NU EV Spread Compendium

Hello everyone, and welcome to NU’s EV spread compendium. This thread is a resource designed to assist old and new players alike in choosing the optimal Effort Value spreads and natures for each Pokemon in NU.

All too often, I have seen players with a Scyther that is only able to switch into Stealth Rock once, or a Linoone Belly Drum, Sitrus Berry not activate, and faint as a result. This resource sets out to inform players as to how to avoid making these sorts of mistakes when finishing EV spreads during the teambuilding process, while simultaneously providing a forum where alternative, yet viable EV spreads and natures can be discussed.

In this thread, you may suggest EV spreads and natures for Pokemon listed B- and above (standard or otherwise). If the spread and nature you are suggesting is not standard, you must provide rationale for why these non-standard spreads are viable.

However, including additional spreads to speed creep these new EV spreads is discouraged, as speed creeping has to end at some point (for example, Fletchinder running 112 spe to outrun 104 spe Fletchinder would not be added).

Always be sure to back up your argument with damage calculations (if applicable) or the speed of the Pokemon you are attempting to check or counter.

Before re-posting standard EV spreads or creating new ones, be sure to check out these resources first:
http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue2/saving_hp2http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/magic-number-of-hp.3456308/

Both of these threads explain in which scenarios an Odd number of HP would be superior, and when an Even number would be superior.
http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/a-beginners-guide-to-stat-distribution.3503580/

Here's a nice overview written by scorpdestroyer that includes EVs, IVs, natures and how to EV, generally speaking.

http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/oras-nu-speed-tiers.3515004/

And finally, this comprehensive resource on speed tiers in NU should be your new best friend when creating new EV spreads.

THIS THREAD IS FOR SHARING AND EXPLAINING YOUR CUSTOM EV SPREADS, IF I BELIEVE YOUR SPREAD HAS A GOOD NICHE FOR THAT POKEMON IN PARTICULAR, IT WILL BE ADDED.

Offensive

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Maximum Speed investment with a Jolly nature is used to fully utilize Archeops' amazing Speed tier in NU, which allows it to out speed the likes of Liepard, Pyroar, Mismagius and Zangoose. Maximum Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible.

Suicide Lead

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Maximum Attack investment is used to maximize damage from Head Smash if it needs to be used, while maximum Speed is used in order to outspeed and Taunt every other entry hazard lead in NU, preventing them from doing their job.

Bulky

248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Maximum HP investment allows Archeops to switch into Swellow, Flareon, Zangoose without its Toxic Orb activated and other Fire-types in the tier and threaten them out with Acrobatics. Maximum Speed investment is used so Archeops can check all the afformentioned threats.

Life Orb Attacker

252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe Naive Nature

Tauros hits a very important Speed tier, so running any less than maximum Speed investment will cause it to drop behind Archeops, other Tauros, and even Jumpluff. Its current speed tier allows it outspeed Zangoose, Scyther, Cryogonal and Sawk. To perform well, Tauros needs as much Attack as it can get. For this set (mixed with fire blast), we opt for a SpD reducing nature so the power of said special attack isn’t hindered.

A+ Rank
Defensive Calm Mind

248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA Bold Nature

248 HP EVs minimize Stealth Rock damage while maximum Defense EVs augment Mega Audino's physical bulk, allowing it to take on a plethora of physical attackers such as Tauros and Kangaskhan. A Bold nature further bolsters its bulk.

Offensive Calm Mind

172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe Modest Nature

252 Special Attack EVs and a Modest nature maximize Mega Audino's damage output. 84 Speed EVs are used to outspeed up to uninvested base 60 Speed Pokemon, which includes Weezing, Sliggoo, Gourgeist-XL, and Vileplume, while the rest are placed into HP to further increase Mega Audino's bulk.

Specially Defensive

252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD Calm Nature (if Special Attacks) Careful Nature (if Physical Attacks)

Maximum HP and Special Defense EVs and a Careful nature maximize Audino's bulk. Careful is used over Calm for the extra damage on Knock Off, while Calm should be used over Careful for extra damage on Dazzling Gleam if Audinite is used.

Defensive Spiker

252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe Impish Nature

96 Speed EVs let Garbodor outrun neutral-natured fully invested base 55 Speed Pokemon, such as Exeggutor and Cacturne. 136 Speed EVs, however, can be used to outpace Adamant Pawniard. Maximum HP investment gives Garbodor stronger bulk. The remaining EVs are put into Defense with an Impish nature allowing Garbodor to better punish users of physical contact moves, such as Scyther and Sawk.

Offensive Spiker

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant / Jolly Nature

Maximum Attack and Speed EVs allow Garbodor to outspeed a lot of Pokemon and hit them harder. An Adamant nature allows Garbodor to hit Pokemon such as Xatu and Rhydon a lot harder than it could with a Jolly nature; however, a Jolly nature can help Garbodor outspeed Pokemon such as Adamant Sawk, Modest or Mild Magmortar, and neutral-natured Mesprit. A Jolly nature also needs to be used with Explosion to outspeed Modest maximum Speed Claydol and block its Rapid Spin.

Offensive Rapid Spin / Swords Dance

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant / Jolly Nature

A Jolly nature and maximum Speed investment let Kabutops outspeed as many threats as possible, notably all variants of Ludicolo in the rain, and Adamant Kangaskhan, Sawk, and Zangoose outside of the rain. However, an Adamant nature is a viable option if outspeeding those Pokemon is not a concern, as it gives Kabutops a significant boost in power. Maximum Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible.

Physical Attacker

4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant / Jolly Nature

An Adamant nature gives Kangaskhan an Attack boost. Alternatively, a Jolly nature can be used to increase Kangaskhan's Speed; however, the difference in power is noticeable.

Assault Vest

160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe Adamant Nature

160 HP EVs let Kangaskhan survive two Fire Blasts from Life Orb Pyroar. 252 Attack EVs maximize damage output, while 96 Speed EVs allow Kangaskhan to outspeed max Speed base 70 Pokemon.

Supportive Pivot

104 HP / 156 Def / 208 SpD / 40 Spe Calm Nature

Proportionally low Special Defense compared to its HP means that Special Defense investment should be prioritized over HP. 208 Special Defense EVs would hit the highest jump point in Special Defense, while 104 HP EVs hit a Leftovers number for the most efficient HP recovery. 40 Speed EVs allow Lanturn to outrun Adamant Rock Polish Rhydon before the boost, allowing to KO Rhydon and avoid a fatal Earthquake. 16 Special Attack EVs can even be used to guarantee the OHKO on said Rhydon, if it is truly a bothersome threat to the team. The remaining EVs are poured into Defense, giving Lanturn effective mixed bulk and allowing it to better take hits from Fletchinder and Klinklang.

