[OVERVIEW]
With its excellent bulk with Eviolite, great defensive typing, and reliable recovery, Golbat finds its place on teams that require checks to offensive Pokemon like Sceptile and Passimian. Additionally, the utility that Defog offers gives it a place on teams that require entry hazard control. Golbat possesses a great Speed tier, allowing it to outspeed and deal with threats like Decidueye and Medicham while getting chip damage off against Pokemon like Vanilluxe. Utility options in Super Fang, Toxic, and Taunt offer Golbat a wide range of stallbreaking options against Pokemon like Vaporeon, Mega Audino, and Silvally-Steel. However, Golbat's weakness to Stealth Rock leaves it susceptible to being pressured and forced to Roost frequently, which also makes it less effective as a hazard remover. Golbat's heavy reliance on Eviolite leaves it vulnerable to being exploited by Pokemon it used to be able to check, like Sceptile and Fighting-types, when it has been hit by Knock Off. Golbat's passive nature leaves it prone to being pivoted on and taken advantage of by Pokemon like Steelix, Klinklang, and Rotom.

Moves
========

Brave Bird is Golbat's STAB move that hits Grass- and Fighting-type Pokemon like Decidueye and Medicham for super effective damage. Toxic allows Golbat to deal with threats like Bulk Up Braviary and Comfey while consistently chipping away at Pokemon that are not immune to it. Thanks to Infiltrator, Golbat can bypass the Substitutes of the likes of Braviary and Vivillon and deal with them with Toxic and Brave Bird, respectively. Defog is Golbat's main form of utility, clearing entry hazards for its team and preventing unnecessary residual damage. Taunt inhibits the hazard setting capabilities of Pokemon like Steelix, Garbodor, and Druddigon while stopping Pokemon like Mega Audino and Vaporeon from using Wish and Heal Bell. Super Fang is an option to reliably break down Pokemon like Rhydon and Steelix on the switch, crippling the former due to its lack of recovery and dealing meaningful damage to the latter. Roost is Golbat's recovery move, providing longevity against Pokemon like Sceptile and Whimsicott while also removing Golbat's Flying typing, allowing it to stay in on Pokemon like Diancie.

Set Details
=========

176 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature allow Golbat to outspeed positive-natured base 80 Speed Pokemon like Medicham and Gallade as well as slower Pokemon like Decidueye and Vanilluxe. 252 HP and 80 SpD EVs in conjunction with Eviolite give Golbat the ability to switch into the STAB moves of Pokemon like Sceptile and Whimsicott with ease while still reliably checking Pokemon like Passimian. Infiltrator allows Golbat to bypass Substitutes and deal with threats like Bulk Up Braviary with Toxic and Vivillon with Brave Bird.

Usage Tips
========

Golbat's bulk allows it to directly switch into the STAB moves of a plethora of attackers. For example, it can switch into Pokemon like Sceptile and Passimian and 2HKO if not OHKO these Pokemon with Brave Bird, and it can be used as a switch-in to Dhelmise, though it has to be wary of a Choice Band-boosted Anchor Shot. Golbat can also directly switch in against some Fairy-types like Comfey, but it cannot switch into Aromatisse's coverage and Choice Specs Diancie's Rock STAB attacks, as they both 2HKO Golbat, and it must be wary of Mega Audino's Knock Off. Try to avoid letting Golbat take an unnecessary Knock Off, as without Eviolite, it loses a lot of bulk and has a harder time functioning as a check to threats like Passimian and Scrafty. Stealth Rock is a large detriment to Golbat's ability to act as a defensive check, so make sure to use Golbat's ability to switch into the plethora of passive Pokemon in NU like Vileplume, Mega Audino, and Vaporeon as an opportunity to remove entry hazards with Defog. Utilize Taunt to stop Pokemon like Palossand, Torterra, Miltank, and Ferroseed from setting up hazards, and against Pokemon like Mega Audino and Vaporeon to stop them from using their utility moves. Utilize Toxic to cripple common switch-ins to Golbat like Rhydon and Heliolisk and against bulkier Pokemon that do not function well when badly poisoned, like Palossand and Seismitoad.

