    Pokémon Sableye

Has anyone tried running Metal Burst on this thing? A fairly bulky Pokemon with access to (sometimes) priority recover, and near immunity to non-attacking moves when mega evolved seems like it could use it very effectively, especially against Pokemon trying to attack you directly during your...

    Pokémon Swampert

I actually completely forgot. I thought it was like Payback where it just did more damage if you take a hit before it comes out. then again if you have rain you're probably faster than M.Salamence anyway and should be able to two-shot it. I guess it doesn't make a whole lot of difference since...

    Pokémon Swampert

How about Avalanche, then? Assuming of course that rain is not in play.

Sticky Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

speaking of soundtrack, I'm looking forward to a remix of Mt. Pyre's theme.

    Gimmicks you wish worked better

Stockpile + swallow + spit up has always been a funny move combo that was never any good. Also defense curl + rollout, and other such silly moves.

Sticky Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

Mega Swampert is so beautiful. I am in love. I was totally expecting them to make another ugly, bottom-heavy mega out of him but instead we got this glorious juggernaut that retains most of the charming qualities of the original design. The same can pretty much be said about M.Sceptile. A+...

    Pokémon Smeargle

All lead smeargles should consider utilising Magic Coat in order to deal with Taunt. Whenever I see a Smeargle in an opponent's team lineup, I always lead with a taunt user. I had one throw my own taunt back at me the other day with Magic Coat, which was quite interesting to say the least.

    Pokémon Heliolisk

It's a very viable glass cannon. It makes up for poor defenses by just having outright immunities to important priority attacks (Shadow Sneak and Aqua Jet) which allows it to come on on a surprising amount of things. Well, assuming it has Dry Skin. Solar Power Heliolisk is a real risky glass cannon.

Other Most overhyped or underated aspect this gen so far?

Crobat still does the job better for my team than any alternatives I could find. Defog, U-turn and Taunt on top of being the fastest thing to get them all in one moveset.

    [COMPLETED] Garchomp

It definately won't be useless when/if Mega Kangaskahn is banned. That set also crushes Talonflame and severely limits the options of many other common physical attackers.

    [COMPLETED] Heliolisk

It's also immune to Ghost, and is therefore immune to Shadow Sneak. Dry Skin heliolisk is immune to two powerful forms of priority which got increasingly popular this gen. That's why it's not just a weaker Jolteon.

    Other Is Weather Still Viable?

Dry Skin Heliolisk doesn't care about weather for the most part. It's utility comes from being able to absorb water moves. Solar Power variant of course does really need to be concerned about the limited sun turns.

    Other Is Weather Still Viable?

not going to mention Solar Power Heliolisk, Mega Venasaur and Mega Houndoom for sun teams?

    Pokémon Banette

Insomnia gives you the liesure of switching in against most Smeargle leads and taunting them while safely mega-evolving, so there's that.

    [COMPLETED] Garchomp

If you want analysis on why the bulky set is good, just go look at the Druddigon WIP I did. Most of the same usage applies with some minor tweaks to the calcs since these pokemon are so similar at this role (with Garchomp being undeniably better for the most part save for lacking Sucker Punch...

    [WIP] Druddigon

ninja'd, but yeah, Chomp doesn't get Sucker Punch or any form of priority, has a nasty 4x ice type weakness and probably would be better off running a sweeper set anyway. The things that separate Druddigon from Garchomp are small but I still think it's enough for him to be an alternative choice...

OU Pokemon Previews - Index, Rules, and Reservations

I think I've said all that I can currently say in my Druddigon wip. I'll keep using him to see if I can spot any other common counters or checks that need mentioning.

    [QC READY 2/3] Weavile

Lucario doesn't like switching in on Low Sweep though, and for obvious reasons it can't switch in on Pursuit. But yeah for the most part it's a very solid check.

    Pokémon Goodra [REVAMP]

It's kind of scary some of the things Goodra can safely 2 or 3ko with completely uninvested mixed offenses, simply scoring super effective hits. It wins trades with Greninjas, Starmies, Vaporeons, even Jolly Scizor, whom it 2KOs with flamethrower while surviving even a +2 Iron Head. For this...

    [COMPLETED] Trevenant

Choice band Weavile OKO's with Icicle Crash and 2KO's with pursuit with no switch, though life orb only have a chance to KO with Icicle Crash (pursuit does around 40-50% out of switch) So that might be something to watch out for too. That said, Will-O-wisp does make attacking a full health...
