Poison Jab

Alpichen is the Grass Starter of the Yooru region. The moss that grows from its head is a manifestation of its temper and violent urges. Pruning it only makes it grow even bigger, and thus makes Alpichen even more volatile. Trainers should only pick this Pokemon if they're patient and accustomed to challenges.

Possechen (Possesion + Lichen)
Category: Dark Moss
Type: Grass/Ghost
Ability: Overgrow. HA: Intimidate.
65/80/60/55/55/70
Evolves into Exorsite @ Level 36
Start - Leafage
Start - Leer
Start - Leaf Blade
8 - Fury Swipes
11 - Bite

17 - Razor Leaf
21 - Feint Attack

37 - Slash
41 - Synthesis
45 - Wood Hammer

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Destiny Bond
Leech Life
Seed Bomb
Crunch
Rock Slide
Bulk Up
Poison Jab

The moss on its head is slowly draining all of Possechen's personality, including its behavior and temperament. The body itself is akin to a puppet; it has a small amount of will, but will typically not object to the moss's "commands."

Exorsite (Exorcise + Parasite)
Category: Dark Moss
Type: Grass/Ghost
Ability: Overgrow. HA: Intimidate.
80/110/90/75/85/80
Start - Leafage
Start - Leer
Start - Horror Leeching*
8 - Fury Swipes
11 - Bite
14 - Hone Claws
17 - Razor Leaf
21 - Feint Attack

43 - Synthesis
48 - Wood Hammer

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Destiny Bond
Leech Life
Seed Bomb
Crunch
Rock Slide
Bulk Up
Stone Edge
Gunk Shot

Exorsite's mind and soul are now completely imbued within the moss that formed around its skull. They are one now, and can exist detached from the main body for long periods of time. It is cunning and vicious, but will listen to a powerful and patient trainer.

*Category: Physical. Type: Ghost. Power: 80. Accuracy: 100. PP: 10. Recovers 1/2 of the damage dealt. 20% chance to lower target's speed.

And that's it for the Grass starter!

Igsprite (Ignite + Sprite)
Category: Pixie
Type: Fire
Ability: Blaze. HA: Levitate.
60/45/50/65/60/60
Evolves into Scorsprite @ Level 16
Start - Ember
Start - Growl
8 - Fairy Wind
11 - Baby-Doll Eyes
14 - Incinerate
17 - Confide
20 - Swift
23 - Draining Kiss
26 - Will-O-Wisp
29 - Trick
32 - Energy Ball
35 - Flamethrower
38 - Moonblast

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Psychic
Fire Blast
Solar Beam
Shadow Ball
Calm Mind
Hex
Roost
Nasty Plot

Igsprite is the Fire Starter of the Yooru region. The dust scattered by its wings is flammable, so people collect it in pouches to use as "kindling". If annoyed, they spread this dust onto their Trainer's possessions as a sort of idle threat. They are very mischievous and playful Pokemon, so a lot of energy is needed to keep up with and properly raise one.

Scorsprite (Scorch + Sprite)
Category: Pixie
Type: Fire/Fairy
Ability: Blaze. HA: Levitate.
70/50/60/85/80/80
Evolves into Infeyno @ Level 32
Start - Ember
Start - Growl
Start - Lava Plume
8 - Fairy Wind
11 - Baby-Doll Eyes
14 - Incinerate
18 - Confide
22 - Swift
26 - Draining Kiss
30 - Will-O-Wisp
34 - Trick
38 - Energy Ball
42 - Flamethrower
46 - Moonblast

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Psychic
Fire Blast
Solar Beam
Shadow Ball
Calm Mind
Hex
Roost
Nasty Plot

Scorsprite's mischievous nature has mellowed out a little, but it will still spite people that annoy it. Its larger wings let it coat more area in its flammable dust, which it then ignites to cause massive infernos that consume its enemies.

