Slate 4: Hard Mode
from here on the combos will become more and more difficult to work around, so some extra creative liberties may be needed, both in type diversity and making sure the pokemon is cohesive.

Custom Elements: Germinate - This pokemon's Normal type moves become Grass type and have 1.2x power.
Description: give me the GOD DAMN GRASS TYPE (with fairy bundled in.) germinate-boosted hyper voice goes mad crazy as well as technician draining kiss, as well as it having victreebel-esque stats to get some usage out of its other moves, but it also ends up being this mon's downfall as its slower and frailer than you'd expect for its versatility. also pretty handy for the loads of water types that exist at the moment (except Calamander of course.)

same thing where i'm adding no relevant moves here and going to try and make everything justifiable. adding flavor moves if these win (prob adding voltergeist's tomorrow regardless)

Name: Dartoad
Type: Electric/Fairy
Abilities: Poison Heal / Unaware | Soundproof
Stats: 155/90/50/90/65/85 (535)
Viable Moves: Octolock, Scald, Ice Beam, Taunt, Earthquake, Discharge, Spikes, Protect, Soft-Boiled, Wish
Description: So I wanted to make a fat Electric-type to play into Discharge, but I can't make a Steel or Poison because of Poison Heal, a Water because we have a bunch already, and then I wanted Bug but Poison Heal locks you out of boots. We have no Fairies though. I feel like an Earthquake weakness kinda clashes with this having so many physically-oriented resists but it should be fine. Its special bulk rounds out to be just below Mew bulk and its physical bulk is a bit below Keldeo, but these abilities are REALLY strong so I had to do something. Stat spread has a really high HP but low defenses to justify Wish over Soft-Boiled on some teams, decent Speed is for Taunt, decent attacking stats let you justify Earthquake or Ice Beam to hit specific threats or Scald to be Scald. Still not sure if Wish will have a place, you almost always run Soft-Boiled on most Pokemon that get both anyways, but this is worth trying.

Name: Ferroll
Type: Normal
Viable Abilities: Scrappy / Run Away | Regenerator
Stats: 90/125/55/110/100/120 (600)
Viable Moves: Hyper Voice, Aura Sphere, Focus Blast, Sludge Bomb, Rapid Spin, Wicked Blow, Shell Side Arm, Ice Beam, Volt Switch
Description: Well all of these are naturally pretty suitable for an offensive pivot. Wicked Blow feels like the one big outlier as a physical move, and this is definitely another case where nobody's running Aura Sphere over Focus Blast whenever any Pokemon out there gets both. We can definitely both make Wicked Blow workable and Shell Side Arm have distinctive use over Sludge Bomb by just giving this a good Attack stat. Maaaaybe undertuned but it's getting late and I don't feel good please leave me alone I'll fix it tomorrow

Name: Varilump
Type: Grass/Ground
Viable Abilities: Technician / --- | Germinate
Stats: 80/130/100/140/60/30 (540)
Viable Moves: Strength Sap, Draining Kiss, Hyper Voice, Silk Trap, Apple Acid, Flip Turn, Aqua Jet, Diamond Storm, Earthquake
Description: So, uh...I don't actually think this one was too bad either. This is the third of three sets this slate where I disagree with a move someone threw into their sub, there's no way in hell this runs Silk Trap ever, but the rest seems semi-workable here. Grass feels mandatory and it's fairly awkward with the other types this could reasonably get from a defensive standpoint but it's really not that big a deal if we just make it a big mixed attacker. Slower breakers have run Strength Sap before, like think about Victreebel. Diamond Storm pairs naturally with STAB Earthquake and Grass/Ground also gives you a cool EdgeQuake resistance while lacking any deal-breaking physical weaknesses. Flip Turn, Aqua Jet, and Draining Kiss are decently suited to Technician for their own reasons. My only question mark is between Apple Acid and Hyper Voice, like Apple Acid is definitely better on Technician sets but I doubt it'll be easy to justify Hyper Voice unless you really just want a nuke button on something this runs. Maybe Hyper Voice / Draining Kiss / Flip Turn / Strength Sap? Dunno.