Offensive Tank

252 SpA / 204 SpD / 52 Spe Modest Nature

Maximum Special Attack investment and a Modest nature give Lanturn's attacks a much-needed punch. 52 Speed EVs allow Lanturn to outspeed Malamar, letting Lanturn get chip damage on it with Volt Switch without having to eat a Superpower, while keeping ahead of Mantine. Proportionally low Special Defense compared to its HP means that Special Defense investment should be prioritized over HP; thus, the remaining EVs are dumped into Special Defense.

Choice Specs

252 SpA / 72 SpD / 184 Spe Modest Nature

Maximum Special Attack investment, a Modest nature, and a Choice Specs maximize Lanturn's damage output. 184 Speed EVs allow Lanturn to outspeed everything up to neutral-natured base 58 Speed Pokemon, namely Aurorus, Torterra, Golurk, Exeggutor, and Cacturne, and OHKO them. Proportionally low Special Defense compared to its HP means that Special Defense investment should be prioritized over HP, so the remaining EVs are dumped into Special Defense.

Quiver Dance / Choice Scarf

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

252 EVs in Special Attack and Speed are used to maximize Lilligant's offensive prowess. A Timid nature is needed to outpace threats such as positive natured Sawk and Mesprit before a boost, and to Speed tie with Pokemon such as Kangaskhan and Zangoose.

Wallbreaker

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature

The EVs and an Adamant nature maximize Attack and Speed. An alternative spread of 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Spe gives Mawile more bulk and lets it still outspeed Weezing, though Mawile's low defenses mean it doesn't take hits all that much better.

Tank

252 HP / 188 Def / 64 SpD / 4 Spe Impish Nature

The HP and Special Defense EVs let Mawile always avoid the 2HKO from Life Orb Jynx's Ice Beam after Stealth Rock, but the Special Defense EVs can be moved to Defense if Jynx isn't a concern. 4 Speed EVs are important to Taunt Mega Audino before it can set up or use Rest. The rest of the EVs and an Impish nature further increase Mawile's Defense, which along with Intimidate give Mawile the bulk to check many physical attackers.

Life Orb Attacker

252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Modest or Timid Nature

The given EV spread maximizes Mesprit's Speed and offensive presence. A Modest nature gives a significant boost in power, notably allowing Mesprit to 2HKO non-Mega Audino with Psyshock 70% of the time after Stealth Rock damage. However, a Timid nature allows Mesprit to outspeed opposing neutral-natured Mesprit, Adamant Zangoose, and Adamant Kangaskhan.

Stealth Rocker

92 HP / 252 SpA / 164 Timid Nature

The given EV spread with a Timid nature maximizes Mesprit's offensive presence while allowing it to outspeed neutral-natured base 80 Speed Pokemon such as opposing Mesprit. Another EV spread of 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe with a Modest nature can be used to outspeed neutral-natured base 70 Speed Pokemon such as Samurott and Ludicolo. You can use maximum Special Attack and Speed investment as well, but the extra bulk is often very helpful for taking general hits for example Carracosta’s Scald, or even Kangaskhan’s Fake out

Choice Scarf (Physical)

252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Adamant Nature

The standard offensive spread of maximum Attack and maximum Speed is used. An Adamant nature is used to give Mesprit a higher Attack stat, as Choice Scarf already allows Mesprit to outspeed most relevant threats.

Choice Scarf (Special / Mixed)

252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid or Modest Nature

Maximum Speed and Special Attack investment gives Mesprit the ability to outpace a good portion of the tier with Choice Scarf and still hit relatively hard. Thanks to Choice Scarf, Mesprit acts as a great revenge killer, outpacing fast threats such as Swellow and Archeops. A Timid nature allows Mesprit to outpace threats with Speed boosts such as Chlorophyll Exeggutor, Shell Smash Crustle, Rock Polish Rhydon, and neutral-natured Choice Scarf Sawk and Lilligant; however, a Modest nature can be used if more power is desired.

Choice Band / Choice Scarf

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant or Jolly Nature

Maximum Attack and Speed investment with an Adamant nature takes advantage of Sawk's solid Speed tier and great base Attack. Sawk can also run a Jolly nature to outspeed certain Pokemon such as positive-natured Mesprit and neutral-natured Kangaskhan and Zangoose, but the drop in power is considerable.

Defensive Utility / Dual Screens / Weather Setter

252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Relaxed or Bold Nature

Maximum HP and Defense EVs let Uxie take as many physical hits as possible. A Relaxed nature further increases Uxie's Defense, allows for slower U-turns, and doesn't decrease the power of either of its attacks. Alternatively, a spread of 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD with a Sassy nature can be used to let Uxie take as many special hits as possible.

Substitute + Calm Mind

184 HP / 64 Def / 36 SpA / 224 Spe Timid Nature

184 HP EVs and 64 Defense EVs let Uxie's Substitute take a Knock Off from Audino and Gyro Ball from Ferroseed without breaking, while also providing a Leftovers number. 224 Speed EVs with a Timid nature let Uxie outspeed max Speed Rotom and other base 90 Speed Pokemon. 36 Special Attack EVs give Uxie the ability to 2HKO Gurdurr after Rocks at +1. Alternatively, you can run 184 HP / 48 Def / 100 SpA / 176 Speed with a Timid nature can be used so that Uxie can outspeed and OHKO Jolly Choice Band Sawk at +1 with Psyshock, while still preventing Audino from breaking Uxie's Substitute with Knock Off.

Pivot / Calm Mind

252 HP / 176 Def / 80 Spe Timid Nature

A spread of 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 Spe with a Timid nature gives Xatu some much-needed physical bulk to take on both Fighting-types and physically oriented entry hazard setters, and allows it to outspeed Adamant Gallade and Adamant Sawk. An alternate spread of 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe keeps Xatu as bulky as possible, while 56 Speed EVs with a Bold nature allow Xatu to outspeed neutral-natured base 70 Speed Pokemon such as Mantine, Samurott, and Ludicolo.

