Rules
· Trainers must fill out their trainer form stating the 6 Pokémon which will make up their team. They may not be able to use any Pokémon other than those specified. This form must be handed in to Gametraders staff by midday (12:00pm) Friday 4th March. All late entries will not be accepted.
· Each trainer must bring their own Nintendo DS console and Nintendo DS Game. Those who do not have these are not able to compete. Consoles and/or games may not be shared between competitors.
· The compatible games for the competition will be Pokémon Pearl, Diamond, Platinum, Heart Gold or Soul Silver only.
· Pokémon that are able to be used will be governed by the standard rules of Pokémon competition and by those that are stated on the “Trainer Form”. Any discrepancy shall be resolved by Gametraders staff. Gametraders staff decision is final.
· All Pokémon will be policed at random, before and after battles to confirm that they have been obtained legally, without the use of cheat devices, such as Action Replay and other like devices.
· All Pokémon will be scaled down to Level 50 to ensure a level playing field between all competitors. All Pokémon under level 50 will stay at their respective levels.
· No Pokémon on the “Ineligible Pokémon” are able to be used. Any violation of these rules will result in disqualification. Furthermore, trainers may only use one of each Pokémon. Teams with more than one of any kind of Pokémon will be disqualified.
· Each Trainer will be given a “Trainer Number” upon submission of their Trainer Form. They will then be ranked randomly against others in their age group, in a Playoff Tree format. Winner will progress, whilst the loser will be eliminated. There will be no second chances.
· Upon entry, trainers will be given an approximate time for when their first battle will commence. It will be the trainer’s responsibility to show for their battle early, should the need arise.
· Each match will run for approximately 10 minutes each. More than 1 battle will take place at any one time. These times will be made known to the trainers before their battle to ensure that they are present. If a trainer is not present for their battle, at minimum 10 minutes before it begins, they will be disqualified, and the remaining trainer will be the winner by default. This decision is final.
· For round battles, each trainer is able to choose 3 Pokémon from their previously chosen 6 to battle. Once the competition is to the final 8 trainers, they may battle with all 6 Pokémon.

- If an environmental factor knocks out both players last Pokemon, the result is a tie.
- If all remaining Pokemon are knocked out from Spikes or Stealth Rock etc. the game will result in a tie.
- If a Pokemon's ability or held item results in all Pokemon being knocked out, it is a tie.
- If you select run, even if by accident, you forfeit the match.
- 'Uber' Pokemon are banned
- Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
- Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing pokémon.
- Freeze Clause: A player cannot freeze two or more different opposing Pokémon.
- Evasion Clause: A player cannot increase their Pokémon's evasion stat with a move that specifically increases evasion. Items or indirect boosts do not break this clause.
- OHKO Clause: Players cannot use moves that have a chance of instantly KO opposing Pokémon. For example, Horn Drill is an illegal move to have on a Pokémon's move set.
- Self-KO Clause: Players cannot use moves such as Explosion or Selfdestruct that force a tie. If a move that has recoil damage causes a tie, the user of the move is the winner.

Meh, I'll have to travel by boat/plane to get there, & I'm too lazy...Plus I don't have much free time due to college. Sorry, unable to come. If only I lived in Melbourne...

I don't know why I even bothered checking this out. It's not like anything interesting ever happens in Perth ...

Yet people from all around the world know Sydney more then Melbourne, yet they dont even give it to Sydney. Anyway is this the first pokemon tournament in Australia?
If it was it is a pretty bad first try, hopefully more tournaments involving more places become available

I know what you mean, Blue Kirby. Nothing every happens here in Sydney, the largest and oldest city in Australia and the most famous city in the Southern hemisphere.

Oh wait.

Arent there VGCs in Canada?
Well there arent any here anyway which is a really big shame, since theres like 16 in the US, 4 in Canada, yet none in Australia.
(If these stats are wrong correct me please)

Thats a long swear word, I wonder what it says, anyway these guys surely dont know how to make a tournament, they havent even shown any rules, but hey some people are saying some rules will be smogon standard

Lol, I just moved back to Victoria from Perth xD, this is like 30 minutes away from where I live. I probably wont go to it though.

Why is there never any warning of things. I don't even have a team on my games because I can't get WiFi. We should just independantly all gather. Have a TD that isn't going to play. They hack legal pokes for everyone and then we battle have fun then all go out for drinks after like the American smogonites do.

But in Sydney.

In the city.

With me invitied.

GOOD IDEA? (Y/Y)

And everyone chips in a few dollars each to fly BK over because he is an Australian living legend. Let Pana make his own way down from qld.

Yeah, its either Gametraders are being a bunch of idiots who arent posting up the rules, or pokemonaus.com who wont post the rules. If anybody perhaps contacted them when they enter the tournament please tell me the rules. Anyway I will merge this thread with another topic also in Australia, the Victini event and great deals for Pokemon Black and White
