[OVERVIEW]
Gliscor is a viable Defog user on bulky offense, balance, and stall teams, providing fantastic utility to each archetype. Its amazing defensive typing and bulk allow it to reliably switch into common Pokemon such as defensive Landorus-T, Toxapex, and Heatran, and its naturally high base 95 Speed is incredibly beneficial for a utility Pokemon. Its ability, Poison Heal, heals 1/8 of Gliscor's HP every turn and prevents affliction from other status effects once Toxic Orb is activated. However, the necessity to run Earthquake, Defog, and Roost heavily restricts Gliscor's movepool and makes it rather predictable. Landorus-T also gives it competition for a team spot, as it provides better role compression and superior offensive presence, and it has access to Defog as well. Gliscor's Ground typing also means that it is threatened by a lot of common metagame threats, such as Greninja, Keldeo, and Kyurem-B.

Moves
========
Earthquake is a strong, reliable STAB attack that allows Gliscor to hit grounded foes and do considerable damage to the likes of Heatran, Magearna, Toxapex, and Tyranitar. Defog is used to remove entry hazards from the field and pairs nicely with Gliscor's defensive typing. Roost provides Gliscor with a reliable form of recovery, allowing it to stay healthy throughout the match and have more chances to utilize Defog. Knock Off allows Gliscor to hit Pokemon that are immune to Earthquake, such as Celesteela, Mantine, and Landorus-T. It also provides utility by removing opposing items. Taunt can be used over Knock Off to shut down defensive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Celesteela, Chansey, and Clefable, making them easier to wall. Toxic can also be used if Knock Off and Taunt are not necessary, as it can nail common switch-ins to Gliscor such as Tapu Bulu, Keldeo, Latios, and Mew. However, this leaves Gliscor completely walled by Steel-types that are not weak to Earthquake.

244 HP EVs increase Gliscor's general bulk and maximize the amount of HP recovered from Poison Heal. A Jolly nature with 112 Speed EVs ensures that Gliscor outruns Timid maximum Speed Heatran. 152 Special Defense EVs enable Gliscor to avoid the 2HKO from Landorus-T's Hidden Power Ice and make Gliscor as specially bulky as possible. Toxic Orb ensures that Gliscor gets poisoned, helping it recover HP every turn with Poison Heal, and allows it to avoid other status effects. An alternative spread of 244 HP / 112 SpD / 152 Spe can be used if outrunning the likes of Gyarados and Adamant Zygarde is crucial for the team, but keep in mind that this cuts down Gliscor's defensive presence. A physically defensive spread of 244 HP / 152 Def / 112 Spe can be used to better check physical attackers such as Mega Mawile, Choice Band Tyranitar, and Choice Band Zygarde. However, this set is generally inferior due to how common Heatran, Tapu Koko, and Magearna all are.
Usage Tips
========
Avoid bringing in Gliscor into a possible Knock Off, Scald, or Will-O-Wisp at all costs before Toxic Orb has been activated, as it risks neutering the effects of Poison Heal. Try to remove items as early as possible with Knock Off, as this makes handling Pokemon for both Gliscor and the rest of the team easier. Once poisoned, Gliscor can easily wall hazard setters such as Toxapex, defensive Landorus-T, and Heatran. Don't hesitate to bring it in versus these Pokemon, as Gliscor can force them out and use this as a free opportunity to remove entry hazards or opposing Pokemon's items.
Team Options
========
Gliscor struggles immensely against Grass-types, so it is useful to pair it with Pokemon that patch up this weakness. Celesteela, Ferrothorn, Heatran, and Assault Vest Magearna can all switch into Pokemon that force Gliscor out. Water- and Ice-types can easily take advantage of Gliscor’s typing; Greninja can force Gliscor to Defog entry hazards away and pressure it with strong STAB attacks, while Weavile and Kyurem-B both have 4x super effective attacks that can easily OHKO Gliscor. It is therefore useful to have a Water-type that can switch into these Pokemon, such as Toxapex, Rotom-W, or Suicune. Toxapex deserves a special mention, as it has perfect defensive synergy with Gliscor and can set up Toxic Spikes to wear down defensive Pokemon as well as bait in Pokemon that Gliscor can usually beat. Mega Evolutions such as Mega Venusaur and Mega Latias can heal off damage and beat Gliscor one-on-one. Thus, offensive Pokemon like Tapu Lele, Blacephalon, and Kyurem-B that can muscle through them and fit on bulky offense archetypes make for good partners. Pokemon that appreciate entry hazards off the field benefit from Gliscor’s ability to Defog. Mega Pinsir, Volcarona, and Charizard are all 4x weak to Stealth Rock and threaten defensive Grass- and Steel-types that wall Gliscor.

