Rate of the Month
RotM is a project that looks to bring quality individual rates into the spotlight and recognise the hard work of unbadged raters.
  • Every month, official Team Raters will be monitor the rates posted in their respective tiers.
  • A few will be chosen that the RMT staff feel exemplify the qualities of an excellent rate.
  • These rates will be posted in this thread, along with a paragraph explaining why the particular rate won. This will allow aspiring raters to gain an idea of what constitutes high-quality rates, and hopefully incorporate those aspects into their own rates.
  • Official Team Raters are eligible to win, but unbadged raters will have priority.
Winners will earn a place in the Hall of Fame, which will be kept in the OP of every thread, and will earn more consideration for the Ladybug
and Team Rater
badges. Also, after gaining three places in the Hall of Fame, a rater will be eligible to earn voice status in the RMT room on PS! on the condition that they've shown an interest in getting involved.

We hope that this project will encourage people to put more effort into their rates and become better and more experienced raters, consequently increasing the quality of rates posted in the forum. Good luck to you all!

We have two winners this month and they're DragonKnightmaster and patlop2307. Congrats to them!

DKM starts off his rate by mentioning key issues of the team such as lacking a Steel-Type which means Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Alakazam are hard to deal with and lacking speed control which means the team cannot revenge kill the aforementioned threats and others. So, he replaces Tapu Koko with Heatran which provides a Steel-Type with amazing defensive utilities as it is a consistent check to Psychic Spam. Heatran also helps trap Toxapex, a Pokemon that can be annoying for the win condition of the team Mega Tyranitar and gives the team a new Stealth Rocker as well. He then makes an optional suggestion in changing Amonguss for Tapu Bulu which is a better check to common threats like Tapu Koko, Ash Greninja and Zygarde as well as providing Grassy Terrain which supports well both Heatran and Mega Tyranitar.

DKM wraps up with two minor changes. The first one is to make Lando-T a Bulky Choice Scarf set which gives the team the speed control it needed. He also suggests Punishment on it to help out against CM Users like Mega Latias and Reuniclus. Lastly, he makes Reuniclus Psychium Z instead of Leftovers to have a 100% chance of killing Hawlucha which can be a nuisance otherwise as well as taking less damages from Knock Off.

patlop starts off his rate by pointing out the main threats of the team too in Ash Greninja which can put in a lot of work if Ferrothorn is worn down, Stall as the team doesn't have good counterplays to that archetype and Zygarde which is pretty annoying especially the Sub sets. He decides to change Heatran for Tapu Fini, an underrated Pokemon at the moment which provides both hazard removal and a consistent check to Ash Greninja. His second change is to replace Ferrothorn with Magnezone which helps unbelievely Mega Beedrill by removing Celesteela, Skarmory and Ferrothorn, all of them being annoying for the wasp.

To finish his rate, he switches Greninja and Tapu Lele's items. He makes Greninja Choice Scarf with Spikes in order to make it a momentum gainer for the team and he makes Tapu Lele Psychium Z which is a great stallbreaker and patner for Mega Beedrill.

Keep it up as always