A Rank
Shell Smash

4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant or Jolly Nature

Maximized Attack and Speed investment is used to allow Carracosta to sweep opponents with relative ease. An Adamant nature with a Life Orb and Shell Smash gives Carracosta a chance to potentially OHKO Weezing after Stealth Rock. Alternatively, a Jolly nature may be used to spike Carracosta's Speed, allowing it to outspeed priority users such as Liepard after a Shell Smash and nail it with its own priority Aqua Jet.

Defensive

252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Relaxed Nature

Carracosta will need maximum HP and Defense investment to tank attacks from opponents while it sets up Stealth Rock. Relaxed nature works perfectly to strengthen Carracosta's Defense as well.

Swords Dance

112 HP / 252 Atk / 144 Spe Adamant Nature

Maximum Attack EVs and an Adamant nature allow Fletchinder to hit as hard as possible. The given Speed EVs enable Fletchinder to outspeed neutral base 70 Speed Pokemon, most notably being able to hit Swords Dance Samurott before it uses Aqua Jet. The rest of the EVs go into HP to give Fletchinder a little more bulk and to reach an odd HP number so that it is able to switch into Stealth Rock twice, provided that it hasn't taken any damage previously.

Bulk Up

252 HP / 136 Atk / 64 Def / 56 SpD Adamant Nature

Maximum HP investment to make Gurdurr as bulky as possible. Enough Defensive investment so that it hits a jump point in defence, allowing it to easier check assorted pokemon like Klinklang. 56 SpD is also a jump point, and allows it to tank random special coverage moves easier, like Cacturne’s Giga Drain easier. The rest of the EVs and Nature is invested into Attack so Gurdurr can hit as hard as possible whilst maintaining its excellent bulk.

Shift Gear

136 HP / 252 Atk / 120 Spe Adamant Nature

Max Attack investment helps Klinklang be the most potent threat possible. Adamant simply increases the Attack boost from Shift Gear. 120 Speed EVs are enough to outspeed Choice Scarf base 100 Pokemon after a Shift Gear boost, allowing for more investment in HP. An alternate EV spread of 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe can be used to outspeed Adamant Sawk before boosts.

Rain Dance Sweeper

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest or Timid Nature

The EV spread maximizes Ludicolo's Special Attack and Speed, making it hit as hard and as fast as possible. A Modest nature allows Ludicolo to 2HKO Lickilicky and Assault Vest Hariyama in rain after Stealth Rock. A Timid nature, however, can be used to outspeed Choice Scarf users such as Scyther and Pyroar under rain.

Assault Vest

104 HP / 252 SpA / 152 Spe Modest Nature

The given EV spread allows Magmortar to hit as hard as possible and outrun everything up to and including neutral-natured base 70 Speed Pokemon such as Ludicolo. The remaining 104 EVs are invested in HP to give Magmortar some additional bulk.

Mixed Attacker

4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Mild Nature

Maximum Special Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible, and maximum Speed investment is used to outspeed base 80 Pokemon. A Mild nature is chosen to bolster Magmortar's Special Attack while not taking away from Earthquake's damage output and preserve Magmortar's better defense stat.A Hasty nature is an option to outspeed Adamant Sawk, Timid Mesprit, and opposing Magmortar.

Restalk Sweeper

252 HP / 184 SpD / 72 Spe Careful Nature

By maxing out Special Defense, combined with Superpower boosts and Rest, Malamar becomes incredibly difficult to KO, especially for slower teams that don't hit as hard. 72 Speed EVs allow Malamar to outspeed Max Speed Neutral natured Based 55s, such as Mawile, often meaning you can use them for setup fodder, whilst maintaining maximum special defense.

Three Attacks

248 HP / 148 SpD / 112 Spe Careful Nature

The given EV spread allows Malamar's Substitutes to survive weak moves from the likes of Weezing, Vileplume that lack Moonblast, Seismitoad, Mantine, Poliwrath, and Ferroseed. However, if Rest is chosen over Substitute, a simple spread of 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe with an Adamant nature is the most effective, as Malamar no longer needs to worry about having its Substitutes survive weak attacks, and maximum Speed investment allows it to outspeed the common Calm Mind Xatu set as well as maximum base 70 Speed Pokemon.

Calm Mind/ Pivot

240 HP / 252 Def / 16 SpD Bold Nature

The given EV spread and a Bold nature maximize Musharna's physical bulk and hit a Leftovers number in HP. Alternatively, a specially defensive spread of 240 HP / 16 Def / 252 SpD with a Calm nature can be used to allow Musharna to set up or pivot on powerful special attackers such as Magmortar.

Special Attacker / Choice Scarf

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

Special Attack and Speed are maximized to make the most of Pyroar's offensive capabilities; the leftover EVs are put into Defense to reduce Stealth Rock damage.

Special Attacker

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest or Rash Nature

A Modest or Rash nature is chosen because the power is greatly appreciated over Speed, especially because Samurott's Speed tier is not particularly relevant. Rash is chosen over Mild because Samurott's Defense stat is substantially greater than its Special Defense stat and maintaining it allows Samurott to take priority moves better. The 4 leftover EVs can be moved into Attack if a physical move is used. When Samurott has under a third of its health, it can fire off a Torrent-boosted Hydro Pump that can easily 2HKO any Pokemon that does not resist it. Maximum Speed and Special Attack investment grant Samurott great offensive potential.

Swords Dance

120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe Adamant Nature

The EV spread allows Samurott to outspeed neutral-natured base 55 Speed Pokemon such as Exeggutor and Golurk, while maximizing Samurott's Attack to hit as hard as possible. An Adamant nature is chosen for raw power. The rest is invested into bulk for more setup oppurtuinities.

Swords Dance

248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Full Speed investment and a Jolly nature allow Scyther to outspeed most of the metagame, which aids in gaining momentum early-game and sweeping late-game. 48 HP EVs further augment Scyther's bulk while also giving it an odd HP number, letting it switch into Stealth Rock three times. A more offensive spread of 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe is also an option, offering more immediate power early-game and maximizing Scyther's damage output.

Choice Band / Choice Scarf

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Maximizing Speed with 252 EVs and a Jolly nature allows Scyther to outpace most of the metagame.Fully investing in its Attack takes as much advantage of the Choice boost as possible. The remaining 4 EVs are either used in Defense or Special Defense, leaving Scyther with an odd HP number, which allows it to switch into Stealth Rock two times.

