I'm back.
[OVERVIEW]
Salamence's good overall stats aren't enough to save it from being an extremely mediocre Dragon Dance sweeper, leaving it heavily outclassed by the likes of Zygarde, Gyarados, and Mega Gyarados. Although its coverage is quite decent, it's still unable to handle certain defensive Pokemon depending on the chosen coverage move. Couple these negative traits with a weakness to Stealth Rock and an exploitable typing, and Salamence ends up falling flat in the OverUsed metagame.

[SET COMMENTS]
Salamence can attempt to use a Dragon Dance set, as after a boost it can utilize Flyinium Z to break past walls such as Clefable and Mega Latias. Salamence's biggest competition by far is Zygarde, and although the latter tends to struggle with Grass-types, Zygarde is almost always a better, more consistent set up sweeper due to its immense versatility, good coverage due to Thousand Arrows, and access to Extreme Speed to pick off weakened threats. Furthermore, Gyarados can fulfill the role of a Moxie sweeper to more success due to its better typing and special bulk. Overall, there are many alternatives to Salamence, so don't use it unless your team desperately needs its Speed tier.