anaconja Set #1 & Tanny89k Set #2
Name: Neuroct (Neurology + Octopus)
Type: Psychic/Water
Viable Abilities: Poison Heal, Unaware
Flavor Abilities: Unnerve
Stats: 130 HP / 70 Atk / 70 Def / 95 SpA / 110 SpD / 60 Spe [BST: 535]
Viable Moves: Octolock, Scald, Ice Beam, Taunt, Earthquake, Discharge, Spikes, Protect, Soft-Boiled, Wish +Psychic, Psyshock
Flavor Moves: Confusion, Psybeam, Heart Stamp, Zen Headbutt, Water Gun, Water Pulse, Waterfall
Description: A special wall that can also function as a physical wall when invested thanks to its high HP stat. Its high HP stat also allows it to pass huge Wishes to support its teammates. It gets a Psychic typing to give more type diversity in the metagame, while also making it balanced since Psychic is a rather mediocre defensive typing though its Fighting resistance can definitely prove to be useful.

MegaFlareon Set #1 & zxgzxg Set #1
Name: Frocky (Freeze + Rocky Balboa)
Type: Ice/Fighting
Viable Abilities: Scrappy, Regenerator
Flavor Abilities: Snow Cloak
Stats: 85 HP / 45 Atk / 45 Def / 130 SpA / 95 Def / 120 Spe [BST: 520]
Viable Moves: Hyper Voice, Aura Sphere, Focus Blast, Sludge Bomb, Rapid Spin, Wicked Blow, Shell Side Arm, Ice Beam, Volt Switch
Flavor Moves: Powder Snow, Icy Wind, Hail, Karate Chop, Vital Throw, Low Sweep, Revenge, Rock Throw, Rock Slide
Description: A fast and powerful Ice-type with a fantastic secondary STAB, since Ice and Fighting complement each other really well offensively. I personally think that 130 SpA stat is powerful enough for it to choose Aura Sphere over Focus Blast to avoid the inaccuracy issues, especially when it gets STAB on Aura Sphere on this case. Good Poison-type moves in its moveset rounds out its coverage to hit would-be Fairy-type checks. Rapid Spin and Volt Switch lets it provide utility while synergizing well with its abilities. It is balanced by its low Defense stat and poor defensive typing, making it very vulnerable to physical scarfers and priority.

Th3Bak3r Set #2 & XenonHero126 Set #1
Name: Graveleaf (Gravel + Leaf)
Type: Grass/Rock
Viable Abilities: Germinate*, Technician
Flavor Abilities: Leaf Guard
Stats: 100 HP / 105 Atk / 70 Def / 105 SpA / 70 SpD / 70 Spe [BST: 520]
Viable Moves: Strength Sap, Draining Kiss, Hyper Voice, Silk Trap, Apple Acid, Flip Turn, Aqua Jet, Diamond Storm, Earthquake
Flavor Moves: Razor Leaf, Leafage, Absorb, Mega Drain, Rock Throw, Rock Slide
Custom Elements: Germinate - This pokemon's Normal type moves become Grass type and have 1.2x power.
Description: Graveleaf hinges on its unpredictability since its typing and movepool give it various options on the physical and special side of the spectrum. 100/70/70 bulk is actually good for a slow offensive Pokémon, especially when it gets Strength Sap to heal up and weaken the opponent's power. Special sets have the advantage of making use of Germinate to wallbreak with Hyper Voice while physical sets can have priority and pivoting, as well as a powerful STAB in Diamond Storm. It can also make use of Technician Razor Leaf to have a good physical Grass STAB move.

you have 48 hours to vote!

also, since the results of this slate will mark the halfway point of this mod's completion (for now?), I was looking to run a roomtour once the Gen 9 update and/or the Slate 3-4 mons are coded (hopefully both!), so be on the lookout for that! This will be an opportunity to test out the meta for necessary balance changes & to provide insight on what roles the remaining 12 mons need to fulfill.

