Pal Park Guide
- Introduction
- Areas
Pal Park is an amazing place where you can bring over your previously owned Pokémon from the ADV series of the games into the beautiful world of Sinnoh.
- Unless you perform the Pal Park trick, you can only transfer up to 6 Pokémon per cartridge each day. For more information on this phenomenon, please visit the Fourth-Generation Tips and Tricks Guide.
- You must catch all the Pokémon inside the Pal Park before you can transfer more.
- Pokémon that know any HM moves including the now TM move Flash cannot be transferred.
- Pokémon holding mail cannot be transferred through Pal Park.
- Eggs cannot be transferred.
- Once a Pokémon is transferred to the Pal Park it is gone from your ADV game forever.
- The rarer the Pokémon you catch, the more points you get.
- Bonus points if all the Pokémon you catch in the Pal Park are of different types.
- Bonus points are awarded for taking less time in capturing all of your Pokémon in the Pal Park.

In the 4th generation, some Pokémon who had only a single ability gained a second. When Pal Parking these Pokémon, it is important to understand what will happen. In the case of Pokémon who do not evolve, or are already fully evolved, no ability change can take place. In the case of those who do evolve there is a 50/50 chance the ability changing on evolution. For example, Absol, who does not evolve and has a single ability in the 3rd generation, will always be stuck with Pressure. Zigzagoon, on the other hand, does evolve. If Zigzagoon evolves after Pal Parking it can end up with either Pickup or Gluttony.
This mechanic is important because it makes a number of movesets and abilities, which may seem perfectly fine, illegal. For instance, Absol may not have Super Luck and the move Counter. Counter is a 3rd generation tutor move and since Absol has no evolution there is no possible way for it to have that combination. 3rd generation Egg moves are also illegal when combined with 4th generation only abilities on Pokémon who do not evolve.
