VGC Calyrex-Shadow [GP 1/1]

[SET]
Offensive (Calyrex-Shadow) @ Spell Tag / Life Orb / Choice Specs
Ability: As One (Spectrier)
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy / Ghost
EVs: 28 HP / 84 Def / 140 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
- Astral Barrage
- Draining Kiss / Psyshock / Expanding Force
- Nasty Plot / Draining Kiss / Shadow Ball
- Protect / Shadow Ball

[SET COMMENTS]
With blazing Special Attack, high Speed, and As One making it even more threatening after picking up a KO with its powerful Astral Barrage, Calyrex-S is the most powerful sweeper in the game. Nasty Plot allows it to take advantage of the opponent playing passively to become unstoppable. Psyshock threatens opposing Calm Mind users such as Terapagos and Raging Bolt. Draining Kiss can also be used to hit Dark-types and provide Calyrex-S with recovery. Expanding Force can be an option when paired with Indeedee-F, as it has more power than Psyshock in general. Nasty Plot is a must on Spell Tag sets but can be eschewed in favor of an attacking move for Life Orb and Choice Specs variants; sometimes, Shadow Ball is used on Choice Specs to get around Wide Guard. Choice Specs maximizes Calyrex-S's power in return for less flexibility, while Life Orb is mainly used on Expanding Force sets in order to increase the damage output of both STAB moves while keeping the flexibility of Protect. Alternatively, Spell Tag gives Calyrex-S a boost to its main STAB moves with no drawbacks. The HP and Defense investment allows Calyrex-S to survive Tera Water Surging Strikes from Urshifu-R, and maximum Speed investment is run for opposing Calyrex-S, which can be crucial in deciding the game, as they both either OHKO each other with Astral Barrage or force Terastallization. The Special Attack investment allows Calyrex-S to OHKO bulkier Flutter Mane with Spell Tag, allows Life Orb variants to 2HKO Incineroar with Astral Barrage after a boost from Nasty Plot, and ensures that Choice Specs variants almost always OHKO Calyrex-I from full HP. Fairy is the main Tera type for Calyrex-S, as it is neutral into the majority of the metagame and flips the matchup against Urshifu-S while also boosting the power of Draining Kiss. Ghost is an alternative, however, to boost Astral Barrage's power to even more dangerous levels.

Calyrex-S being given an opportunity to set up Nasty Plot can end the game, so Pokemon with Fake Out and redirection support are highly appreciated. Incineroar, Rillaboom, Amoonguss, and Ogerpon-W are all common partners. Amoonguss also has the benefit of thriving under Trick Room, a matchup which Calyrex-S struggles against, due to its high Speed and frailty being turned against it. Fighting-types such as Mienshao and Urshifu-R are used to deal with Ghost-resistant Pokemon like Incineroar, Terapagos, and Chien-Pao. Speed control is a common way to take advantage of Calyrex-S's frailty, such as using sun to activate Protosynthesis on Flutter Mane, which can OHKO Calyrex-S with Shadow Ball and 2HKO it with Moonblast, regardless of whether Calyrex-S Terastallizes. Therefore, Pokemon that can provide speed control to keep it the fastest Pokemon on the field, like Tornadus, make an excellent fit and have the advantage of also helping in the Calyrex-S mirror matchup. Indeedee-F is a notable partner for Calyrex-S, giving it redirection in Follow Me and Helping Hand support while being able to reverse opposing Trick Room, block threatening priority such as Sucker Punch from Chien-Pao and Urshifu-S, and turn Expanding Force into a brutal sweeping tool.

Calyrex-Shadow @ Spell Tag / Choice Specs / Life Orb
Ability: As One (Spectrier)
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy / Normal (Correct me if Im wrong but doesn't it have 0 usage? at least from limitless tournaments I've scrolled past.)
EVs: 28 HP / 84 Def / 140 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
- Astral Barrage
- Draining Kiss / Psyshock / Expanding Force / Psychic (Kind of worse Psyshock, Wide Guard Zama seems to not be very common and Life Orb Psychic misses the 2HKO, they'd probably take care of a Caly S that can't Astral Barrage in a 3 turn window.)
- Nasty Plot / Draining Kiss / Shadow Ball
- Protect / Trick

