T.U.C.

I am an old school Pokemon gamer. I have been around since the beginning. I was only nine when I got my first pokemon game, Blue Version. I didn't start worrying about competitiveness until I was an adolescent, during gen 3. In the old days, I was a GameTalk loyalist, known as The Ultimate Chaorro (Sonic Adventure 2 reference). I would have never touched Smogon, as the culture and atmosphere was very volatile and unfriendly. "Smug-on" is what my circle of friends and I would call it. Today, Smogon is a very different scene and has a much friendlier atmosphere. Smogon has also been a pivotal tool in helping me launch into the competitive arena. I thought I was competitive years ago, but now I see that I was mistaken. I am now taking the next step into competitive Pokemon battling, by joining the Smogon forums and becoming an active member.

My field of focus is Battle Spot and VGC. I am a current generation cartridge player. If I cannot obtain a monster or a particular build for a monster in the current generation cartridge and use it in battle spot or VGC battles, then I will not be using it, even on PS. It is my goal to one day enter a live VGC tournament once I become a better competitive battler. Aiming for VGC 2017.

My specialty is breeding and creating builds for individual Pokemon. I am not new to the concept of team building and team synergy. However, this is not an area of expertise for me and I wish to hone this skill through my efforts on the forums. Any constructive criticism is much appreciated. My first well put together team was for the Kanto Classic. Smogon was pivotal in helping me create this team with good synergy and great metagame coverage. Thank you for all your help!

What I want from Smogon is to learn how to become a better competitive battler for VGC and to use the resources that Smogon has made available to players in the competitive atmosphere to achieve that goal.

What I bring to Smogon is an open mind to competitive battling. I believe that "Nothing is Impossible." Creativity and Knowledge are the true powers of great players. It is my hope that I can add value to the creative side of discussions. In the future, as I become more well versed with Smogon etiquette and the competitive framework, I want to contribute to the community as a whole. I love breeding and it is my goal to one day be able to help Smogon with their Give-away program and/or help others acquire the Pokemon they need with similar give-aways. It should be noted here that I already participate in Wonder Trade Wednesday's (inspired by some Poketubers). So try your luck every Wednesday evening between 5-11:59pm ETS.

~Wonder Trade Covenant~
1. Only trade good Pokemon. Good Pokemon should have at least one of, and preferably 2 or more of, the following:
- 31 IV's in more than one stat. (I usually trade Outstanding mons)
- Desirable nature
- One or more Egg Moves
- Hidden Ability
- Desirable species
- (to a lesser extent) desirable items and/or other desirables not already mentioned.
NOTE: All pokemon traded on Wonder Trade Wednesdays (and on any other day of the week, imo) should add some value to the pool, and make it richer and more diverse in some way.

2. Do NOT knowingly trade bad Pokemon. Bad pokemon include, but are not limited to:
- Hacked pokemon (not to be confused with clones or RNG)
- Common and easily obtainable pokemon (ex: Zigzagoon, Wurmple, Bunnelby, Magicarp, etc...). AKA: Wonder Trade fodder. This is simply unacceptable, as it lowers the overall value of the pool and makes Wonder Trade less fun, and less of a tool.
- PlayThrough Pokemon: do not trade any pokemon that you used to play through the game (ex: lvl 57 Swampert) as they are usually worthless and do not add value to the Wonder Trade pool.
- Do not trade any of the following pokemon under any circumstances, unless the pokemon is exceptional (ex: Fletchling with 6 perfect IV's, Hidden Ability, holding a Master Ball, has an Egg Move or two, and is Female). These mons are simple very common on Wonder Trade. So much so, that despite being a "good pokemon", they no longer add value to the pool. If you are a frequent Wonder Trader, you already understand why this rule is here. These pokemon include: Raltz, Fletchling, and Eevee, among others.

3. Do NOT knowingly allow the spread of Bad Pokemon. This rule will help monitor the pool of pokemon on Wonder Trade Wednesday's and aims to keep the pool rich and diverse. Should you receive a "bad pokemon" (see number 2 above for what constitutes a bad pokemon) you should remove it from the pool immediately. You can do this in one of two ways: you can release the pokemon, deleting it from pokemon history forever, or you can box the pokemon. Either way, don't simply use it as Wonder Trade Fodder.

4. Exceptions:
- Wonderlocke: If you are unfamiliar with the term, simply put a Wonderlocke is a variant of a Nuzlocke, in which players attempt to play through the main story of the game, from start to finish, with player created restrictions to make the game more challenging. For more information on Nuzlockes and an in-depth description on how Wonderlockes work, click here. Due to the nature of a Wonderlocke, bad pokemon will inevitably be traded and therefore, is listed as an exception to the Covenant.

Special Note: I apologize if a similar WT Covenant already exists somewhere on Smogon. This is simply the Wonder Trade Covenant that I choose to obey. I encourage anyone who wishes to use Wonder Trade to do the same, as I believe it will help maintain a rich and diverse pool of pokemon and ultimately make Wonder Trade more fun.
