[OVERVIEW]
Grubbin's awful stats and Bug typing mean it faces stiff competition from Larvesta, which has access to U-turn and reliable recovery in Morning Sun. Furthermore, Grubbin cannot capitalize on its resistances, as Ground- and Grass-types like Mudbray, Snivy, and Foongus commonly run Rock Slide and Hidden Power Fire as coverage, while Grubbin cannot do much back to Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Croagunk, giving them free setup opportunities.

[SET]
name: Electroweb Pivot
move 1: Electroweb
move 2: Volt Switch
move 3: X-Scissor
move 4: Acrobatics
item: Eviolite
ability: Swarm
nature: Relaxed
evs: 140 HP / 20 Atk / 156 Def / 156 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
This set tries to capitalize on the Speed drop Electroweb provides to support Grubbin's teammates. However, Grubbin fails to make use of Electroweb because of its terrible stats and support movepool. One can more efficiently provide an entire team with similar Speed control via Sticky Web users such as Dewpider. Better switch-ins to Ground-, Fighting-, and Grass-types also plentifully exist, such as Vullaby, Spritzee, and Foongus.

i definitely think bj+acro has some merit. allowing it to switch into and 2hko every fighter is a pretty cool feat which makes it a slightly less worse mon and also it hits pump which is a decently relevant crunch target (theres not much crunch hits that could switch into grubbin otherwise in the first place either) i havent run evio calcs but its an option that could be slashed even if it does lose out on some important calcs cause fighters could just knock evio anyways. bj just makes it easier to power acrobatics up.

it's gotta be
name: Electroweb Pivot
move 1: Electroweb
move 2: Volt Switch
move 3: X-Scissor
move 4: Acrobatics
item: Eviolite
ability: Swarm
nature: Relaxed
evs: 140 HP / 20 Atk / 156 Def / 156 SpD

evs are a little wack since you end up with like 100 EVs that don't impact much. the slight extra SpD is more helpful. everything else is fine so

[OVERVIEW]
  • Say "Grubbin's poor stats" or something similar in the first sentence, it is pretty ambiguous as is
  • The U-turn point makes no sense, as it implies that Larvesta's Bug typing gives it an advantage over Grubbin. Maybe change this to talk about "access to U-turn"
[SET COMMENTS]
  • I don't feel like its entirely correct to say that a Sticky Web user performs the same role as an Electroweb user. Change the second sentence to say something like "However, Grubbin fails to make use of Electroweb because of X, and speed control is done more efficiently by Sticky Web users such as Dewpider"