Choice Band / Rock Polish

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant or Jolly Nature

Maximum Attack investment and an Adamant nature are used to hit as hard as possible. Maximum Speed investment lets Torterra outspeed as many threats as possible, and a Jolly nature can also be used to outspeed Adamant Pawniard.

Tank

252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Adamant Nature

Maximum HP investment capitalizes on Torterra's respectable bulk and type resistances. Maximum Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible. Alternatoveely, a physically defensive spread with an Impish nature can be used, but the lack of offensive presence is problematic.

A– Rank
Choice Specs / Rock Polish / Stealth Rocks

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid or Modest Nature

Maximum Special Attack EVs are used to hit as hard as possible. A Modest Nature is also used to increase this attacking strength, whilst not losing the capability of outspeeding many relevant pokemon.

Mixed Attacker

4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Rash Nature

Maximum Special Attack investment allows Cacturne to hit as hard as possible with its most reliable STAB moves. The investment allows 2HKOs on physical walls that are likely to switch in expecting a physical attacking set, such as Vileplume and Gourgeist. Water Absorb grants Cacturne free opportunities to switch in to most Water-types in the tier, such as Mantine, Lanturn, Prinplup, and Quagsire.

Swords Dance

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature

An Adamant nature adds a very noticeable boost in power, and because Cacturne is very reliant on Sucker Punch it's the preferred nature to go with. Maximum investment in Attack and Speed is used to boost Cacturne's offensive prowess.

Mixed Attacker

252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe Naïve Nature

Maximum Attack investment is used so Electivire can hit as powerfully as possible. The rest of the bulk of EVs are invested into speed so Electivire can outspeed several Pokemon including Positive Nature Mesprit, Adamant Sawk and Adamant Kangaskhan.

Offensive

252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Modest Nature

252 Special Attack EVs along with a Modest nature allow Exeggutor to hit as hard as possible, and 252 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed as many threats as possible. A Timid nature can be used to outspeed Adamant Golurk, defensive Garbodor, neutral-natured Aurorus, and Adamant Rampardos.

Lum- Rest

248 HP / 176 SpA / 84 Spe Modest Nature

248 HP EVs are used to make Exeggutor as bulky as possible, allowing it to tank attacks much more comfortably. 84 Speed EVs are used to outspeed base 65 Speed Pokemon, such as Roselia and Pelipper. The rest of the EVs are put into Special Attack with a Modest nature to make Exeggutor hit relatively hard.

Defensive

248 HP / 52 Def / 208 Spe Impish Nature

Maximum possible HP investment is used to make Gourgeist Small as bulky as possible. 208 Spe allows it to outspeed base Jolly Base 80 Speed Pokemon, Adamant Sawk, Adamant Kangaskhan and Adamant Zangoose. The rest of the EVs and nature is invested into Defense so it can take assorted hits from these Pokemon easier.

Special Attacker / Choice Scarf

252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature

4 Special Defense EVs mean that Jynx is left at an odd number of HP, ensuring it can switch into Stealth Rock five times. A Timid nature is essential; as Jynx is so frail, it certainly will not want to be taking a hit before it can act, so it is best that Jynx gets the jump on as many foes as possible.

Offensive Pivot

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

A Jolly nature makes the best use of Liepard's excellent Speed tier, allowing it to outspeed everything up to base 105s and hit them with Knock Off or U-turn. An Adamant nature is a possibility, allowing Liepard to still outspeed everything up to base 91s such as Rotom and Chatot, while still being able to hit many Pokemon that fall between those Speed tiers with Sucker Punch. However, this is mostly undesirable due to the unreliable nature of Sucker Punch.

Nasty Plot

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

Timid is the preferred nature, allowing Liepard to outspeed and reliably hit as many Pokemon as possible with Dark Pulse without having to rely on Copycat. However, a Modest nature is an option if threats falling between base 95 and 105 Speed aren't an issue.

Defensive

252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Relaxed Nature

252 EVs in both HP and Defense allow Quagsire to never be 2HKOed by Tauros's Life Orb-boosted Rock Climb after Stealth Rock damage and Leftovers recovery while also having a pretty good chance to not be 2HKOed after one layer of Spikes. A Relaxed nature lets Quagsire maintain a neutral nature in both attacking stats but lowers its Speed, which is largely irrelevant. An alternate spread of 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD can offer Quagsire some more special bulk while still avoiding a 2HKO from Kangaskhan, Archeops, and Hariyama.

Tank

252 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 196 SpD Impish Nature

The EV spread of 252 HP / 16 Def / 196 SpD and an Impish nature allow Regirock to survive Adamant Choice Band Sawk's Close Combat and avoid the 2HKO from Choice Specs Pyroar's Hidden Power Grass. The rest of the EVs are put into Attack for a better damage output. 44 Atk EVs is to allow regirock to hit as hard as possible. An alternative EV spread that can be used is 252 HP / 184 Atk / 16 Def / 52 SpD, but it sacrifices a lot of Regirock's ability to tank special hits.

Tank

252 HP / 16 Atk / 240 SpD Adamant Nature

The EV spread emphasizes mixed bulk and allows Rhydon to take on Electric-types such as Rotom and Rotom-S as well as mixed attackers such as Archeops. An Adamant nature and 16 Attack EVs give Rhydon some extra power by hitting a jump point in Attack, allowing it to deal major damage to most offensive Pokemon. A more offensive spread of 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD is also viable, but Rhydon is strong enough without heavy investment in Attack and usually prefers the extra bulk.

Dual Dance

4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant Nature

Maximum Speed allows +2 Rhydon to outspeed everything up to positive natured base 110 Speed Pokemon, including Tauros and Archeops, as well as uninvested base 70s such as Mantine before a boost. Sets without Rock Polish can run a spread of 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe to outrun neutral nature max Speed base 70 Speed Pokemon at +1 (Sticky Web) as well as uninvested base 60 Speed Pokemon such as Pawniard and Tangela.

Choice Scarf / Choice Specs

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

The listed EVs maximize Rotom's offensive capability. A Timid nature is chosen to allow Rotom to make full use of its Speed stat; a Modest nature should not be used because it keeps Rotom from being able to outspeed some notable threats, including +1 Vivillon and Choice Scarf Sawk. With a Choice Scarf, Rotom is able to outspeed various Pokemon, including Choice Scarf Sawk, Choice Scarf Mesprit, and +2 Gorebyss, and either revenge kill them or cripple them with Will-O-Wisp.