Team Options
========

Golbat is best used on stall and bulkier teams where a wide range of offensive threats that can threaten Golbat are covered. Psychic-types like defensive Delphox, Slowking, and Xatu can cover Golbat's Psychic-type weakness and, in the case of Xatu, assist with keeping Stealth Rock off the field. Bulky Water-types like Slowbro, Vaporeon, Seismitoad, and Pyukumuku synergize well with Golbat defensively, as they are able to handle Pokemon that switch into Golbat like Steelix, Rhydon, and Klinklang, and in return, (don't forget to deformat the commas here) Golbat can beat the Grass-types that plague them. Ground-types like Palossand, Steelix, and Torterra make for great partners, as they are able to provide an Electric immunity and support the team with Stealth Rock. Clerics like Vaporeon, Articuno, and Mega Audino can remove debilitating status conditions like paralysis and burn with Heal Bell and help preserve Golbat's Roost PP and switch it in more safely with Wish.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=========

Poison Fang is an option over Toxic that allows Golbat to badly poison Xatu, which benefits Stealth Rock users like Steelix and Torterra that need help breaking it; however, Toxic is more generally useful against most teams. An alternative EV spread of 248 HP / 12 Def / 248 Spe is an option on some stall teams which allows Golbat to outspeed threats like Magmortar and Vivillon, though this set is less bulky and limits Golbat's ability to switch into Specs Whimsicott's Psychic. Curse can be used to make Golbat a wincon, though this set generally falls short because it loses the utility of Defog. U-turn can be used to give the Golbat user momentum, but this lacks the overall utility of Defog and Taunt.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Rock- and Steel-type Pokemon** Rhydon and Aerodactyl take negligible damage from Brave Bird and put immense pressure on Golbat with their STAB moves and setup options. Steelix, Klinklang, and Silvally-Steel are immune to Toxic, take almost no damage from Brave Bird, and can take advantage of the switches they force against Golbat by setting up Curse or Gear Grind in the case of Steelix and Klinklang or by utilizing Parting Shot in the case of Silvally-Steel.

**Stealth Rock** Stealth Rock inhibits Golbat's ability to reliably switch in and check Pokemon like Sceptile and remove hazards due to the 25% HP loss it suffers from every time it comes in.

**Electric-type Pokemon** Heliolisk, Rotom, and Vikavolt can take advantage of Golbat's passive playstyle and use their strong Electric STAB moves to deal massive damage against it or employ Volt Switch to gain momentum.

**Knock Off** Golbat is able to switch into Pokemon like Dhelmise and Passimian, though these Pokemon can remove Golbat's Eviolite with Knock Off and can hamper its defensive capabilities. Without Eviolite, Golbat cannot check Pokemon like Vivillon and the aforementioned Dhelmise as well.

QC check 1/3 inside! One of the things I'd be careful of moving forward is your tendancy to repeat certain mons this beats. You list both Sceptile and Whims as well as Medicham and Decidueye a lot in this. Add a little variety! (and yes this is a part of the check so fix that)

Toxic allows Golbat to deal with threats like Bulk Up Braviary and Comfey while consistently chipping away at Pokemon that are not immune to it.
Explain why Toxic works on BU Brav. You haven't touched on infiltrator at all so this would be a good time to explain it.

Golbat's passive nature leaves it prone to being switched in on by Pokemon like Heliolisk, Diancie, and Vanilluxe
Helio, Vanilluxe, and Diancie are average to poor switch ins. Diancie loses 1v1 and hates toxic, Vanilluxe hates taking BB damage, and Heliolisk is pretty average. I'd list things like Steelix or Klinklang are better examples. Rotoms pretty nice too!