Infeyno (Inferno + Fey)
Category: Ethereal
Type: Fire/Fairy
Ability: Blaze. HA: Levitate.
75/70/65/115/100/100
Start - Ember
Start - Growl
Start - Blazing Rubies*
8 - Fairy Wind
11 - Baby-Doll Eyes
14 - Incinerate
18 - Confide
22 - Swift
26 - Draining Kiss
30 - Will-O-Wisp
35 - Trick
40 - Energy Ball
45 - Flamethrower
50 - Moonblast

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Psychic
Fire Blast
Solar Beam
Shadow Ball
Calm Mind
Hex
Roost
Nasty Plot

Considered by many to be a paragon of elegance, Infeyno is refined and calm rather than mischievous and energetic. Scientists believe that the wings weathered away into powder that was compacted and heated to form the gemstones embedded in its hands. By refracting light through them, Infeyno can fire off rays of focused heat and light.

*Category: Special. Type: Fairy. Power: 80. Accuracy: 100. PP: 10. 20% chance to burn the target.

One more line left until all of the starters are done!

Cupsea (Cupid + Sea)
Category: Sea Angel
Type: Water
Ability: Torrent. HA: Magic Guard.
70/50/65/55/65/40
Evolves into Aquangel @ Level 17
Start - Bubble
Start - Play Nice
8 - Confusion
11 - Helping Hand
14 - Water Pulse
17 - Calm Mind
20 - Aqua Ring
23 - Icy Wind
26 - Charm

32 - Muddy Water
35 - Miracle Eye
38 - Hydro Pump

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Future Sight
Heal Pulse
Recover
Ice Beam
Scald
Energy Ball
Shadow Ball
Dazzling Gleam

Cupsea is the Water starter of the Yooru region. They're compassionate Pokemon that are eager to help those in need, whether or not the recipient of their help wants it or not. They move slowly, however, so an annoyed Pokemon can avoid them easily, but that won't stop Cupsea from tailing them. Because of their docility, they're recommended for beginners.

Aquangel (Aquatic + Angel)
Category: Sea Angel
Type: Water/Psychic
Ability: Torrent. HA: Magic Guard.
85/65/80/75/80/55
Evolves into Sylphocea @ Level 30
Start - Bubble
Start - Play Nice
Start - Liquidation
8 - Confusion
11 - Helping Hand
14 - Water Pulse
17 - Calm Mind
21 - Aqua Ring
25 - Icy Wind
29 - Charm
33 - Psychic
37 - Muddy Water
41 - Miracle Eye
45 - Hydro Pump

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Future Sight
Heal Pulse
Recover
Ice Beam
Scald
Energy Ball
Shadow Ball
Dazzling Gleam

Aquangel is just as caring as ever, but alas, it can be naive. Tales of them helping evildoers who tricked them with kindness are well known, and serve as a warning to trainers to teach their Aquangel the difference between right and wrong. Their latent psychic powers have grown stronger, and they use these powers to assist their friends if they need it.

Sylphocea (Sylph + Ocean)
Category: Sea Angel
Type: Water/Psychic
Ability: Torrent. HA: Magic Guard.
95/80/100/95/100/70
Start - Bubble
Start - Play Nice
Start - Spiritual Healing*
8 - Confusion
11 - Helping Hand
14 - Water Pulse
17 - Calm Mind
21 - Aqua Ring
25 - Icy Wind
29 - Charm
34 - Psychic
39 - Muddy Water
44 - Miracle Eye
49 - Hydro Pump

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Future Sight
Heal Pulse
Recover
Ice Beam
Scald
Energy Ball
Shadow Ball
Dazzling Gleam
Psycho Shift

Sylphocea is considered the caretaker of the sea. It has a very motherly personality that makes it great with both human and Pokemon children alike. Much like Aquangel, however, it will always stand up for what it believes is right, so if it’s tricked by someone with bad intentions, it can unwittingly fight for the wrong side. Regardless, it will put itself in harm's way for the sake of others.

*Type: Psychic. Category: Status. Accuracy: None. PP: 5. Cuts remaining HP in half to revive a fallen ally by the same amount. For example, if Sylphocea uses this when it has only 10 HP left, it and the Pokemon it revives will only have 5 HP each.