Defensive

252 HP / 108 Def / 148 Spe Timid Nature

The allocated EVs and a Timid nature allow Rotom to outspeed Adamant Kangaskhan and still retain physical bulk. Speed investment can be moved into Defense should you want Rotom to have increased bulk, but outspeeding and burning Kangaskhan is important, as it can do massive damage with Double-Edge otherwise. Rotom can also run maximum Speed EVs to outpace Jolly Kangaskhan and Jolly Sawk, though Rotom's bulk is further compromised when doing so.

Choice Specs

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

hoice Specs and 252 Special Attack EVs increase Swellow's damage output to considerable levels. Fully invested Speed and a Timid nature allow Swellow to outspeed a huge part of the metagame. The remaining 4 EVs are used in either Defense or Special Defense in order to leave Swellow's HP as an odd number, allowing five switches into Stealth Rock.

Guts Attacker

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

A Jolly nature and 252 Speed EVs maximize Swellow's Speed, allowing it to outpace most of the metagame. Guts increases Swellow's Attack to considerable levels. 252 Attack EVs further augment Swellow's offensive presence. The 4 extra EVs are placed in either Defense or Special Defense, leaving Swellow's HP as an odd number and thus allowing it to take less damage from entry hazards.

B+ Rank
Stealth Rock Lead / Shell Smash

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly or Naïve Nature

Maximum Speed investment allows Barbaracle to outspeed everything up to Choice Scarf Pyroar, and maximum Attack investment lets Barbaracle deal as much damage as possible.

Offensive Spinner

4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature

Maximum Special Attack investment and a Modest nature allow Claydol to make the most of its coverage options. Maximum Speed investment allows Claydol to Speed tie offensive Garbodor. Using 216 Speed EVs is a fine alternative to outrun Jolly Rampardos, Samurott, and Ludicolo, allowing Claydol to threaten a KO or simply pull off a Rapid Spin before eating a fatal hit. 120 Speed EVs let Claydol outrun neutral-natured Aurorus while also keeping ahead of foes such as Mawile and most notably Jolly Crustle. Running 136 Speed EVs allows Claydol to outspeed Pawniard, although this is only really a good idea if Colbur Berry is used, as Sucker Punch would otherwise render Claydol's Speed advantage moot.

Defensive

248 HP / 148 Def / 112 SpD Relaxed or Impish Nature

The given EV spread increases Ferroseed's physical bulk and allows Ferroseed to avoid the 3HKO from Life Orb Samurott's Ice Beam. A Relaxed nature should be used with Gyro Ball to increase its power, but if Knock Off is being run, Impish should be used instead. A specially defensive spread is an alternative if the team needs a more reliable answer to specially offensive Water- and Grass-types, but this makes Ferroseed less effectively wall physical attackers such as Kangaskhan and Swords Dance Samurott.

Special Attacker

252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature

Maximum Speed EVs with a Timid nature are used to outspeed as many Pokemon as possible, allowing Floatzel to outspeed Archeops and Tauros while Speed tying with Sneasel. Maximum Special Attack EVs allow Floatzel to hit as hard as possible.

Bulk Up

252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Maximum Speed EVs with a Jolly nature are used to outspeed as many Pokemon as possible, notably allowing Floatzel to outspeed Archeops and Tauros while Speed tying with Sneasel. Maximum HP EVs increase its bulk and allow Floatzel to take more hits as it sets up Bulk Up.

Shell Smash

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

Maximum Speed investment and a Timid nature make Gorebyss as fast as possible in order to be able to sweep after a Shell Smash. Fast enough to outspeed Swellow and Choice Scarf Mesprit at +2. Full investment in Special Attack is used to maximize Gorebyss's offensive capabilities.

Defensive

252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature

An Impish nature along with maximum EVs invested into HP and Defense maximizes Granbull's defensive capabilities.

Bulky Attacker

252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Adamant Nature

Maximum investment in Attack and HP allows Granbull to hit as hard as possible while maintaining sufficient bulk to check Pokemon such as Kangaskhan and Sawk. An Adamant nature is used to boost its good Attack stat further.

Assault Vest

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD Adamant Nature

Maximum Attack investment allows Hariyama to hit as hard as possible, while maximum Special Defense investment adds more overall bulk on the special side than maximum HP investment would. It should also be noted that an alternative EV spread of 252 Atk / 128 Def / 128 SpD can be used to avoid the OHKO from Jolly Choice Band Sawk's Close Combat 100% of the time, as well as take a plethora of physical attacks better.

Choice Band

252 Atk / 116 Def / 140 Spe Adamant Nature

he given EV spread allows Hariyama to outpace everything up to uninvested Lanturn, which Hariyama can hit before it Volt Switches out. Maximum Attack investment and an Adamant nature allow Hariyama to take full advantage of the Guts boost and hit foes hard. The remaining 116 EVs are thrown into Defense to allow Hariyama to pivot into physical attackers with greater ease.

Choice Scarf / Life Orb / Sub Disable

252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature

Maximum Special Attack and Speed EVs are used to allow Haunter to hit as hard and as fast as possible.A Choice Scarf is the obvious item, as the goal of this set is to be a fast and reliable revenge killer. A Timid nature is needed for Haunter to keep up with some opposing Choice Scarf users, such as Rotom, and to Speed tie with other Choice Scarf users, such as Primeape and Jynx. A Timid nature allows Haunter to Speed tie with other base 95 Speed Pokemon such as Jynx and Leafeon if not running Choice Scarf.

Shell Smash

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature

Maximum Speed EVs allow Huntail to outrun everything up to Adamant Choice Scarf Sawk, including Swellow and Choice Scarf Mesprit and Maximum Attack allows it to hit its targets for the highest possible damage.

CoilPass

252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Impish Nature

Although it might seem more logical to invest in Special Defense because Coil boosts Defense, most special attackers, including some defensive walls, can still break Huntail's Substitutes even with the investment. For this reason, it is better to invest in Defense, enhancing Huntail's already good physical bulk and giving it more setup opportunities. For example, uninvested Garbodor can never break +1 Huntail's Substitute with Gunk Shot.

Offensive

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

Maximum Speed investment and a Timid nature is to Speed tie with opposing Pokemon with base 105 Speed or lower. Maximum Special Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible.