Custom Elements: Germinate - This pokemon's Normal type moves become Grass type and have 1.2x power.
Description: give me the GOD DAMN GRASS TYPE (with fairy bundled in.) germinate-boosted hyper voice goes mad crazy as well as technician draining kiss, as well as it having victreebel-esque stats to get some usage out of its other moves, but it also ends up being this mon's downfall as its slower and frailer than you'd expect for its versatility. also pretty handy for the loads of water types that exist at the moment (except Calamander of course.)
the first slate with no same-slate type repeats!!

next slate will come tomorrow, and a roomtour hopefully soon!

Description: taking my best stab at this. acid spray pbond is pretty cool of an idea but combining it with short circuit is weird af because you dont want to make a second poison electric and energy ball is on the same set which competes for the water hitter. so i made a bug so you can lure in flyings, glare them, and hit them with short circuit. in theory.

Loginator Set #2 & Sigilyph Bro Set #2
Name: Toxicle (Toxic + Icicle)
Type: Ice/Poison
Viable Abilities: Ice Skate*, Bullying*
Flavor Abilities: Ice Body
Stats: 60 HP / 90 Atk / 70 Def / 90 SpA / 70 SpD / 140 Spe [BST: 520]
Viable Moves: Freeze-Dry, Ice Beam, Focus Blast, Rapid Spin, Calm Mind, Poison Jab, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Parting Shot, Ice Shard
Flavor Moves: Powder Snow, Hail, Poison Sting, Smog, Sludge, Mega Punch, Bite, Chip Away, Dynamic Punch
Custom Elements:
Ice Skate- Speed is raised by one stage after using an Ice-type move.
Bullying- Using a contact move on an opposing Pokémon has a 30% chance to inflict a taunt.
Description: Can work as a pivot, revenge killer or a special setup sweeper with Calm Mind. Its Speed is Uber-high but its other stats are middling and below the 100 threshold so it wouldn't be overbearing. Its high Speed lets it uae Parting Shot to its fullest potency, while making sure it cannot be revenge killed by scarfers after using an Ice move which is very useful on Calm Mind sets. 90 stats on both offenses can make it tricky for the opponent to face since it can go physical or special, with movepool complementing both sides.

Squawkerz Set #2 & zxgzxg Set #2
Name: Terragic (Terra + Magic)
Type: Psychic/Ground
Viable Abilities: Berserk, Loose Cannon*
Flavor Abilities: Steadfast
Stats: 73 HP / 84 Atk / 71 Def / 120 SpA / 86 SpD / 100 Spe [BST: 534]
Viable Moves: Boomburst, Psychic, Taunt, Shift Gear, Precipice Blades, Stone Edge, Stealth Rock, Shore Up
Flavor Moves: Confusion, Psybeam, Mud Slap, Mud Shot, Rock Throw, Rock Slide, Psych Up, Barrier, Power Trick, Power Swap, Zen Headbutt
Custom Elements: Loose Cannon- Moves increase in power by however much lower than 100% accuracy they are. Moves that can’t miss are unboosted.
Description: Can work as an offensive hazard setter, stallbreaker, or a physical set up sweeper. Special sets work well with its utility moves since it doesn't need to set up thanks to its high Special Attack. Despite having a rather average 84 Attack stat, its physical sets can be quite powerful since Loose Cannon boosts its inaccurate physical moves while also packing Shift Gear for a further boost.

Custom Elements:
Ice Skate- Speed is raised by one stage after using an Ice-type move.
Bullying- Using a contact move on an opposing Pokémon has a 30% chance to inflict a taunt.
Description: I might have the wrong idea about ice hockey. Could viably go either way, mainly making use of Ice Skate to boost its Speed to become more threatening, though Bullying can be used to prevent bulky mons from healing while you continue to chip them down.

Custom Elements:
Loose Cannon- Moves increase in power by however much lower than 100% accuracy they are. Moves that can’t miss are unboosted.
Description: More Grounds are always appreciated. Keeping its attacking stats low to balance the high BP of its STABs and coverage. High HP and decent bulk gives it ample set up opportunities, though its ability to sweep is hampered by its very slow speed, requiring major investment if it wants to outspeed anything at +2.

