[OVERVIEW]

The main reason to not use Raichu is the fact that it is completely outclassed by its brother, Alolan Raichu. This is due to Alolan Raichu's secondary typing that allows it to hit Pokemon like Roselia and Clefairy much harder and resist Mach Punch. While Raichu's lack of a secondary typing may seem to give it a better matchup against Sucker Punch and Pursuit users like Skuntank, its poor defensive stats lead to Raichu still taking a lot from both.

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Nasty Plot
move 2: Thunderbolt
move 3: Grass Knot
move 4: Focus Blast / Hidden Power Ice
item: Life Orb / Electrium Z
ability: Lightning Rod
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set is meant to utilize Raichu's high Speed so it can serve as a setup sweeper with Nasty Plot. However, this set is run much better by Alolan Raichu due to the latter's secondary STAB, although Raichu does possess some niches in its access to Lightning Rod and better matchup against Togedemaru.

However, this set is run much better by Alolan Raichu, with its secondary STAB, although Raichu does possess one niche in its access to Lightning Rod, which can allow it to take advantage of opposing Electric-types.