Stallbreaker

252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Spe Timid Nature

A Timid nature and 216 Speed EVs are used to outspeed positive-natured base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Ninetales, if Mismagius needs to get a hit off with Shadow Ball in a dire situation. This also allows Mismagius to outspeed the majority of boosting sweepers to Taunt them, stopping them from setting up. Maximum HP is used to take hits relatively well, and the remaining 40 EVs are put into Defense to take physical attacks better, especially from burned opponents.

Swords Dance

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature

Maximum investment in Attack is used to hit as hard as possible. A Jolly nature can help Pawniard outspeed Modest Samurott and Ludicolo, but Pawniard's Attack is fairly low compared to other sweepers, so an Adamant nature is required. A bulkier spread can be used, but maximum Speed investment allows Pawniard to outrun the large number of walls hovering around its Speed tier.

Tank

252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Adamant Nature

Maximum HP and Attack investment paired with Eviolite allows Piloswine to tank powerful attacks, set up Stealth Rock reliably, and deal solid damage to opposing Pokemon. An EV spread utilizing maximum HP and Defense EVs with an Impish nature can be used on more defensive teams, but in general Piloswine's moveset and stat distribution favor a tankier build.

Swords Dance / Choice Band

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Maximum Attack investment is used so that Pinsir can hit as hard as possible. Maximum Speed investment and a Jolly Nature are used so that Pinsir can outspeed a multitude of Pokemon around its speed tier, such as speed tieing with Positive Nature Mesprit, outspeeding Adamant Sawk and Kangaskhan as well as Zangoose

Defensive

252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Bold Nature

Maximum HP and Defense investment backed by Eviolite gives Prinplup the Defense to tank almost every physical attack in the tier, while also maintaining solid Special Defense. Prinplup's bulk allows it to use Defog against powerful attackers such as Sawk and Magmortar. An alternative EV spread utilizing maximum HP and maximum Special Defense investment with a Calm nature gives Prinplup a better matchup versus powerful special attackers such as Pyroar and Mesprit.

Offensive

236 HP / 48 Def / 224 SpA Modest Nature

224 Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature are used to make full use of Tangela's high Special Attack, increasing its damage output. 236 HP EVs along with 48 EVs in Defense make Tangela bulkier and allow it to tank a few physical hits, even strong ones such as Kabutops's Stone Edge, letting it avoid the 2HKO after Stealth Rock.

Defensive

252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA Bold Nature

252 EVs in HP along with maximum Defense investment and a Bold nature are needed to maximize and make use of Tangela's physical bulk.

Defensive

248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA Bold Nature

Maximum Defense investment is used with a Bold nature to capitalize on Weezing's high base Defense and plethora of resistances. 248 HP EVs are used to give Weezing an odd HP number, reducing the damage taken from Stealth Rock. An alternative set of 148 HP / 252 Def / 108 Spe Bold Nature can be used to outspeed malamar and taunt it whilst maintaining maximum physical bulk.

Quiver Dance / Endeavor

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

Timid is the preferred nature to let Vivillon outspeed the numerous Pokemon in the base 78-86 Speed range, such as Sawk and Rotom-S, the Choice Scarf variants of which are also outsped after a boost. Maximum Special Attack investment is used to hit as hard as possible.

All-Out Attacker

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant or Jolly Nature

Attack and Speed are fully invested into in order to maximize Zangoose's power, with an Adamant nature increasing that power further. A Jolly nature can alternatively be used to allow Zangoose to outspeed Adamant Kangaskhan and Jolly Sawk.

B Rank
Swords Dance / Choice Band

156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spe Adamant Nature

100 Speed EVs are used to outspeed Lanturn, with full Attack investment used to maximize Bouffalant's power, while the rest of the EVs are dumped into HP to enhance Bouffalant's great natural bulk.216 HP / 72 Atk / 220 SpD with a Careful nature is an alternative spread to provide an easier time setting up against defensive Pokemon, specifically Vileplume, which can never break Bouffalant's Substitute with Sludge Bomb when using this spread.

Hazard Setter

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Maximum Speed investment is needed, as this set's goal is to quickly set up as many entry hazards as possible. Maximum HP investment is an option on this set that allows Crustle to survive a Stone Edge from Choice Band Sawk, as well as a four-hit Rock Blast from maximum Attack Rhydon. However, moving 252 EVs from Attack to HP for this reason will cause Crustle to deal considerably less damage with Rock Blast to the likes of Pelipper, Armaldo, and Xatu.

Offensive Rapid Spin

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

The EV spread allows Cryogonal to hit as hard and outspeed as many Pokemon as possible, particularly base 100 Speed Pokemon.

Bulky Rapid Spin

240 HP / 212 Def / 56 SpD Calm Nature

40 HP EVs capitalize on Cryogonal's high Special Defense and hit a Leftovers number. 56 Special Defense EVs and a Calm nature further enhance Cryogonal's Special Defense, hitting a jump point and letting Cryogonal avoid the 2HKO from Modest Samurott's Hydro Pump. The rest of the EVs patch up Cryogonal's mediocre Defense, allowing it to take some priority hits if needed.

Choice Band / Stealth Rock / Rock Polish

4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant Nature

Maximum Attack investment and an Adamant nature gives Golurk its greatest wallbreaking potential. Maximum Speed investment allows Golurk to speedtie opposing neutral natured Golurk and Exeggutor, which are mutual threats, as well as to outrun slower Pokemon such as Mawile and various uninvested Pokemon such as Mantine and Malamar. Less speed can be run in exchange for more bulk; 148 Speed EVs allows Golurk to outspeed up to uninvested Malamar, with the remaining EVs dumped into HP.

Defensive

252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature

Maximum HP and Defensive investment allow Gourgeist to make the most of its strong defensive stat and wall Pokemon like Sawk or Kangaskhan easily coupled with its good variety of status moves and reliable recovery.

Life Orb Attacker

132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe Adamant Nature

The given EV spread allows Kecleon to outspeed uninvested base 55 Pokemon, such as Exeggutor and Golurk. Maximum investment in Attack allows Kecleon to hit as hard as possible, and the remaining EVs are put into Kecleon's HP to augment its natural special bulk.

Swords Dance

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Maximum Speed investment and a Jolly nature are used to outspeed any Pokemon below the base 95 Speed benchmark such as Lilligant and Sawk and also Speedtie with opposing base 95 Speed Pokemon such as Jynx and Uxie. Maximum Attack investment is used for as much damage output as possible.

