move 3: U-turn / Parting Shot
move 4: Will-O-Wisp
item: Figy Berry / Sitrus Berry
ability: Intimidate
nature: Careful / Impish
evs: 244 HP / 92 Def / 172 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

* Incineroar's strong mixed bulk coupled with Intimidate and Will-O-Wisp allows it to serve as a deterrent to physical attackers while helping its team gain momentum through the use of U-turn or Parting Shot.

* Flare Blitz deals maximum physical damage, and helps activate its held berry through recoil chip.

* Flamethrower can be substituted to avoid recoil damage while still dealing respectable damage when hitting super effectively.

* Darkest Lariat, Incineroar's typical Dark STAB move, allows it to hit strongly without recoil, and ignoring defense boosts from opposing Pokemon.

* Throat Chop can alternatively be used to neuter Pokemon that rely on sound-based moves to beat it, such as Sylveon, Lapras, and Primarina.

* U-turn is used to retain momentum against bad matchups while also breaking Focus Sash and Mimikyu's Disguise.

* Parting Shot can be used in place of U-turn or even situationally alongside U-turn in order to help incoming teammates gain the upper hand against a stat-reduced foe.

* Figy Berry is not difficult to activate on Incineroar due to its bulk and Flare Blitz recoil, but Sitrus Berry gives comparable healing ability and is even easier to activate.

EV Spreads
==============

* 244 HP / 92 Def / 172 SpD with a Careful nature: This spread relies on Incineroar's Intimidate to deter physical attackers while using EV investment to outlast special attackers. Defense investment is used to take a +1 Jolly Life Orb Max Starfall from Mimikyu.

* 244 HP / 76 Def / 188 SpD with a Careful nature: This has slightly more Special Defense investment to survive a +2 Max Airstream from Togekiss.

* 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD with an Impish Nature: This is an alternative physically defensive specialist spread.

* 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD / 0 IV Spe with a Relaxed Nature: A slow spread in order to absorb physical attacks for its teammates. This can also be used with Flamethrower over Flare Blitz and also often runs dual pivoting moves.

General Team Options
===============

Pair Incineroar with other bulky Pokemon in balanced builds. It particularly likes bulky Water- and Grass-type teammates to cover its weaknesses, as well as being effective to switch into with its pivoting moves. Incineroar can also help neuter opposing Pokemon with Intimidate, Will-O-Wisp, and Parting Shot for setup sweepers to take advantage of.

Still think Incineroar is not great but as long as it continues to put in relevant usage we may as well address it. I don't think I'd recommend running both Parting Shot and U-turn though, I see the merit in it but don't think it's worth using a moveslot to have both pivoting options. I feel like the second STAB provides more utility in most cases.

I'm also not sold on recommending the WP set to people, anything with decent bulk can pull of WP stuff but is Incineroar notable enough of a user? At the very least, I don't know if it's worth Airstreaming with something as slow as this.

Also, is there a particular benchmark the primary EV spread is used for? I know it mentions relying on Intimidate but is it just a general mixed bulk spread? If there's something specific I'd mention what that's for.

Otherwise this is good for something as awkward as Incineroar, QC 1/2

1. I can remove the WP mention. I wouldnt say its a recommendation (hence not having its own set), more of an other options set that actually has seen some limited success.
2. In terms of second STAB vs second pivot move, I read several blogs saying they've been underwhelmed by second STAB and prefer to have the option to do chip or stat drop depending on the situation. I can change the language to help make less recommending sounding, but it is used at top level.
3. EVs are to survive mimikyu +1 Max Starfall physically, rest in SpD. Ill add the description.

which Pokemon? (Guessing Snorlax)

EVs:
You can drop Defense to 76 to live the Mimikyu Starfall, which also lets you invest in enough SpD to live +2 Airstream (or 2 unboosted Airstreams) from Togekiss. Particularly relevant for Parting Shot sets.

Partners: "Bulky Water-types"
Incineroar likes partners that can do damage (and less things like Gastro / Milo) you are already lacking damage with Incineroar so if your water lacks damage thats a really good way to lose when your only damage dealer gets caught by a wrong Dynamax turn or any tech or there's an awkward pin. Toxapex can stand because Toxic does damage.
