Washed-Up Battle
B5P3 Singles
Level: Challenger's Choice
Backpack Size: 10
Substitution Count: Default (depends on level)
Arena: Poke Mart Parking Lot at 4 AM
It's no secret that you and your Pokemon haven't been on good terms for a while. Your latest blunder in the League Circuit leaves them feeling down, which you haven't even noticed because you were too busy beating yourself up about it. This has all come to a head on a particularly bad night, where you venture out during the witching hour, half-conscious, to buy some Guzzlord energy drinks and spot a rival Trainer in the parking lot with Pokemon just as miserable as yours. You both know what has to happen here.
Camouflage: Poison | Nature Power: Fissure | Secret Power: The defender gains Truant as an additional ability until they leave play.
- At the start of the battle, the ref rolls a d7. If the result is 1, the players swap teams, but not backpacks. If the result is 2, the players swap backpacks, but not teams. If the result is 3, the players swap both teams and backpacks.
- Pokemon know the moves Magic Room, Wonder Room, and Trick Room.
- Magic Room lasts for two rounds.
- If the current number of field conditions in play is odd, then Pokemon in play have a custom status named "Disobedient", with the following effect:
- If the user's substitution would be checked, the Trigger Component is inverted.
- (That is, a substitution that would activate, instead does not activate, and vice versa.)
- If the user has second order, then their substitutions are ignored (i.e. they have 0 substitutions). Furthermore, when they receive this status, and at the start of the round, their orders for steps in which no Pokemon have yet acted are shuffled.
- (Metagross is ordered to use Meteor Mash ~ Zen Headbutt ~ Rock Slide. The opposing Tornadus uses Magic Room on S1, making both Pokemon Disobedient. Metagross will execute Meteor Mash without issue, but Zen Headbutt and Rock Slide will be shuffled. In future second-order rounds, all three of Metagross's orders will be shuffled. If Metagross loses Disobedient, their orders remain as-is and don't get un-shuffled.)
- "Oh, but I'm sure I get many substitution tools to help deal with this!" Yeah, you get "If false, then X". Have fun.