[SET]

move 3: Defog / Taunt
move 4: Toxic

ability: Infiltrator

Change the order of these moves. It should be Brave Bird listed first, Toxic second, Defog/Taunt third, with Roost in the last slot. The evs also are an even HP value which means you're taking full rocks damage. Change the EVs to 248hp/84 Sp.d.

Golbat can be directly switched into Fairy- types like Comfey and Audino Mega, but it cannot switch into Aromatisse's coverage and Diancie's Rock STAB as they both 2HKO Golbat.
You're faster then Diancie so you can just roost to negate the super effective damage. Diancie can't afford to take a toxic so then its forced out. You only really worry about Specs Diancie.

Avoid letting Golbat take an unnecessary Knock Off as Eviolite is essential to Golbat's survivability. Switch in Pokemon that cannot have their items knocked off, like Z-users and Silvally-Steel.
I'd just drop the bit on explaining how to counter knock off. And replace survivablity to something that touches on its bulk loss from losing eviolite. You can still play a non eviolite Golbat if you get knocked off, you just have to deal with the massive bulk loss that comes with it.

You have nothing in the team options for things to switch into stuff like lix/klinklang/rhydon ect which are the most popular ways to punish Golbat. Make something for steel types as well as add something in checks and counters for Steel types as they can't be toxic'd and resist BB.

**Ice- type Pokemon** Vanilluxe is able to switch in to Golbat with minimal risk and OHKO it with Blizzard. Sneasel is able to Knock Off Golbat's Eviolite and cripple it, as well as Icicle Crash Golbat for massive damage.
0 Atk Golbat Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Vanilluxe: 123-145 (43.4 - 51.2%) -- 8.2% chance to 2HKO
Add rocks to that damage and it means Vanilluxe is basically dead. Add to that the fact Golbat out speeds and it means you're just getting 2hko'd. Sneasel also isn't a safe option vs Golbat as it'll always chew a crash from full HP and kill it with BB after rocks. I'd just remove this entire part and replace it with steel types.

Think I implemented everything that rozes wanted, removed the dark mentions from team options because they seemed sort of odd to include amongst all of the defensively oriented mons that rozes wanted me to mention, but I'd like comment on that still.

Roost is Golbat's recovery move, providing longevity against Pokemon like Sceptile and Whimsicott, while also removing Golbat's Flying- type, allowing it to stay in on pokemon like Diancie. Brave Bird is Golbat's STAB move that hits Grass- and Fighting- type Pokemon like Decidueye and Medicham for super effective damage while doing decent damage to unresisted foes with its high base power. eh the damage against neutral foes is not really important. remove imo Defog is Golbat's main form of utility, clearing hazards for its team and preventing unnecessary residual damage. Super Fang is an option that can be used to reliably break down Pokemon like Rhydon and Steelix on the switch, crippling the former due to its lack of recovery and dealing meaningful damage to the latter.

mention the moves in the order they are listed. Brave Bird -> Toxic -> Defog -> Taunt -> Roost

Set Details
=========

252 HP EVs in conjunction with 80 SpD EVs gives Golbat the ability to switch into the STAB moves of Pokemon like Sceptile and Whimsicott with ease while still reliably checking Pokemon like Passimian. 176 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature allow Golbat to outspeed positively natured base 80 Speed Pokemon like Medicham and Gallade as well as slower Pokemon like Decidueye and Vanilluxe. list the Speed EVs and their purpose first; they're the important part. then just address that the remaining EVs go towards making Golbat fatter Eviolite is the item of choice, improving Golbat's passable defensive stats and allowing it to check threats more reliably. Eviolite should be mentioned alongside the bulk EVs mention Infiltrator allows Golbat to bypass Substitutes and deal with threats like Bulk Up Braviary with Toxic and Vivillon with Brave Bird.