So, which of these starters would you pick?

Time for the regional rodent...or lagomorph, I guess.

Stroop (Stroke + Droop)
Category: Art Lop
Type: Normal
Ability: Prankster. HA: Technician.
50/45/40/30/35/50
Evolves into Primepoff @ Level 20.
Start - Leer
Start - Pound
Start - Growl
7 - Mud Slap
10 - Bite
13 - Double Slap
17 - Sweet Kiss
20 - Super Fang
23 - Tearful Look
27 - Bounce
33 - Crunch
35 - Play Rough
38 - Return
45 - Sketch

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
ANYTHING. IT HAS SKETCH, FOR PETE'S SAKE.

Stroop make brushes by taking a stick with soft wood and breaking a piece off the end. They dip the exposed soft wood in a mix of berry juice and saliva creating a brush that they carry with them constantly. They mark their homes with personalized graffiti, which can be problematic if they live in cities and the like.

Primepoff (Primer + Poff[Corruption of puff])
Category: Artiste
Type: Normal
Ability: Prankster. HA: Technician.
70/85/80/60/75/90
Start - Leer
Start - Pound
Start - Growl
7 - Mud Slap
10 - Bite
13 - Double Slap
17 - Sweet Kiss
20 - Super Fang
24 - Tearful Look
28 - Bounce
34 - Crunch
36 - Play Rough
42 - Return
47 - Sketch

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
ANYTHING. IT HAS SKETCH, FOR PETE'S SAKE.

Primepoff now dips the ends of its ears into its mixture, and is very passionate about its art. If anyone tries to remove it, Primepoff will stare at them with tears in its eyes until they give in and leave the art alone. Strokes made by Primepoff are much bigger than those made by Stroop, which makes it very easy to tell how many Primepoff are in a pack.

(yes I know it looks like Ducklett)
Odozin (Odor + Hoatzin)
Category: Stinkbird
Type: Poison/Flying
Abilities: Stench/Poison Touch. HA: Corrosion.
40/40/45/50/35/50
Evolves into Flatuzin @ Level 18.
Start - Tackle
5 - Sand Attack
8 - Gust
11 - Acid
14 - Twister
17 - Air Cutter
20 - Roost
23 - Feather Dance
26 - Air Slash
29 - Sludge Bomb
32 - Uproar
35 - Amnesia
38 - Brave Bird
41 - Explosion

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Heat Wave
Ominous Wind
Sludge Wave
Calm Mind
Dark Pulse
Shadow Ball
Yawn
Will-O-Wisp

Odozin's natural body oils break up dirt and other pollutants, so they're always welcome in areas with a lot of trash. The catch? These oils make Odozin smell just as bad as the junk it destroys. And wiping it clean of all oils makes it anxious, so it'll exude more of it to calm itself down. In other words, there is NO way to stop these guys from smelling bad.

(yES I KNOW IT LOOKS LIKE TRANQUILL)
Flatuzin (Flatulence + Hoatzin)
Category: Stinkbird
Type: Poison/Flying
Abilities: Stench/Poison Touch. HA: Corrosion.
60/55/50/75/45/70
Evolves into Noxizin @ Level 30.
Start - Tackle
5 - Sand Attack
8 - Gust
11 - Acid
14 - Twister
17 - Air Cutter
21 - Roost
25 - Feather Dance
29 - Air Slash
33 - Sludge Bomb
37 - Uproar
41 - Amnesia
45 - Brave Bird
49 - Explosion

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Heat Wave
Ominous Wind
Sludge Wave
Calm Mind
Dark Pulse
Shadow Ball
Yawn
Will-O-Wisp

Flatuzin smells better than Odozin due to the oils on its body being largely produced by glands at the base of its tail rather than its entire body. I still wouldn't recommend sniffing it, though, for obvious reasons. If startled, it turns around and sprays a strong jet of the oil right into the eyes and nose of the offender.

