Archaludon is a terrific tank thanks to its amazing bulk bolstered by Stamina, a stellar defensive typing that lets it check prominent threats like Meowscarada, Serperior, and Rillaboom, and a massive Special Attack stat paired with monstrous offensive coverage that covers a vast majority of the metagame. When equipped with an Assault Vest, Archaludon's ability to check the likes of Gholdengo, Tornadus-T, and offensive Deoxys-S is further bolstered, bringing as much utility as it does offensive prowess. Additionally, Archaludon's offensive typing brings it two effective STABs; Draco Meteor and Flash Cannon have solid synergy, with the former being a solid means of neutral damage on the majority of the metagame and the latter hitting the Fairy-types that would otherwise block the former like Iron Valiant and Enamorus. Body Press is a natural consideration due to its ability to hit Steel-types like Heatran and Kingambit as well as great synergy with Stamina, forcing out the likes of Hisuian Samurott, Weavile, and Meowscarada upon switching in. Additionally, after a single Stamina boost, Archaludon is able to deal great damage to neutral targets such as Ogerpon-W and opposing Archaludon. Electro Shot is a potent offensive tool that provides Archaludon means of strengthening its other moves. After the Special Attack boost, Archaludon's Draco Meteor becomes an absolutely horrifying button that can overwhelm even special walls like Galarian Slowking and Toxapex. 52 Speed ensures that Archaludon can outspeed Kingambit and potentially OHKO it with a +1 Body Press if it switches into an attack. Tera Fairy removes Archaludon's weaknesses to Fighting and Ground, letting it take on the likes of Great Tusk, Gliscor, and Zamazenta more effectively.