Defensive

252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe Impish Nature

Maximum HP investment is used for as much bulk as possible as well as passing a lot of health to teammates with Wish. 56 Speed EVs ensure that Leafeon outspeeds neutral-natured base 70 Speed Pokemon such as Samurott and Ludicolo. The rest of the EVs are put into Defense to maximize Leafeon's physical bulk. A spread of 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 Spe is another option, which allows Leafeon to outspeed maximum Speed neutral-natured Kabutops. Finally, a spread of 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe allows Leafeon to outspeed Adamant maximum Speed Sawk, though it loses out on a lot of physical bulk.

Nasty Plot

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

The given EV spread and a Timid nature maximize Ninetales's power and Speed. Alternatively, a slightly bulkier spread of 112 HP / 252 SpA / 144 Spe hits a Leftovers number and lets Ninetales outspeed Timid Rotom-S, while a spread of 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe lets Ninetales outspeed positive-natured base 90 Speed Pokemon such as Lilligant and Kangaskhan.

Defensive

248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA Bold Nature

The EVs are standard, allowing Pelipper to withstand a good amount of physical hits before needing to use Roost. 248 HP EVs allows Pelipper to switch into Stealth Rock 5 Times without taking damage as opposed to 4 times only.

Special Attacker

96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe Modest Nature

Maximum Special Attack investment with a Modest nature and either Choice Specs or Life Orb significantly boosts Poliwrath's attacks and helps patch up its lackluster Special Attack. 160 Speed EVs allow Poliwrath to outspeed neutral-natured Aurorus, Rampardos, and Torterra, as well as neutral base 55 Speed Pokemon such as Exeggutor, Cacturne, and Golurk. The leftover EVs are placed into HP.

Physically Defensive

252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

Full investment in HP and Defense with a Relaxed nature allows Poliwrath to sponge hits from physical attackers such as Kangaskhan more easily, as well as halting the sweeps of the likes of Barbaracle and Rhydon. A Relaxed nature is used over Bold and Impish so as to not weaken Poliwrath's attacks, and the loss in Speed is rarely relevant.

Choice Scarf / Expert Belt

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature

252 Special Attack and 252 Speed EVs with a Timid nature provide Rotom-S with optimum power and Speed, notably allowing it to outspeed foes such as Sawk. hoice Scarf lets Rotom-S outspeed notable foes such as Leafeon, non-Choice Scarf Jynx, and Pyroar, which it cannot could not normally do.

Defensive

208 HP / 252 Def / 48 Spe Bold Nature

208 HP EVs give Rotom-S an odd number of HP, meaning that it will only lose 24% of its health from Stealth Rock damage. 252 Defense EVs and a Bold nature provide a hefty boost to Rotom-S's Defense and allow it Rotom-S to serve as a check to Fighting-types such as Sawk and Hariyama. 48 Speed EVs ensure that Rotom-S gets the jump on foes such as Pawniard, Adamant Golurk, Adamant Cacturne, and Adamant Torterra.

Tank

252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Bold Nature

Maximum HP and Defense EVs and a Bold nature let Stunfisk handle the Pokemon it checks and most physical attackers that can't hit it super effectively, notably letting it take Archeops's Earthquake and Scyther's U-turn better. A fully specially defensive spread, however, lets Stunfisk check special attackers, particularly Electric-types, significantly better.

Defensive

248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD Bold Nature

The given EVs and a Bold nature maximize physical bulk. 96 Special Defense EVs with a Calm nature can be used to let Vileplume survive +2 Life Orb-boosted Hidden Power Fire or Ice from Lilligant, which would otherwise be able to boost twice and KO Vileplume as it comes in and uses Sludge Bomb, even proceeding to sweep your team. Similarly, Vileplume can run a fully specially defensive spread to better wall Water-, Grass-, and Electric-types; however, this greatly detracts from its physical bulk, meaning you will need a better check for Fighting-types. If you run Moonblast, even minimal Special Attack investment gives Vileplume a higher chance to 3HKO Malamar, with 88 EVs specifically being needed to always do so.

Offensive

112 HP / 252 SpA / 144 Spe Modest Nature

252 Special Attack EVs and a Modest nature make Vileplume extremely powerful, 2HKOing a lot of the metagame. The Speed EVs allow Vileplume to make up for Hidden Power Fire's imperfect Speed IV and outspeed uninvested Lanturn. The remaining EVs are put into HP to make Vileplume as bulky as possible. You can invest more into HP if Lanturn isn't a concern. Alternatively, Vileplume can run even more Speed to outrun the likes of Claydol and Malamar.

B- Rank
Offensive

252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature

Maximum Speed and Special Attack EVs are used to make the most of Articuno’s good speed tier and special attack stats. Its coverage options are what makes it a strong offensive, wall breaking presence.

Offensive

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature

Max Attack and Speed investment allow Flareon to be more offensively threatening. Speed allows it to outspeed Rampardos, Golurk, Cacturne, Pawniard and Aurorus.

Specially Defensive

248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe Calm or Careful Nature

Maximum Special Defense allows Flareon to wall many dangerous special attackers in the tier, such as Mesprit and Mismagius. 248 HP EVs pumps up Flareon's bulk as well, but also helps Flareon better switch into entry hazards, as it takes less damage from Stealth Rock. Use a Calm nature with Lava Plume and a Careful nature with Flare Blitz.

Defensive Defog

248 HP / 228 Def / 16 SpD / 16 Spe Calm Nature

248 HP EVs give Mantine an odd HP number, allowing it to switch into Stealth Rock one more time than it could with an even number. 16 Special Defense EVs are used to hit a jump point in Special Defense amd 16 Speed EVs are used to outspeed Adamant Rhydon. The rest of the EVs are placed into Defense in order to take hits better from the likes of Sawk and Hariyama, while also giving excellent all-around bulk.248 HP / 172 Def / 88 SpD with a Calm nature can be used if you need a dedicated answer to Fire-types.

Offensive

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

A Jolly nature is used to outspeed all of the defensive Pokemon in the tier, as well as many offensive Pokemon such as Leavanny, Chatot, and Zangoose. Maximum attack is used to hit as hard as possible.

Lead / Wallbreaker

252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly or Adamant Nature

While a Jolly nature is not needed to outrun Crustle, maximum Speed investment is still favored to let Rampardos outrun as much as it possibly can, most notably Pawniard and positive-natured Exeggutor and Cacturne.