Usage Tips
========

Golbat's bulk through Eviolite allows it to directly switch into the STAB moves of a plethora of attackers. It can switch into Pokemon like Decidueye and Passimian and OHKO back with Brave Bird, and can be used as a switchin to Dhelmise, though it has to be wary of a Choice Banded Anchor Shot. list something other than Decidueye; +2 Sinister Arrow Raid blows Golbat back. Golbat also cannot OHKO Passimian with Brave Bird, so reword that bit. Golbat can be directly switched into Fairy- types like Comfey and Audino Mega, but it cannot switch into Aromatisse's coverage and Choice Specs Diancie's Rock STAB as they both 2HKO Golbat. Mega Audino is a weird mention, since it's not an offensive threat, and it contradicts the next point you make, as Mega Audino very commonly carries Knock Off. Try to avoid letting Golbat take an unnecessary Knock Off as without Eviolite it loses a lot of bulk and has a harder time functioning. Golbat can be used as a check to Fighting- types like Passimian, Scrafty, and Hariyama, though Golbat must be wary of Knock Off from these Pokemon. this point can be merged with the previous Stealth Rock is a large detriment to Golbat's ability to check things, so make sure to use Golbat's ability to switch into the plethora of passive Pokemon in NU such as as Vileplume, Mega Audino, Vaporeon, Quagsire, and Blastoise too many examples imo and remove hazards with Defog as these Pokemon cannot do much damage to you. Utilize Taunt to stop Pokemon like Palossand, Torterra, Druddigon, Garbodor, Miltank, and Ferroseed too many examples imo from setting up hazards, and against Pokemon like Mega Audino and Vaporeon to stop them from using Wish. could just expand the Wish mention to "utility moves"

something about using Toxic to punish Pokemon like Rhydon and Heliolisk for switching into Golbat and in general being useful against fat Pokemon. something about when to use Roost too would be ideal

Team Options
========

Golbat is best used on Stall and bulkier teams where a wide range of offensive threats that can threaten Golbat are covered. Psychic- types like defensive Delphox, Slowbro, Slowking, and Xatu can cover Golbat's Psychic- type weakness and, in the case of Xatu, assist with keeping Stealth Rock off the field. remove Slowbro from this list since you mention it in the next Bulky Water- types like Slowbro and Vaporeon synergize well with Golbat defensively as they are able to handle Pokemon that switch into Golbat like Steelix, Rhydon, and Klinklang. add Pyukumuku to list of Water-types Ground- types like Rhydon, Steelix, and Torterra make for great partners as they are able to provide an Electric immunity and support the team with Stealth Rock. replace Rhydon with Palossand Additionally, Pokemon like Mega Audino, Hariyama and Incineroar are able to take the Knock Offs that Golbat fears and let it function more freely. remove the "additionally"; this point has nothing to do with the previous

this needs to some addressing of Pokemon that appreciate what Golbat can do for them. for example, the fat Water-types you mentioned appreciate Golbat checking Grass-types for them. fit in any more mentions that you can.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=========

U-turn can be used to give the Golbat user momentum, although this falls short of Defog and Taunt because it offers it's team less utility overall. make this the last OO; U-turn sucks Poison Fang is an option over Toxic that allows Golbat to badly poison Xatu, which benefits Rockers like Steelix and Torterra that need help breaking it, but Toxic is more generally useful against most teams. An alternative EV spread of 248 HP / 12 Def / 248 Spe is an option on some stall teams which allows Golbat to outspeed threats like Magmortar and Vivillon, though this set is less bulky and limits Golbat's potential in some matchups. any important damage rolls you can think of that this EV spread misses out on? Curse can be used to make Golbat a wincon, though this set generally falls short because of the utility Golbat loses when you do not run Defog.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Rock- type Pokemon** Rhydon and Aerodactyl take negligible damage from Brave Bird and put immense pressure on Golbat with their STAB moves and setup options. frankly I'd pair this section with the Steel-types one; having only 2 Pokemon in the top-most category isn't doing it for me.

