[OVERVIEW]
========

* Whimsicott's main niche is the use of priority status boosted by its ability Prankster such as Memento, Tailwind, and Stun Spore.
* Whimsicott has mediocre special attack and is extremely frail, which makes it hard to justify despite good typing and decent coverage.
* Whimsicott has decent coverage options in Psychic and Hidden Power Fire to hit Pokémon that threaten it such as Scizor or Crobat in conjuction with some decently powerful STABs in Energy Ball and Moonblast.
* While Whimsicott does hold a niche for itself through Memento, Prankster, and a unique typing,with the prankster nerf, and Z-Moves circumventing Encore, the vast majority of teams find themselves better off with a more viable Fairy-type such as Clefable and Primarina.

Moves
=======

* Moonblast is Whimsicott's main STAB move, able to nail Dragon- and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Conkeldurr.
* Psychic nails Poison-Types such as Amoonguss, Tentacruel, and Crobat, who normally shrug off Whimsicott's attacks with ease, Hidden Power Fire is used to hit Scizor for a 2HKO on the switch-in, and Energy Ball is a secondary STAB that allows Whimsicott to hit water types such as Primarina or Swampert.
* Memento allows Whimsicott to sacrifice itself to bring in a setup Pokémon, such as Haxorus, or Talonflame to setup on severely weakened attacks.
* Tailwind can be used to boost the speed tiers of Pokémon with normally average or mediocre speed such as Nidoking or Bisharp.
* With Whimsicott's high speed, U-Turn can be used to pivot for some offensive momentum or to chip the opposing team and switch-in a check or a counter safely if you have no need for Tailwind or Memento.
* Stun Spore is an alternative option that allows Whimsicott to quickly cripple a fast offensive threat.
* You can use also use Encore, as it acts as a check to many setup sweepers in the tier, stopping a variety of setup sweepers. Threats such as Calm Mind Clefable, Raikou, and Latias, in addition to physical sweepers like Double Dance Cobalion can be stopped for a short time.

Set Details
============

* An EV spread with maximum Special Attack and Speed boosts Whimsicott's offensive prowess as high as possible. A Timid nature ensures that Whimsicott will outpace any unboosted Pokemon up to and including Raikou, possibly giving it the chance to revenge kill weakened threats.
* Prankster is Whimsicott's ability of choice, granting it +1 priority to any status move it uses.
* Life Orb maximizes damage to potential switch-ins such as Scizor or Amoonguss. However, Leftovers is Whimsicott's item of choice, if you are running more support moves, such as Stun Spore, Tailwind or U-Turn, giving it passive recovery.

Usage Tips
============

* Hit predicted switch-ins such as Amoonguss with a coverage move for a 2HKO after Stealth Rock.
* You shouldn't switch directly into hits, as Whimsicott's fragility and lack of recovery makes it ill-suited to be tanking hits.
* Tailwind is best used early to mid game for offensive momentum and to boost the speed of Pokémon who normally don't have enough to damage more offensively inclined teams such as Haxorus or Nidoking.
* Memento is best used late game to allow your wincon to not take heavy damage while setting up.
* You should use U-Turn on a predicted switch to safely get in a check versus a Pokémon that is coming in.
* Stun Spore is generally best used on Pokémon such as Crobat or Mega Aerodactyl, who rely on their speed and will often switch-in to Whimsicott.
* If using Encore, switch in on the turn they use a setup/support move of choice and lock them into it for free turns.

Team Options
============

* Pokémon that have mediocre speed and are easily revenges by common scarfers such as Haxorus, Swords Dance Crawdaunt, and Nidoking appreciate the speed control from either Tailwind, or Stun Spore.
* Memento benefits frailer sweepers who like not taking hits or weakens supereffective hits for setup turns or sweepers who need to stay healthy to sweep, such a Scizor, Cloyster, and Crawdaunt
* Calm Mind Latias in particular appreciates likes Whimsicott's Fairy Typing to deal with threats such as Mega Absol, and can get a free turn of setup from Memento's attack drops, and forces out Poison-Types.
* Partners such as Entei or Volcanion, Pokémon that can beat Whimsicott counters such as Metagross ,Scizor, or Empoleon, and in the case of Entei, Blissey, make good partners for Whimsicott, and in return, Whimsicott takes on the Ground types that threaten them.
* Setup Sweepers such as Gliscor appreciate Encore, as it allows them to setup safely on not very effective hits. Cobalion in particular likes Encore due to its large number of resists, and has the added benefit of dealing with Steel-Types such as Scizor for Whimsicott.
* Whimsicott really only fits on offensive builds as slower, bulkier teams have little use for the Memento or Tailwind support, and cannot afford to have its mediocre defenses or special attack.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
========

* A Choice Specs set with Moonblast, Energy Ball, Switcheroo and Hidden Power Fire can be used but it generally has lackluster power, and other Pokemon such as Hydreigon do the job much better.
* Whimsicott has access to a number of extra moves that may prove useful on some teams, including Knock Off, which can be used to pester slower teams by removing their Leftovers, or offensive teams by removing their choice item. There is also Endeavor which lowers the HP of opposing Pokémon for a potential sweep by a teammate, and Leech Seed, which helps with extra recovery, especially in conjunction with Leftovers. However, other Pokemon do these jobs better, and most teams appreciate the pivoting via Memento or U-Turn more.
* Memento with Darkinium Z is an option but it really limits your choice of setup Pokémon, as most appreciate having a Z-Move of their own.
* Taunt is an option to cripple things that rely on support or Status moves, such as Suicune,Hippowdon, and Swords Dance Mega Absol.
* Giga Drain can be an option to recover HP, however the damage output from Energy Ball is usually preferred.