Utility

252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD Calm Nature

The given EV spread maximizes Roselia's ability to take most special attacks. A Calm nature is used to allow Roselia to take on special attacks even better.

Offensive Rapid Spin / Sand Sweeper

172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Spe Adamant Nature

84 Speed EVs allow Sandslash to outspeed everything up to uninvested base 75 Speed Pokemon out of sand, which include Garbodor and Seismitoad, and max base 120 Speed Pokemon, such as Sceptile, under sand support. Maximum Attack investment with an Adamant nature is for maximum power and also allows Sandslash to guarantee a 2HKO against Kangaskhan when unboosted, and an OHKO at +2. The rest of the EVs are put into HP for as much bulk as possible.

Defog

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

Maximum Speed investment with a Timid nature allows Swanna to outspeed the crowded base 90 and base 95 Speed tiers. 252 Special Attack EVs allow it to hit as hard as possible.

Quick Feet

4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Jolly Nature

252 EVs in Attack allow Ursaring to tear through certain defensive Pokemon such as Mesprit and Ferroseed easier, making it a force to be reckoned with. 252 EVs are placed in Speed alongside a Jolly nature, allowing Ursaring to outspeed base 106 Speed Pokemon such as Pyroar and Mismagius after the Quick Feet boost, and proceed to OHKO them with Facade and Crunch, respectively.

Offensive

252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Modest or Timid Nature

Maximum Special Attack EVs allow Vanilluxe to hit as hard as possible.

Maximum Speed EVs are used to outspeed as many Pokemon as possible.

Modest nature increases Vanilluxe's Special Attack significantly.

Timid nature is an alternative to outspeed neutral-nature Mesprit, Kabutops and Sawk.

- This is for the taunt set which is the best one, so it can outspeed malamar
EVs: 112 HP / 252 Atk / 144 Spe Adamant Nature
- You seem to be missing some evs here, it says 114 when you actually want 144 to outspeed samurott aqua jet
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature
- Add offensive calm mind on uxie since it is the best calm mind uxie set,

Also add jolly onto smash costa since it's better :]

The Assault Vest Kangaskhan spread is suboptimal for a few reasons. Foremost is that it doesn't technically always survive two Fire Blasts from Life Orb Pyoar:
252 SpA Life Orb Pyroar Fire Blast vs. 160 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Kangaskhan: 165-196 (42.1 - 50.1%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO

Second, because Assault Vest boosts SpDef, the more you have invested in SpDef, the more mileage you get out of your EVs.
252 SpA Life Orb Pyroar Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 96 SpD Assault Vest Kangaskhan: 148-175 (42.1 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

This gives you an extra 64 EVs to do with as you wish. I'd probably just toss them in HP for extra physical bulk because extra Speed is mostly unnecessary. For those too lazy to put these EVs together, the spread would be 64 HP / 252 Atk / 96 SpD / 96 Spe Adamant.

I've been running 72 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 180 Spe Modest on Mesprit. With Hidden Power Fire, you can't Speed tie with pretty much any other base 80 Speed Pokemon anyways, and there's not that much important between that range anyways. I do like the old Timid spread with bulk because outspeeding Adamant Gallade is really nice, but if you're running Hidden Power Fire and want the extra power from Modest, I'd go with this spread for both Stealth Rock and Life Orb.

I like running 248 HP / 196 Def / 64 SpD Relaxed on defensive Carracosta. Its physical bulk is already massive, so the slight loss in EVs there is mostly negligible, and in return, you always live a Hidden Power Grass from Flame Plate Pyroar. It also lets you take resisted special hits better in general, but that's specifically what the EVs do.

Mention running fewer Speed IVs on Musharna to get a slower Baton Pass against opposing Musharna.

Bump up the Speed EVs on SD Samurott up to 144. For only 8 more EVs, you outspeed Adamant Torterra. You can also run 160 Speed to outrun Modest Aurorus, but +2 Aqua Jet is a guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock with no boosting item and an 81% chance to OHKO without Stealth Rock if you're running Splash Plate.

I like 72 HP / 248 Atk / 188 Spe Adamant on Rock Polish Torterra. It has a lot of creep for Garbodor before a boost and outspeeds Modest Scarf Mesprit (as well as all the relevant unboosted tier) at +2.

56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Spe Jolly Rhydon outspeeds Jolly Sneasel at +2 and has a bit more bulk to take on stuff like Archeops, Tauros, and Kangaskhan early game. Adamant is unable to outspeed it at +2, so it's bad for now. If Sneasel gets banned, it will probably be ideal again because I believe you can only drop like 8 Speed EVs to outspeed Tauros at +2 with an Adamant nature, which at that point isn't really worth not tying with other Adamant Rhydon.

Max Speed Claydol seems really bad. You want some bulk to take on stuff like Rhydon and Fighting-types, and the extra Speed allows you to outspeed irrelevant stuff such as Adamant max Speed Malamar and Fletchinder which you don't need to outspeed because Acrobatics and Roost are going first anyways and a faster Will-O-Wisp or Swords Dance from Fletchinder rarely matters. The 40 HP / 248 SpA / 216 Spe Modest which has already been mentioned Claydol sounds best.

216 Speed Timid Mismagius is irrelevant now because our most significant base 100 is Dodrio. 248 HP / 84 Def / 176 Spe Timid is better now to outrun base 95s.

Gourgeist-Super should run at least a little bit of SpDef to live Tauros's Fire Blasts because it's one of the best Tauros answers in the tier. 244 HP / 156 Def / 108 SpD Impish always lives two neutral nature Life Orb Sheer Force Fire Blasts after Stealth Rock and Leftovers. If you're running Protect, you only need 60 SpD because you can switch in and click Protect for an extra round of Leftovers recovery. 16 SpD guarantees you live two Fire Blasts without Stealth Rock up. The spreads for those are 248 HP / 204 Def / 60 SpD Impish and 248 HP / 240 Def / 16 SpD Impish, respectively.

love making custom EV spreads 8)

Thank you soooo much for this thread, this will save me so manny questions and endless searches for those ev's on mons I hardly ever use...

Also, where is the sub punch ramp EV spread? People need to know!

Evs: 252 Hp / 16 Atk / 32 Def / 116 Sp. Def. / 96 Spe
This Rhydon set allows you to run a slow wallbreaker rhydon set whilst outspeed uninvested base 50 pokemon. Evs in defense are a niche to live sawk's CC from full with 1% even if it's banded.