**Steel- type Pokemon** Steelix, Klinklang, and Silvally-Steel are immune to Toxic and take almost no damage from Brave Bird, and can take advantage of the switches they force against Golbat. by doing what?

imo a section about Stealth Rock here would work. address how Golbat's 2x weakness to Stealth Rock inhibits its ability to reliably check Pokemon like Sceptile, Whimsicott, etc

**Electric- type Pokemon** Heliolisk, Rotom, and Vikavolt can take advantage of Golbat's passive playstyle and use their strong Electric STAB moves to deal massive damage against Golbat, or Volt Switch and gain momentum.

**Knock Off** Golbat is able to switch into Pokemon like Dhelmise and Passimian, though these Pokemon can Knock Off Golbat's Eviolite and can cripple it's defensive capabilities and reduce it's overall effectiveness. this second bit is redundant; Golbat's effectiveness is directly linked to its defensive capabilities. you could though address some Pokemon Golbat cannot check reliably without its Eviolite

Super Fang is an option that can be used to reliably break down Pokemon like Rhydon and Steelix on the switch, crippling the former due to its lack of recovery and dealing meaningful damage to the latter. Roost is Golbat's recovery move, providing longevity against Pokemon like Sceptile and Whimsicott (RC) while also removing Golbat's Flying-type Flying typing, allowing it to stay in on Pokemon like Diancie.

Set Details
=========

176 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature allow Golbat to outspeed positively positive-natured base 80 Speed Pokemon like Medicham and Gallade as well as slower Pokemon like Decidueye and Vanilluxe. 252 HP and 80 SpD EVs in conjunction with Eviolite gives give Golbat the ability to switch into the STAB moves of Pokemon like Sceptile and Whimsicott with ease while still reliably checking Pokemon like Passimian. Infiltrator allows Golbat to bypass Substitutes and deal with threats like Bulk Up Braviary with Toxic and Vivillon with Brave Bird.

Usage Tips
========

Golbat's bulk allows it to directly switch into the STAB moves of a plethora of attackers. For example, it can switch into Pokemon like Sceptile and Passimian and 2HKO if not OHKO these Pokemon with Brave Bird, and it can be used as a switchin switch-in to Dhelmise, though it has to be wary of a Choice Band-boosted Anchor Shot. Golbat can be also directly switched in against some Fairy-types like Comfey, but it cannot switch into Aromatisse's coverage and Choice Specs Diancie's Rock STAB attacks, (AC) as they both 2HKO Golbat, and it must be wary of Mega Audino's Knock Off. Utilize Toxic to cripple common switchins switch-ins to Golbat like Rhydon and Heliolisk (RC) and against bulkier Pokemon that do not function well when badly poisoned, like Palossand and Seismitoad.

Team Options
========

Other Options
=========

U-turn can be used to give the Golbat user momentum, but this falls short of lacks the value overall utility of Defog and Taunt because it offers Golbat's team less utility overall. (repetition)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Rock- and Steel-type Pokemon** Rhydon and Aerodactyl take negligible damage from Brave Bird and put immense pressure on Golbat with their STAB moves and setup options. Steelix, Klinklang, and Silvally-Steel are immune to Toxic, (AC) and take almost no damage from Brave Bird, and can take advantage of the switches they force against Golbat by setting up Curse or Gear Grind with in the case of Steelix or and Klinklang respectively, or utilize by utilizing Parting Shot in the case of Silvally-Steel.

**Stealth Rock** Stealth Rock inhibits Golbat's ability to reliably switch in and check Pokemon like Sceptile and remove hazards due to the 25% HP loss it suffers from every time it comes in.

**Electric-type Pokemon** Heliolisk, Rotom, and Vikavolt can take advantage of Golbat's passive playstyle and use their strong Electric STAB moves to deal massive damage against Golbat, it or employ Volt Switch to gain momentum.

**Knock Off** Golbat is able to switch into Pokemon like Dhelmise and Passimian, though these Pokemon can Knock Off remove Golbat's Eviolite with Knock Off and can cripple hamper its defensive capabilities. Without Eviolite, Golbat cannot check Pokemon like Vivillon and the aforementioned Dhelmise as well.
