Delcatty's bad movepool and poor stats bar its decent Speed make it completely outclassed by other Normal-types such as Stoutland and Alolan Raticate. However, the most notable is Kangaskhan, which, on top of having the same Speed stat and double priority, has a better movepool, better stats, and an ability that allows it to hit Ghost-types, rather than be completely walled by them like in Delcatty's case.

This set is centered around Delcatty's main unique attribute in Normalize. It allows Delcatty to hit Ground-types with Thunder Wave and gives Delcatty double STAB priority. However, this also leaves Delcatty completely ineffective against Ghost-types, allowing Pokemon like Froslass and Oricorio-G to use it as complete setup bait, on top of being already hard walled by Steel- and Rock-types. Because of its bad stats, little movepool, and mediocre ability, Delcatty is simply outclassed by Normal-types like Kangaskhan.