Checks and Counters
========

**Poison Types:** Bulky Poison Types, such as Crobat, Amoonguss, or Tentacruel are 2HKOed by Psychic after Stealth Rock,however, 1v1, they force it out due to the threat of an OHKO from their STAB moves.

**Steel Types:** Steel types such as Empoleon, Bronzong and Metagross can switch-in very safely due to Whimsicott's mediocre Special Attack and coverage, and proceed to kill with a super effective STAB or setup Stealth Rock. However, Cobalion,Bisharp and Scizor all win 1v1,but they must be careful, as Hidden Power does a sizable amount on the switchin. However, Scizors who are running the bulky spread can live a Life Orb Hidden Power Fire and proceed to either OHKO with Bullet Punch or force it out with the threat of the OHKO.

**Fire Types:** Fire Types such as Entei or Volcanion take very little from Whimsicott's attacks due to its mediocre amount of coverage and can OHKO in return with their super effective STAB Fire-Type moves

**Faster Pokemon:** Faster Pokemon such as Wing Attack Mega Aerodactyl, Crobat, and Talonflame take advantage of Whimsicott's lackluster bulk and OHKO with super effective moves.

**Bulky Pokémon:** Whimsicott's low offensive stats leave it unable to meaningfully damage common bulky Pokemon in UU such as Gliscor and Clefable.

You can run a wall set with moonblast and leech seed, and run protect substitute and leftovers to help gat hp back while doing damage with leech seed and also avoiding it with protect and substitute.

If you run that set, another problem is taunt. It really isn't that bad, due to the fact that with max speed evs and ivs, it out speeds pokemon like bisharp and tyranitar that have a open taunt option, but it does get outsped by more popular taunt users like azelf and Fini.

Ok, first, subseed is a gimmick used to counter like only one mon in the uu metagame, suicune, it does not justify mention if it utterly fails against 99% of the meta. Second, what's a gat lol. If you're gonna suggest improvements, please check over your grammar and spelling.

Ok, A. Fini is OU, and will giga drain that thing, two, whimsicott will encore any azelf or get an attack off. Two, it obviously outspeed a Bisharp and TTar, not to mention the fact that TYRANITAR IS OU. Which is furthered hampered by the fact that neither run taunt and wouldn't even be an issue even if they did, Whimsicott has attacks you know.

So here's the thing, the best sweepers that Whimsicott would like to support with Z Memento would all rather use Z moves themselves. So I don't think that Whimsicott should really be running Z Memento, but it's still a usable Pokemon that can use regular Memento, Tailwind, or Stun Spore to support its teammates. So here's what I think the set should look like after building/testing with it a bunch.

Whimsicott @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Psychic / Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Energy Ball
- Memento / Tailwind

with Stun Spore, Encore, and U-turn (not to be used with Life Orb) listed in Moves, and Babiri Berry listed in Set Details. Then in OO, put Taunt, Giga Drain, and Z-Memento (but say what I said above about using Z-Memento).

In general that set is decent enough against offensive teams, kind of checks Keldeo and Latias and stuff, lures/weakens Fairy-type checks, and most importantly supports its teammates with the support move of choice.

252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Psychic vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Amoonguss: 195-231 (45.2 - 53.5%) -- 91% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Psychic vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gengar: 229-270 (87.7 - 103.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Psychic vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Nidoking: 229-270 (75.5 - 89.1%)
252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Psychic vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Tentacruel: 156-185 (42.8 - 50.8%) -- 48.4% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Whimsicott Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 136 SpD Scizor: 250-296 (72.8 - 86.2%)

Then in Team Options, list good partners for each support move (ex Cloyster Haxorus Scizor for Memento, Conk Primarina Nidoking for Tailwind).

That's kind of a big change but yeah I tried to use just a normal Whimsicott with Encore and U-turn and shit, and it just didn't work. And Z-Memento really limits your choices of setup sweepers and kind of wastes your Z move on an extremely hit-or-miss Pokemon. Let me know when that's implemented and I'll give it a last look before the QC check.

in the overview i think saying its spa is pathetic is a bit of a stretch, 77 isnt great by any means but i mean given its coverage / stab combo its workable and the main set is a lo attacker so id just change it to say its spa is mediocre

" potentially potent sweeper" just word this differently lol, and change the np zelf mention to smth else like talon or crawdaunt because nasty plot zelf isnt rly great

usage tips and set details look fine material wise.

for team options again remove the zelf mention and put talon / craw / sd zor in the memento section. the ones that dodmen mentioned should be there too.

*Setup Sweepers such as Cobalion appreciate Encore, as it allows it to setup safely on not very effective hits.
*Cobalion in particular likes Encore due to its large number of resists, and has the added benefit of dealing with Steel-Types such as Scizor for Whimsicott.

condense this into one bullet point

everything else but you need to make the formatting and spacing way better, this is kinda difficult to read atm lol. do that and ill stamp
