Stevie Wonder - Superstition
Plucky guitar always has me concerned for what follows being off-brand for me. One of the few where I think it's the beat dragging down the vocals. I'd like him singing a lot more if the guitar just pissed off. I think it's a guitar anyway making that consistent, obnoxious sound. Yeah honestly I really wish I could rank this higher Blazade but the instrumental is kind of unpleasant for me; sad cause I do enjoy the vocals.

The Heavy - How You Like Me Now
There's a comment on the video: "Official Song for every game/movie trailer." And I kind of agree, I feel like I've heard this song in trailers before. I could hear it playing before I clicked. It's... kind of just noise to me? I can see why it is catchy for a trailer in like a 30 second spurt but the full version is a little grating. I don't really care for singing when it's more yelly, which is probably old news by now I vastly prefer the melodic. Drop dead certain Walrein will rage on Discord with his bros about being ROBBED again but I think this was a bit of a misfire for my tastes, sorry. I actually don't know where to place this, it could either be high 3s or low 4s but like it's hard to orient this to the other songs in this range because they're all bad for very different reasons.

I don't know my foreign characters so I had to double check this wasn't KPop, looks like JPop. Which is a risky send to me considering my utter disdain for KPop though that's for more than just their music. I like the beat here but it almost feels like, exactly what I'd expect from an Asian pop song. The vocals, idk what they're saying and I have to really like a song to jam with that. Ultimately? It was okay. Not offensive. Not spectacular. This would probably clear 7 if the vocals were in English, it's got a pretty hyphy beat.

CHVRCHES - The Mother We Share (Moon Boots Remix)
So we have a remix of a song from Cat 1 here, which means a new score! It placed well in Cat 1, praised for the vocals but suffering from the synth and instrumental being a bit too slow, and certainly underwhelming versus Bury It. I was interested to see if this remix would remedy that concern since that's usually what I seek out remixes for. Unfortunately this seems to be like a club-trance mix? Is the original instrumental here? Her vocals seem like, sped up and disjointed from the melody. I don't think they play quite as well as in the original and the instrumental now is just kind of like this is the song playing right when the club opens so the early birds can dance a little before the E comes out and everyone gets messed up. I need to relisten to the original versus this and then rejudge but my immediate take is this trancy kind of remix did Something weird to the vocals and augmented the problems I had with the beat. Ugh okay yeah listening to the original against this remix... drops the remix even harder in points than I had. Sorry Jalmont, this remix just amplifies my issues with the beat and makes the vocals worse.

La Roux - Uptight Downtown
Maybe I need to go to bed, this is one of the last songs I'm listening to and I'm having a hard time paying attention to it. It's kinda eh. A weaker Bulletproof. The little warble in the beat is cool but something just doesn't click together for me. Her vocals aren't bad but they aren't great. I think middle of the pack is the perfect spot for this song.

Janelle Monae - Dance or Die (featuring Saul Williams)
Janelle was on a Duran Duran song so I'm down with her. That said there was a comment on the video about Family Force 5 and it makes me really want to go listen to a song of theirs rather than complete this one. I respect rappers who can spit lyrics like this and succeed at this style but I don't particularly care to listen to the very quickly spat verses format and I hate to say it but I almost miss the sort of wildness Nicki Minaj has in her voice when she raps like this. The more sung parts are nice but the rap parts I just feel are missing some sort of... warmth? emotion? to me and it's not fantastic.

Kim Carnes - You Make My Heart Beat Faster (And That's All That Matters)
This intro is early 80s af. It's kind of hard to make her out singing the chorus. The words kind of smudge together, I don't think she's enunciating them well. I really like the beat but like sooo many songs this Walrus think the vocals hamper it. Her voice sounds like she's a chainsmoker, it's raspy, maybe? And we know how I feel about the smooth, melodic things. I'm not offended at having listened to this but I don't really feel a need to listen to it again. Maybe the instrumental. I'm getting kind of tired of her saying one line a million times though.

