Introduction

Welcome to the seventh iteration of Ruins of Alph Premier League!

The format of ROAPL will be 8 teams with 10 slots each (2x Gens 1-5 OU). Every matchup will be BO1, with the exception of RBY, which will be BO3. After 7 weeks of qualifying, the top four teams will advance to a seeded semifinals round, followed by a finals round to determine this year's champions.

As a reminder:
  • Managers and assistant managers will not be allowed to play.
  • Battles not completed before the deadline will either count as an activity win or a dead game.
  • Battles ending with a tie will be ignored. (first-to-3 wins in RBY OU, first-to-1-win in other tiers).
  • Teams will receive 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.

Too late now, and I don’t care enough to make a fuss, but based on the screenshots provided in our series aren’t the lineups wrong? If we both submitted the exact same way (BW working down to RBY) and we had Soulwind in the very top spot, wouldn’t he therefore be against Peng, who they had in the very top slot? If you turn both lineups upside-down it does not result in the pairings we got.

Because the interpretation is not based on the other pairing. The numbers are forcing it to be interpreted in the more intuitive ascending way, whereas the reverse of that, the descending way, was used as the default instead where numbers weren't present. It will more likely match the other pairing when the ascending way becomes the default though. You could do an interpretation based on the other pairing, but that is just making the rule more complicated than it needs to me, since it's easy to work out if you treat them separately anyway.