* With blazing Special Attack and Speed and As One making it even more threatening after picking up a KO with it's powerful Astral Barrage, Calyrex-S is the most powerful sweeper in the game. Nasty Plot allows it to take advantage of the opponent playing passively to becomes become unstoppable. After Astral Barrage, Psyshock is a popular choice to threaten opposing Calm Mind users such as Terapagos and Raging Bolt. Draining Kiss can also be used to hit Dark-types (Dash) and provide Calyrex-S recovery. Expanding Force can be an option with partners that can set up Psychic Terrain Indeedee-F (I don't think anything else does, probably mention its power, as that is why its used.) and lastly, Psychic paired with nasty plot can be used to more effectively beat Wide Guard Zamazenta. Nasty Plot is a must on Spell Tag sets but can be eschewed in favour of an attacking move for Life Orb and Choice Specs variants, sometimes Shadow Ball is used on Choice Specs to get around Wide Guard. Trick is used exclusively on Choice Specs sets to cripple opposing defensive pieces and Sucker Punch users such as Chien-Pao and Urshifu-S. Spell Tag gives Calyrex-S a boost to it's main STAB with no drawbacks while Choice Specs maximizes power in return for less flexibility. Life Orb is mainly used on Expanding Force sets in order to increase the damage output of both STABS while keeping the flexibility of Protect. The HP and Defense investment allows Calyrex-S to live Tera Water Surging Strikes from Urshifu-R and maximum speed investment is used in order to go first vs for (It's a speed tie.) opposing Calyrex, which can be crucial in deciding the game as they both either OHKO each other or force Terastallization with Astral Barrage. The Special Attack investment allows Calyrex-S to OHKO bulkier Flutter Mane with Spell Tag, Life Orb variants to 2HKO Incineroar with Astral Barrage after a boost from Nasty Plot, and Choice Specs Variants have a favourable roll to almost always (Gives off the impression that its more like a 9 or 10/16 roll) OHKO Calyrex-I from full. Fairy is the main Tera type for Calyrex-S, as it is neutral into the majority of the metagame and flips the matchup vs Urshifu-S while also boosting the power of Draining Kiss. Alternatively, Tera Normal is highly effective for the Calyrex-S mirror, allowing the Calyrex-S player to no longer rely on speed ties vs opposing Calyrex-S.

* Calyrex-S been being given an opportunity to set up Nasty Plot can end the game, so Pokemon with Fake Out and redirection support are highly appreciated. Incineroar, Rillaboom, Amoonguss, and Ogerpon-H/Ogerpon-W (no Hearthflame Caly S teams have any success) are all common partners. Fighting types to deal with Ghost resists (Like?) also make perfect partners for Calyrex, such as Mienshao and Urshifu. Speed control is a common way to take advantage of Calyrex-S's frailty, so pokemon that can provide speed control to keep it the fastest thing on the field like Tornadus make an excellent fit and have and the advantage of also helping in the Calyrex-S mirror. Indeedee-F is a notable partner for Calyrex-S, giving it redirection in Follow Me and Helping Hand support while being able to reverse opposing Trick Room and turn Expanding Force into a brutal sweeping tool. Common counter to Calyrex-S include Terapagos, who can Calm Mind it's way through anything not Nasty Plot boosted Psyshock. Dark types like Incineroar, Urshifu and Chien-Pao can also pose a problem for Calyrex-S, being able to force Terastallization. Furthermore, Flutter Mane with Protosynthesis can outspeed and threaten to OHKO Calyrex-S with Shadow Ball or 2HKO it with Tera Fairy Moonblast, regardless of whether the Calyrex-S player Terastallizes. Additionally, Wide Guard users like Zamazenta-C and Lunala can give Calyrex-S firing off Astral Barrage. Lastly, Trick Room can be used against Calyrex-S to turn it's high speed and frailty against it, making it susceptible to likes of Glacial Lance from Calyrex-I. (I do feel like a lot of this can/has already been mentioned while talking about partners, prevents the analysis from being so long.)

With blazing Special Attack, (AC) and Speed, (AC) and As One (since you were listing things i figured i'd make it "x, y, and z" instead of "x and y and z"; especially since you didn't collectively refer SpA and Spe as "stats" but listed them individually) making it even more threatening after picking up a KO with it's its powerful Astral Barrage, Calyrex-S is the most powerful sweeper in the game.