Moves
========
Earthquake is Gliscor's most reliable STAB move, hitting common Pokemon such as Toxapex, Heatran, Tyranitar, and Magearna for a significant amount of damage. Knock Off is used to cripple switch-ins that are immune to Earthquake like Landorus-T, Celesteela, and Zapdos. Roost gives Gliscor a reliable form of HP recovery alongside Poison Heal and also helps in taking Hidden Power Ice from the likes of Landorus-T more easily. The last move, which can be either Taunt or Swords Dance, transforms Gliscor into an effective stallbreaker. Taunt allows Gliscor to completely shut down defensive Pokemon such as Clefable, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor and beat them one-on-one, while Swords Dance boosts Gliscor's Attack by two stages and allows it to break through the aforementioned Pokemon more easily.
Set Details
========
244 HP EVs increase Gliscor's general bulk and maximize the amount of HP recovered from Poison Heal. 152 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allow Gliscor to outspeed Adamant Zygarde and both formes of Gyarados. If this benchmark is not necessary, 112 Speed EVs should be used to outspeed Timid Heatran and Jolly Hoopa-U instead. 44 Defense EVs allow Gliscor to survive a Play Rough followed by a Sucker Punch from Mega Mawile. The rest of the EVs are poured into Special Defense to allow Gliscor to be as specially bulky as possible and handle the likes of Latios, Landorus-T, and Tapu Koko more easily.
Usage Tips
========
Avoid bringing Gliscor into any possible status move or Knock Off before its Toxic Orb activates. Take advantage of passive Pokemon that cannot do much to Gliscor, such as Clefable and Ferrothorn, as this can provide opportunities for Gliscor to set up. Knock Off should be spammed early-game to remove as many items as possible. This gives Gliscor an easier time to potentially set up late-game and also supports its teammates.
Team Options
========
Gliscor is efficient at breaking down bulkier archetypes thanks to Taunt or Swords Dance. As such, it should be paired with Pokemon that struggle with these, such as Mega Lopunny, Volcarona, and Mega Scizor. Offensive Water- and Ice- types stop Gliscor dead cold, so Pokemon such as Toxapex, Keldeo, Ferrothorn, and Assault Vest Magearna that can handle these make for good partners. Gliscor struggles to break through defensive Flying-types like Zapdos with Hidden Power Ice, Celesteela, and Skarmory due to their defensive typing. Magnezone can trap and remove both Celesteela and Skarmory, while strong attackers like Tyranitar and Kyurem-B can switch into and weaken Zapdos. Water-types such as Toxapex, Keldeo, and Mantine have amazing synergy with Gliscor; Toxapex also provides Toxic Spikes support to soften defensive threats, Keldeo can break Pokemon that Gliscor struggles with due to its Calm Mind + Taunt set, and Mantine has perfect defensive synergy with Gliscor.

Other Options
=============
Ice Fang can be used over Knock Off or Taunt if Ground-types such as Landorus-T, Zygarde, and Garchomp are an immediate threat to the team, but it is generally an inferior option outside of this. Acrobatics is an alternative coverage move to hit Grass- and Flying-types like Tapu Bulu, Mega Venusaur, Tangrowth, and Hawlucha that like switching in versus Gliscor. It is also helpful on the off chance that Gliscor loses its Toxic Orb to Knock Off after activation. Stealth Rock can be used on Gliscor, but it is generally inferior to Landorus-T in fulfilling this role. U-turn can be used on offensive teams that appreciate Gliscor's ability to Defog and allow it to serve as a pivot. Lastly, Protect pairs nicely with Poison Heal and can be used for scouting; however, it does not fit on most sets due to the superior utility of its other moves.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Grass-types:** Grass-types such as Mega Venusaur, Tapu Bulu, and Ferrothorn are all able to switch into Gliscor and exploit its passivity. If Gliscor foregoes Taunt, Ferrothorn and Mega Venusaur are able to fire off a Leech Seed and whittle Gliscor down. Tapu Bulu with a Z-Crystal can freely switch in, set up a Swords Dance, and recover any damage with the combination of Horn Leech and Grassy Terrain.
**Ice-types and Ice Coverage:** Strong Ice-types such as Kyurem-B and Weavile are able to OHKO Gliscor due to its 4x weakness to their STAB moves. Gliscor should be cautious of switching into Tapu Koko, Magearna, and Medicham, as they can all pack Ice-type coverage to deal a significant amount of damage.
**Offensive Water-types:** Offensive Water-types such as Greninja, Keldeo, and Gyarados can all threaten Gliscor with their powerful STAB moves and potentially use it as setup fodder. Defensive Water-types such as Mantine and Rotom-W can attempt to PP stall Gliscor; however, they should be wary of getting their item removed or getting afflicted by Taunt.
**Pokemon immune to Earthquake:** Defensive Flying-types such as Celesteela and Zapdos are immune to Earthquake, but they do not appreciate their item being removed. Mega Latias and Mega Latios can both wall any set without Toxic and set up Calm Minds or OHKO Gliscor with Ice Beam.
