The combination of the highest speed stat in the game, deep and expansive ultility options, and decent defensives allowing it to set up multiple layers of entry hazards makes Deoxys-S one of the best leads in OU. Taunt can stop other leads like Glimmora and Landorus-T from setting up entry hazards as well as Pokemon like Kingambit and Gliscor attempting to set up on Deoxys-S. Psycho Boost allows Deoxys-S to use a one-time nuclear option, targetting Pokemon like Great Tusk and Zamazenta-Hero, although Skill Swap can be used instead, allowing it to set up hazards against Hatterene. Focus Sash is generally prefered to guarantee at least a layer of entry hazards, although Mental Herb can be used instead to prevent Taunt from opposing Deoxys-S. Tera Ghost allows Deoxys-S to block Rapid Spin from Pokemon like Great Tusk, although Tera Steel can be used instead if preventing hazard control is not an issue for the team. If Deoxys-S is using Psycho Boost, an EV spread of 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe should be used; otherwise, a spread of 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe is more optimal.

Deoxys-S fits exclusively on hyper-offense teams looking for a dedicated lead looking for a Pokemon who can consistenly set up entry hazards. Offensive threats like Kingambit, Gouging Fire, Roaring Moon, and Iron Boulder enjoy having Deoxys-S setting up entry hazards to wear down their checks like Zamazenta and Iron Valient. Ghost-types like Gholdengo and Dragapult who spinblock can prevent hazard control, keeping Deoxys-S's entry hazards on the field. Deoxys-S is threatened by Dark-types like Weavile, Darkai, and Kingambit who can use Deoxys-S as a free switchin and can prevent it setting up entry hazard, so Pokemon who directly threaten these Pokemon like Iron Valient and Enamorus are great partners.

Taunt can stop other leads like Glimmora and Ribombee Landorus-T (not really a lead) from setting up entry hazards (add how it also stops ace's court change here) as well as Pokemon like Kingambit and Gliscor (add any of volcarona, raging bolt, and roaring moon instead, which are otherwise more threatening in the offense mirrors) attempting to set up on Deoxys-S. Psycho Boost allows Deoxys-S to use a one-time nuclear option, targetting Pokemon like Great Tusk and Zamazenta-Hero (hits glimmora too, which is a common lead as well. also mention how threatening tusk is notable otherwise it just spins your hazard away freely), although Skill Swap can be used instead, allowing it to set up hazards against Hatterene. Focus Sash is generally prefered to guarantee at least a layer of entry hazards, although Mental Herb can be used instead to prevent Taunt and Encore from opposing Deoxys-S and Booster Energy Iron Valiant. Tera Ghost allows Deoxys-S to block Rapid Spin from Pokemon like Great Tusk (add iron treads, cause it's otherwise faster than you w booster energy + it doesnt fear psycho boost as much), although Tera Steel can be used instead if preventing hazard control is not an issue for the team (blocks glimmora's mortal spin). (mention dengo stopping defog as well) Deoxys-S is threatened by Dark-types like Weavile, Darkai, and Kingambit (mention hisuian samurott too, cause it's a lead that can bypass your taunt to set its own hazards) who can use Deoxys-S as a free switchin and can prevent it setting up entry hazard, (with what? you're faster so you still set up a layer, especially if sash) so Pokemon who directly threaten these Pokemon like Iron Valient and Enamorus (add idbp zamazenta here, which has more freedom to switch into them [unlike the fairies] and use them as setup fodder too) are great partners.
