Escape Button > Scarf if you want to try this out. Scarf does only one thing: "Oh no Entraintment, better switch out"(not a lot of people try to OHKO Durant for some reason, also Protect to scout it exists too...)
Another issue with Weezing is typing your mom. Yes, with levitate it only has 1 weakness (bar mold breaker) but singular poison typing really doesn't have much going for it imo and things like Venu, Dragalge, Tenta can also switch into things like Keldeo, Gengar, Rotom-w if needed but Weezing can't. So Weezing compares pretty badly imo with other poison types because, as a wall, it isn't able to wall/switch in to enough.Weezing suffers a lot of competition with like likes of Mega Venusaur, Dragalge, Tentacruel and Amoonguss as a bulky Poison type
If you're using Sub, Rock Slide is an option over EQ to lure out birds like Talon, Zard and Torny-T for nice damage.Ok, I'll start discussing Gogoat first.
Gogoat, a pokemon that somewhat got attention due to a certain famous someone getting swept by it for the lolz.
A certain Gogoat set got the spotlight in OU, being the Bulk Up set
Gogoat @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant OR Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Horn Leech
- Substitute OR Milk Drink
- Earthquake
Well first of all, one of Gogoat biggest niche in the metagame is Sap Sipper, allowing Gogoat to switch in to mainly Serperior's Leaf Storm. Serperior's Life Orb HP Fire can't even 2HKO Gogoat, and has a very low chance to break Gogoat's sub, allowing Gogoat to counter Serperior. That said there are other argueably better answers to Serperior rather then Gogoat lol.
As a Bulk Up sweeper, it can set up on some passive mons, such as Slowbro/Hippowdown and Clefable and with Substitute, it can set up on M-Sableye(after being Knock Offed) and Rotom-W with some speed investment, however its not a particularly great Bulk Up mon at all. First of all its
slow, making revenging Gogoat rather easy and making it very hard for Gogoat to actually sweep faster teams. It also posseses the pure Grass-typing and it is particularly known for being a rather bad typing defensively with many weaknesses. Offensively grass-typing is also not a very great typing and is easily walled by alot of pokemons with only having to rely on Horn Leech and Earthquake, such as by offensive mons like the Lati twins, Thundurus, Tornadus-T, Gengar, Charizard-Y, and alot of other mons. It is walled by alot of defensive mons, such as Venusaur, Skarmory, Scizor, Talonflame, etc. It is also heavily weak to status, with being Burned stripping its sweeping capability and Poisoned draining the capability of this mon altogether forcing it to run substitute. Without Milk Drink, its longetitivity suffers alot and takes away alot from its viablity as a mon.
Although all of this doesn't mean it cant sweep some unprepared teams!!!
The meta isn't friendly to Gogoat by any means, with the recent popularity in Weavile and Tornadus, as well as Skarmory, Talonflame and Scizor and other relevant mons, making it very hard for this goat to get a spotlight in the metagame. Opinion wise, there are just better setup sweeper in the game and honestly in my opinion this mon probably wont get any spotlight in a high level of competitive scene and is more of a joke/fun mon to run. Offensive Gogoat with a LifeOrb/Scarf/Band doesn't get any mention since its too weak and slow offensively.
Some showcase of Gogoats use are : http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/oususpecttest-234878773 (A famous replay where Gogoat somehow sweeps lol)
<- Tom Bus showcases Gogoat in his youtube video
Also next time might wanna feature a more competitive mon!
