:bw/mime jr:
Mime Jr. [Bubbles] (M)

Stage 1/5

Types: Psychic/Fairy

STAB

STAB

Abilities:

Soundproof / Filter / Technician

Soundproof: Pokemon with this ability emit their own powerful electrostatic or sound-dampening field, making them immune to moves tagged as #Sound other than an ally's or their own Heal Bell. #Molded

Filter: This Pokemon has a special energy barrier that reduces the Base Attack Power of any opponent's super effective attack by two (2). #Molded

Technician (Not yet unlocked): This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their one-hit or two-hit attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power on each hit multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, Double Hit to from 4 per hit to 6 per hit etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack that has its BAP increased by Technician is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects. Technician only applies to combos in the rare case that an initial hit will have 6 or less BAP.

Stage 1/5

Types: Ice

STAB; immune to Hail damage, freeze status, and Sheer Cold.

Abilities:

Snow Cloak / Slush Rush / Rattled

Snow Cloak: This Pokemon is used to snowy blizzard conditions and gains a flat 20% evasion boost during Hail. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Hail damage. #Molded

Slush Rush: This Pokémon can move extremely fast when it is snowing or hailing, doubling (×2) its speed under hail conditions. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Hail damage.

Rattled: This Pokemon is easily frightened. Being struck by Intimidate or by a Ghost-, Bug-, or Dark-typed attack will raise its Speed by one (1) stage. If this ability was triggered by an opponent, the natural stage is also adjusted.

Stage 1/5

Types: Ghost/Steel

STAB; cannot be prevented from switching via any means (e.g. Trapping Moves, Partial Trapping Moves, Shadow Tag, Arena Trap, Ingrain, etc.). Moves that trap their target will still have all other effects on a Ghost-type, such as the damage from partial trapping moves and the healing from Ingrain.

STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.

Abilities:

Levitate

Levitate: This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, granting the Hovering status. Ground moves can still hit.

Hovering: The Pokemon is immune to Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power has -3 BAP when targeting the Pokemon. Dig and Dive will miss when targeting the Pokemon unless their user is at least SC 5, is Hovering, or is a Flying-type.

Ah, I do love beginner battles. They mark something, they keep with you for the rest of your adventure. They are, in one word, special.
Today Flo is bringing the fearsome Bubbles with its bag of tricks, as well as a defensive Nohface.
He will have to face quite the interesting team. To note is Justyke, whose appearance might be the first in a BBP match, everyone otherwise rushing to the Equilibra stage. Justyke is way cuter though.
Anyway, let's flip that coin and cheer them on!

Coin flip: 0-5000: Flo | 5001-10000: Winter

Right off the bat we get to see uncommon moves, as Nohface's first movr is to Curse its opponent, putting it on a timer since this is a Switch = KO match.
Justyke retaliates with Guard Split, which does protect it from the subsequent attack, but will expire in one round! A lucky Special Defense drop worsens Nohface's situation, though it wasn't that bright to being with, losing a very sizeable chunk of its HP in a single round.
An early advantage for Winter could snowball in the future, but Flo still has Bubbles The Terrible (not a Chimecho) in the background, so, who knows.

Quite a lot of things to comment on here. First, while ENKO is a rare method of fainting a Pokémon, it sometimes does happen and is as valid a win condition.
Second, please note how the first Earth Power this round cost 10 EN instead of 6. That's because consecutive EN penalty also checks for the last action of the previous round. Be careful about that!
Then we get to Metal Burst. Unlike most formats where damage-returning moves like Counter are pretty useless, they are top tier threats here, and moves you absolutely want to avoid, either by playing around them or burning subs on them. A single Counter can be devastating, so watch out for those!
So now the field has been reset. Let's see how our fighters adapt now!

Mime Jr. got more than what it bargained for with that Barrier, as Vulpix kindly obliged and added a layer of solid ice onto it. Mime Jr. would be winning the damage race if not for that, and with how frail it is at only 70 HP, losing two actions might be decisive! Winter can order with a bit less pressure knowing that, though Vulpix really doesn't do much damage due to how beefy Mime Jr.'s Special Defense is... Oh well, damage is damage!

Ardy orders first (don't forget subs!)

On this round's 'thing to note' list: Mime Jr.'s Def has started decaying since its Defense stat wasn't boosted or lowered this round. It's the same for his Speed but I kinda forgot to mark that one, oops. It had reduced Speed this round and would now get back to normal. Decaying means stat boosts and drops are somewhat situational - for now.
The damage race is somewhat even, with Vulpix sadly wasting an action. Mime Jr. may fall this round, though, so let's watch the next round unfold!
