Strategy & Metagame Pokemon That Benefited From The Transition To ORAS

Hi. So Valmanway told me this is how to submit a smog article, and that the way to do so would be that I typed up the first paragraph to the smog article + a brief explanation. I hope I did this right e.e

So basically, my article is what the title states. It's not about mega evolutions, as you may think, but how some Pokemon such as Dragalge were gifted with new abilities such as Adaptability and such, and how it affected the metagame. So here is the first paragraph of the article:

The transition to Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire was most famous for introducing multiple Mega Evolutions. However, what people tend to overlook is how Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire introduced new move tutors, made move combinations legal, and introduced new hidden abilities to Pokemon who were once obscure to the competitive scene. This changed the metagame a lot. In fact, some Pokemon who simply just did not have that one trait that they needed to become amazing finally got it with the transition. For instance, Mega Gyarados lacked a powerful Dark-type STAB attack, forcing it to rely on either Bounce or Earthquake for coverage, or the weak Bite if it was forced to use a Dark-type STAB. However, with the transition into Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Mega Gyarados was gifted with the amazing move in Crunch, which gives it a great STAB combination and shot it to the top of the viability rankings. Without further ado, lets explore these new traits!

I'm not sure if I did this correctly right, so please tell me if there are any mistakes.

edit: boltsandbombers will be working on this with me

Just to give you a list of Pokemon that got new moves: Gunk Shot/Low Kick Greninja
High Jump Kick Lopunny
Knock Off + Superpower and Play Rough Absol becoming legal
Icicle Crash/Pursuit and Knock Off/Low Kick Weavile becoming legal
Drain Punch Chesnaught (Maybe you could mention Super Fang)
Elemental Punches, Superpower, and Knock Off Pangoro
Pain Split Zygarde? (I'm 50/50 on this, so feel free to ignore this one if you want.)
Stored Power Latias
Earth Power Diancie

These are a few things I've listed here, and even though I most likely missed a few other things, I feel that this is already enough to write an article. Other than that, I think this would be a fun read. Valentine TGMD TRC , what do you guys think?

Yeah, sounds like a good idea and the things valman listed covers most of it. I'm not sure how relevant low kick is on Greninja, though. Approved.

not yet. i'll get back to you once someone from the staff comes online, i have an issue to talk about.

Hi.

We like the idea, here's the thing: you and -clone- posted the same idea within minutes of each other. Would you be willing to work collaboratively?

The odds lol

Uh, the thing was, me and my friend (boltsandbombers, if necessary) were planning to work on this together as well. We could try to function as trio if needed. I'm fine with anything, just as long as it's fair to everyone.

Right? Ok, well I'll approve. If you could, please PM -Clone- to work out if/how you would like to split this among yourselves. He said he was willing to work together as well.

oh right maybe I should give people access to our workshop. In the meantime, have our standard reply for all new writers:

1) Get your stuff done on time. If there's ever a situation that comes up, talk with The Smog Staff, and we'll make accommodations. The key here is communication; we need to hear from you if something is up that will prevent you from meeting the deadline. Try to get your stuff done in two weeks if possible, in order to give the GP/HTML/art team time to get everything done.

2) Don't leak any of our stuff until the release happens. This includes art and any other information. If you ever want feedback on your work or have questions, you can join us in #thesmog on IRC (if you don't have IRC, you can PM me or another staffer on the forums and I'll give you a link).

If you need any help, please don't hesitate to ask The Smog Staff. When you post your thread in the Article Workshop, you need to set labels for it. You'll need to set the issue's number too. For the tags that say WIP, Grammar, etc, those are the stages your article are in. Since you'll ideally be working on the article after posting your thread, mark it as WIP. When you finish, move it to Grammar and get it checked twice by other people. Afterward is the HTML stage and someone will put it into HTML code. Your article will eventually get art done for it and it'll be complete!
Mysteria, link me the profile to your friend and I'll add him too.

Alright, cool. This is my first time doing this, so what i assume is i just post my article in WIP and gradually start filling it in?
