whats the context of this
the person in the picture (glenn maxwell) just pulled off arguably the greatest chase in all of one-day cricket, carrying his team from 90/7 to 293/7. Many records were broken, like the highest 8th wicket partnership, highest score while chasing in a worldcup, highest score by an australian batsman and some more that im probably missing. What makes this innings truly special is that he pulled a cramp in his lower back and was basically playing on one leg for the last 80 or so balls. You truly had to be there to experience it.

An analogy that can help you comprehend what unfolded - imagine the 8th seed swept the 1st seed in the NBA, with a differential of +30 every game. Yeah, equally unprobable id say

Isn't Australia one of like three countries that gives a shit about cricket? Australia beating Afghanistan at cricket seems about as impressive as the US winning a basketball game over Sealand

Well unlike sealand, afghans are good at cricket, so its not like us winning against sealand, yes australia is a better team than afghanistan but its not that one sided. And what makes this game memorbale is how much maxwell fought to win the game even after getting injured.
over under on how hype this is compared to the minneapolis miracle?
thanks :]
A lot more than that easily

The situation you are describing is more like American "football" than cricket, and I say that as someone who doesn't give a shit about cricket
