Incineroar's typing, solid movepool, and access to Intimidate allow it to carve a niche for itself in RU as a pivot that can check the likes of Chandelure, Zarude, Necrozma, and Darmanitan; however, its lack of reliable recovery alongside its average bulk leaves it somewhat easy to wear down. Overheat hits physically defensive Pokemon like Cobalion and Steelix much harder than Flare Blitz and doesn't chip Incineroar. Toxic puts checks to Incineroar like Seismitoad, Togekiss lacking Heal Bell, and Milotic on a timer. Will-O-Wisp cripples Tyrantrum, Rhyperior, Stakataka, and any other physical attacker that switches into it. Parting Shot generates momentum and weakens the foe to more safely bring in fragile attackers like Thundurus, Zygarde-10%, and Heracross. U-turn can be used on teams that prefer chipping away at Incineroar's checks, such as Milotic and Seismitoad, in tandem with Toxic. 48 Special Attack EVs ensure Overheat always OHKOes Cobalion, while the Speed allows Incineroar to outpace uninvested Sylveon and Galarian Weezing. An alternative spread of 252 HP / 72 Def / 48 SpA / 136 Spe with a Serious nature allows it to outpace Adamant Alolan Marowak and remove its Thick Club with Knock Off at the expense of some bulk.

Zarude and Celebi partner well with Incineroar, as they're able to check Suicune and Zygarde-10%. Golisopod checks Zygarde-10% and threatens Fighting-types like Mienshao and Cobalion. Other checks to these Fighting-types include Noivern, Crobat, and Talonflame. Incineroar also appreciates checks to Togekiss, which can tank all its moves and use Heal Bell to rid itself of poisoning from Toxic. Thundurus, Toxitricity, and Raikou are effective in this role while also threatening Suicune and forming a pivot core with Incineroar. Finally, Incineroar pairs nicely with fragile wallbreakers, like the aforementioned Toxitricity and Thundurus, as well as others like Heracross, Zygarde-10%, and Gardevoir. Swords Dance Cobalion, Metagross, and Barbaracle also make for good partners, as they appreciate Incineroar wearing down bulky Water-types with U-turn and Knock Off.

Incineroar's typing, solid movepool, and access to Intimidate carve a niche for it in RU as a pivot that can check the likes of Chandelure, Zarude, Necrozma, and Darmanitan; however, its lack of reliable recovery alongside its average bulk leaves it somewhat easy to wear down. Incineroar's Knock Off hits quite hard even without Attack investment, and is its most spammable move. should be spammed with impunity. Overheat is used for a Fire-type STAB that hits physically defensive Pokemon like Cobalion and Steelix much harder than Flare Blitz without chipping Incineroar. Toxic puts checks to Incineroar like Seismitoad, Togekiss lacking Heal Bell, and Milotic on a timer. Will-O-Wisp can also be used to cripple Tyrantrum, Rhyperior, Stakataka, and any other physical attacker that switches into it. Parting Shot generates momentum and weakens the opponent to more safely bring in fragile attackers like Thundurus, Zygarde-10%, and Heracross. U-turn can be used on teams that prefer chipping away at Incineroar's checks in tandem with Toxic, such as x and x.

The EVs help Incineroar check Darmanitan, Zarude, and Alolan Marowak while also ensuring it is specially bulky enough to avoid a 2HKO from Choice Specs Chandelure's Fire Blast. Incineroar can run 136 Speed EVs to ensure that it always outspeeds Adamant Alolan Marowak, Rhyperior, and Golisopod. A spread with 48 Special Attack EVs and a Relaxed nature ensures that Incineroar's Overheat always OHKOes Cobalion and almost always 2HKOes Steelix, neither of which can OHKO in return after Intimidate. If both of these benchmarks are to be used together, the spread should be 252 HP / 72 Def / 48 SpA / 136 Spe with a Serious nature. ok, this section needs a rework. mention what the main spread does, you don't need to explain stuff like max hp and a dump in defense. mention your cursed serious spread separately at the end.

Incineroar has a number of checks that should be accounted for by teammates. Zarude and Celebi partner well with Incineroar as they're able to check Suicune and Zygarde-10%. Golisopod checks Zygarde-10% as well as threatening Fighting types like Mienshao and Cobalion. Other checks to these Fighting-types include Noivern, Crobat, and Talonflame. Incineroar also appreciates checks to Togekiss, which can tank all its moves and can use Heal Bell to rid itself of poisoning from Toxic. Thundurus, Toxitricity, and Raikou are effective in this role, while also threatening Suicune and forming a VoltTurn core with Incineroar. Finally, Incineroar pairs nicely with fragile wallbreakers like the aforementioned Toxitricity and Thundurus, as well as others like Heracross, Zygarde-10%, and Gardevoir. mention stuff that likes waters chipped especially on uturn variants, you're usually doing quite a bit with knock + tox + uturn and u can eventually overwhelm with good hazard setters.
