Deino

sister

Banned deucer.
[OVERVIEW]
Deino may appear to be a strong wallbreaker with its arsenal of good coverage moves backed by Hustle, but its capability in the current Little Cup metagame is actually rather limited. Its Speed is terrible, forcing it to use a Choice Scarf or risk being overrun by faster threats. While its defensive typing gives it useful resistances to Water, Grass, Electric, and Dark, its weaknesses to common Fighting- and Fairy-types only further limit its usefulness. Deino's reliance on Hustle as its main source of power means it is unreliable, ultimately leaving Deino as a poor choice in a metagame full of more potent threats.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Outrage
move 2: Crunch
move 3: Superpower
move 4: Zen Headbutt
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Hustle
nature: Jolly
evs: 20 HP / 236 Atk / 36 SpD / 212 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
This set aims to hit as hard and fast as possible with Choice Scarf and Outrage, which dents everything that doesn't resist it. Unfortunately, being locked into a Dragon-type move leaves it vulnerable to Fairy-types, who completely wall Deino. Even with Hustle and a decent Attack stat, Dieno still struggles to break past certain defensive Pokemon. Its reliance on Choice Scarf to be effective further hurts its ability to find a spot on a team. Overall, this set is outclassed by other wallbreakers like Rufflet, which also has Hustle and arguably better coverage, and Cranidos, which has a far superior Attack stat. There are also better choices for Choice Scarf users, such as Snivy. Ultimately, Deino is a usually a sub-optimal pick in the Little Cup metagame.

[OVERVIEW]

Call Deino a wallbreaker rather than the overly general "physical attacker", it's more specific to what Deino tries to be. Rather than being vague by saying "it's defensive typing comes with a unique set of resistances" be specific about what the useful resistances are, or if unique wasn't meant to mean useful then say that. Ice-types aren't common like Fairy- and Fighting-types are, either remove it or specify that Deino is weak to these types of moves (and even then Ice-type moves aren't astoundingly common). Again, be specific about what Pokemon outclass Deino as a wallbreaker, recommendation is Rufflet and Cranidos.

[SET]

Fix brackets, brackets should say [SET], name of set is below. I'd prefer to have Deino with 36 SpD EVs instead of 36 Def EVs since that gives you a slightly better Snivy and Magnemite switch in, but if you believe 36 Def is better please let me know why, I could certainly be missing something.

[SET COMMENTS]

It's not just that Outrage does nothing to Fairy-types, it's also that Deino has nothing to hit Fairy-types with at all, since none of its coverage moves come close to 2HKOing. Replace Gastly and Doduo with Rufflet, 4 examples isn't really necessary, 3 is pretty much the right number.

I think Deino is one of those mons that isn't wholly outclassed, it just kinda sucks. Maybe change some of the wording around to make that clear, looks fine otherwise. 2/2
