New Dream Theater first single and opening track from the next album, complete with album artwork.

New Mastodon, DT and Trivium in one week...

Oh yeah and this will be on the next Megadeth album (not Sudden Death).

As per usual, cheesy album title, cover, song title and lyrics. But Petrucci had toned down his trademark unnecessary guitar wankery, at least in this song (then again, it's the first single and all, but still), and you can actually hear Myung playing. Overall it was pleasant on first listen tbh. And yet I had thought they would become even worse after Portnoy left. Still not getting my hopes up anywhere too high for the album, though.

i actually yawned during the intro of the new dt song. it's that boring.
new megadeth sounds.. modern. that sucks ass, just when you think he's gonna do something good for the fans, he says "oh, let's do something modern".

skeletonwitch (these dudes) are making a new album and my ears are peeing their pants waiting for it. that's it really thanks for listening
i'll stick with Destroyer 666 for my black/thrash.

in case anyone missed it, Exhumed's new album is out in a couple days but here's a stream:

http://www.metalsucks.net/2011/06/28/exclusive-full-album-stream-exhumeds-all-guts-no-glory/

it's pretty rad

so far some of the good albums i can remember off the top of my head there year have been Ulcerate's, Autopsy's, 40 Watt Sun's, etc.

been meaning to check out Bastard Priest's new one, anyone who likes this whole new wave of Swedeath bands like Repugnant, Miasmal, Tribulation, etc, should check it out, it's basically worship of Entombed's first two:

40 Watt Sun has the metal vocalist with the most beautiful voice probably. Gotta listen to Warning-

check out Watching From a Distance, but you probably already knew that.

i personally think Warning's first album is pretty average, but WFAD is amazing, and i'm not really into this kind of doom very much at all.

Pretty much seconding everything Nevermore said, though I do rather like doom metal. Watching From a Distance was the album that really broke me into the genre.

oh, i like doom metal a lot, i just prefer a different kind of doom than Warning, typically. mostly stoner/death type, since we need a new topic i'll list some of it off:

death/doom:
Mental Funeral era Autopsy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOQGe0P9cIw
Asphyx: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuojIbv2eyA
Winter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bi2REgByOqs
Disembowelment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rr4jNutSDUE
Coffins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr5rMvUCuYI

stoner doom:
Bongzilla: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USpdr3vq9_U
Sleep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo0P3PHHegI
Electric Wizard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcfbItvEHqg

i've name dropped enough to satisfy my music nerdiness, you all get the idea.

Ah I see. I personally love that classic, Candlemass-esque "Epic Doom Metal" sound. I'll edit in some links to random stuff I'm digging in various genres when I get home.

Edit: I guess classic was a bit of a misnomer. What I really meant to say was that I enjoy the powerful clean vocals of epic doom metal, which I guess draws a direct lineage to Sabbath et al, but isn't necessarily indicative of that classic sound.

out of curiousity, when you say "classic" doom, are you referring to Trouble/Pentagram/Black Sabbath or something else?

As you can see by my name, I like Amon Amarth, definitely my favorite band. Also, I like Avenged Sevenfold (haters gonna hate) and Demon Hunter. Most other metal bands I like what I hear, but just haven't gotten around to getting into it. Except deathcore, I can't stand deathcore.

I'm also a metal vocalist.

Yes, the stoner/doom type is my favourite too. Electric Wizard is simply amazing.

I admit I never listened to Warning before, to be honest.

Talk to me if any of you guys like Mekong Delta or Metal Church.
Mekong Delta are a band i really should have checked out a long time ago, but never got around to it.

i do like similar tech thrash bands though:

Blind Illusion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHQAI5VIUIc

if you like stoner/doom, do you like Cough? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lis98HzyGJ0

and here's a sample of Warning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFHL76lIo7k
