doesn't appreciate being locked into a move by Encore, however.

**Weezing**: Weezing is immune to Toxic and takes pitiful damage from Togedemaru's Zing Zap. In return, it's able to either burn Togedemaru with Will-O-Wisp or place Toxic Spikes down freely, (comma) if it avoids Encore.

**Revenge Killers**: Foes like Alolan Raichu, Manectric, Pyroar, and Archeops are all able to force Togedemaru out by threatening the to OHKO with super effective STAB or coverage moves. The specially defensive set can scout for moves on Choice-locked foes, however, making them less effective.

**Fire- and Ground-types**: Both of these types Fire- and Ground-types are capable of forcing out Togedemaru with their respective STAB moves, such as Golurk with Earthquake and Magmortar with Fire Blast, along with Ground-types being immune to Togedemaru's Zing Zap; however, both they must be cautious of being crippled by Toxic.