Noxizin (Noxious + Hoatzin)
Category: Stinkbird
Type: Poison/Flying
Abilities: Stench/Poison Touch. HA: Corrosion.
70/80/75/100/70/95
Start - Tackle
Start - Hurricane
5 - Sand Attack
8 - Gust
11 - Acid
14 - Twister
17 - Air Cutter
21 - Roost
25 - Feather Dance
29 - Air Slash
34 - Sludge Bomb
39 - Uproar
44 - Amnesia
49 - Brave Bird
54 - Explosion

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Heat Wave
Ominous Wind
Sludge Wave
Calm Mind
Dark Pulse
Shadow Ball
Yawn
Will-O-Wisp

Noxizin's expression never betrays its emotions, so for decades people have been trying to find "tells" as to what it's feeling at the moment. A popular rumor is that you can tell how it's feeling by smelling the vapor coming from the glands near its tail feathers. If you value your nostrils, don't do that. Speaking of the glands, they can launch a pressurized jet of stinky fluid that can dent metal.

Fractab (Fractal + Scarab)
Category: Jewel Beetle
Type: Bug
Ability: Clear Body. HA: Sturdy.
55/60/80/20/60/20
Evolves into Claritab @ Level 22.
Start - Harden
Start - Scratch
3 - Sand Attack
6 - Absorb
9 - Bug Bite
12 - Hone Claws
15 - Rock Throw
18 - Rock Polish
21 - Knock Off
24 - Leech Life
27 - Rock Slide
30 - Curse
33 - Earthquake
36 - Head Smash

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Iron Defense
Iron Head
X-Scissor
Night Slash
Ingrain
Stealth Rock
Stone Edge
Magic Coat
Reflect
Poison Jab

Fractab are vain Pokemon that constantly shine their carapace, even if there's nothing around to judge them. They live in colonies with a hierarchy based on beauty, and this factor is determined by the Claritabs of said colony. They feed on tiny crystals in the rocks where they live, adding to their exoskeleton's durability.

Claritab (Clarity + Scarab)
Category: Jewel Beetle
Type: Bug/Rock
Ability: Clear Body. HA: Sturdy.
75/85/120/40/90/60
Start - Harden
Start - Scratch
Start - Mirror Coat
3 - Sand Attack
6 - Absorb
9 - Bug Bite
12 - Hone Claws
15 - Rock Throw
18 - Rock Polish
21 - Knock Off
25 - Leech Life
29 - Rock Slide
33 - Curse
37 - Earthquake
41 - Head Smash

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Iron Defense
Iron Head
X-Scissor
Night Slash
Ingrain
Stealth Rock
Stone Edge
Magic Coat
Reflect
Poison Jab
Swords Dance
Counter

Fractab are vain, but Claritab are incredibly narcissistic. They take such pride in their carapaces, anything that sullies them gets impaled on the sharp crystals on their back. This is done by the Claritab knocking the offender down and lying down on them. The crystals are formed and maintained by draining mineral deposits with a proboscis that can penetrate diamond.

Category: Otter
Type: Water/Grass
Ability: Swift Swim/Gluttony. HA: Cheek Pouch.
60/50/50/50/50/60
Evolves into Garnotto @ Level 18.
Start - Splash
Start - Water Sport
3 - Bubble
7 - Baby-Doll Eyes

17 - Taunt
19 - Leaf Tornado

40 - Belly Drum

Notable Non-Level Up Moves
Seed Bomb
Waterfall
Scald
Grass Whistle
Amnesia
Zen Headbutt
Body Slam
Ice Punch/Beam
Rain Dance
Grassy Terrain

Parslotto can "breathe" underwater by sticking its tail above the surface to extract carbon dioxide, which its body naturally converts into a gas that enriches it. It’s very playful and can frequently be found skipping flat stones across water.

Garnotto (Garnish + Otter)
Category: Otter
Type: Water/Grass
Ability: Swift Swim/Gluttony. HA: Cheek Pouch.