This is some foreign af $#!% just looking at the title. Where do u find all this. The beat is peppy enough but the vocals... another meh. When she has a softer tone while singing it's very nice but once again there's this like harshness/yelling quality to the vocals where I think she's trying to project more than her voice is really good for. I have a hard time placing this it's like got enough energy in the beat to keep my attention but idk if I jive with the vocals' turkey.

Carly Rae Jepsen - Boy Problems
The instrumental sounds kinda like an 80s porno soundtrack. Lyrically the song feels like its aimed at teenagers or women in their late 20s who still get hangovers every weekend and act like teenagers. This makes me feel content with my life that I don't feel this is "for me" as the pretentious say. It's not terrible but it's not really captivating me and her line after "who's got em" in the chorus has a really bothersome delivery to me. There are a couple lines in this I think the choices behind how to sing them were poor. Others are fine. Overall it's just kinda there as a song, mildly annoying, mildly pleasant.

Save Ferris - Come on Eileen
This is a cover of the original that adds like, horns or something? It's a bit peppier than the original which I can appreciate. That said I am kind of dubious there's no background male singer in this and it looks like everyone in this band is white. Maybe it's the chick singing it, her voice is kind of low. Come On Eileen suffers from the same problem of Your Love where I'm Woke to what it really means these days and don't enjoy it as much as I used to. It's... kind of sexually pushy. I'd probably rank this higher than the original but lower than I would've as a sprout.

Estelle - Conqueror
Slow song concerns again. Spooked. At least she's not yelling when she sings Jesus she seems to get being chill and melodic. Just singin- oh ugh the high notes. Is this We Are The Champions not by a white 80s band? I actually really like the verses just no need the chorus.

CSS - You Could Have It All
Nice enough intro I just have to hope there's no yelled vocals on this song. Man what is it with female vocalists that they try and do some weird vocal stunts instead of just like, singing normally and melodically. This definitely isn't as bad as some other songs I've qqed about the vocals this cat but there are certain moments where the vocals are fine and others where they're like trying too hard to sing snarkily if y'all know what I mean and it's like just stop, you sound fine when you're just jamming. Soapbox aside this song is another that's got a p good beat, just wish the vocals stepped up to the plate of the instrumental. I overall enjoyed it well enough.

The Go-Go's - Our Lips are Sealed
Man Pandora used to spam this song when I was younger. That said this isn't one of my favorite Go-Go's songs. It doesn't even get pander-capped lol. This, though, has some good beats. The song moves. It's fast. Not slow. I don't think this is one of their best-sung songs but I enjoy it more than anything else submitted.

David Bowie- Oh! You Pretty Things
Fun fact elcheeso and I had a friend on Dragon Neopets who was obsessed with David Bowie and named all his dragons after David and his personas/characters. His death was a Rough time for our chum but he's on to naming stuff after some other dude now. Anyway this song. There's been Bowie on both prior soundtracks so I can def see one on 3. This song? Ehhhhhhhhhhh kinda slow for me. I think you need to be on an intoxicating substance to fully appreciate this song. The instrumental is pretty lacking, it's just a piano for some of the verses and that's Eh.

The Clash - Rock The Casbah
Yeah I can see this in GotG as the "repetitive kinda nonsensical lyrics while something's flying through space" song like CH-CH-CH-CHERRY BOMB! and Wham Bam w/e tf but I don't really Like any of these songs that much. This song is just kinda raspy and the beat is cool but the lyrics get a bit droning after a while.

Styx - Borrowed Time
Oh boy Styx again. Can't wait for Walrein to rage on Discord to his bros again if I like this song more than his. The intro is nice it's melodic and more stuff creeps in. I hope that wasn't the best part of the song let's find out. Eh better than Walrein's but outclassed by the other songs in this cat. This also like COULD be in GotG but if you open your eyes you might find it's slightly just not quite right sound-wise. I think it might make sense though.