Custom Elements:
Short Circuit- 65 BP, 15 PP, 100% Accuracy, Physical, Electric, Double Power if target is Paralyzed.
Description: Fast Dark-type to spam Knock Off and U-turn, not giving it physical coverage for Grounds so that it's forced into mix-attacking sets in order to hit them. Parental Bond helps to patch up its mid offenses

Set #1
Ability: Inner Focus
Move 1: Glare
Move 2: Short Circuit - 65 BP, 15 PP, 100% Accuracy, Physical, Electric, Double Power if target is Paralyzed
Move 3: Knock Off
Move 4: U-Turn

Set #2
Ability: Sheer Force
Move 1: Slack Off
Move 2: Defog
Move 3: Focus Blast
Move 4: Fire Blast / Blizzard
I’m not sure if this is a typo, or you actually did roll my set 2 and accidentally grabbed the wrong one. In the event of the latter, I know people have been struggling with these sets being rather anti-synergistic, and my actual Set 2 holds a bit more synergy, at least overlapping the preferred attacking stat.

This is the correct pairing, I just made a typo while formatting the post. It should be fixed now. Sorry for the confusion!

Flavor Moves: wip
Custom Elements:
Ice Skate- Speed is raised by one stage after using an Ice-type move.
Bullying- Using a contact move on an opposing Pokémon has a 30% chance to inflict a taunt.

Description: i wanted this guy to have a shot at both a physical and a special set. Speed’s the most important stat as the first ability and name (blizzard + blistering) suggest, although its behaviour may vary (run away or bullying, some are less courageous i guess). It’s sort of an icy jock that you might find sliding down a mountain with its skateboard made of true ice or pulling pranks on unsuspecting climbers, that’s how i envision it.

having said that, from a competitive standpoint there are a few sets that you can run. It can’t stallbreak properly due to not having a proper stab + bullying move, but with rapid spin and coverage it can beat most ground type rockers with 30% chance to spin away their rocks and taunt them as well. It has acceptable bulk especially on the physical side even if uninvested. But I think the strongest set will be special with Calm Mind and Ice Skate giving it a solid chance to sweep teams when they’re weakened. At +1 there’s only a handful of faster Pokémon and its bulk allows it to stomach even super effective priority such as Bullet Punch with relative ease. Parting Shot seems to be a move that won’t fit on most sets in spite of its utility. Who knows if this guy can run a mixed set, now that I think of it. Substitute, Freeze-Dry, Fire Punch and Thunder Punch or something like that doesn’t look too shabby either.

Name: Eragon
Type: Dragon, Ground
Viable Abilities: Berserk, Loose Cannon*
Flavor Abilities: Big Pecks
Stats: 151/68/88/72/121/74 (BST: 574)
Viable Moves: Boomburst, Psychic, Taunt, Shift Gear, Precipice Blades, Stone Edge, Stealth Rock, Shore Up
Flavor Moves:
Custom Elements: Loose Cannon- Moves increase in power by however much lower than 100% accuracy they are. Moves that can’t miss are unboosted.
Description: I see this guy as a majestic snake dragon that lives in the depths of the world. More primal than Zygarde and not very much cobra-like, more similar to a worm if that makes sense (but with feathers on its sides? That’s why i gave it big pecks. But he can’t fly, nor would he ever go to the surface to try)

I know 151/121 as special bulk looks hella scary, but I think this is balanced. First of all it can attempt to sweep with Shift Gear, but even with STAB 68-attack-powered Precipice Blades is nothing alike Groudon, even with Loose Cannon boosting it. It’s not slow by any means and at +2 it can attempt to end the game if things are looking up for it, but edgequake has its resists in the tier and I think its niche will be another.

Aka wall! Stealth Rock & Shore Up allow it to both not be extremely passive and defeat common sweepers and wallbreakers alike. Even a physically defensive set isn’t that bad, considering 151/88 is more than respectable as for physical bulk.

What really scares me is the possibility of a special sweeper Berserk set. Considering its nigh-unbreakability and access to Boomburst that is a possibility, but it doesn’t have any STAB special move to abuse and has a measly 72 Special Attack, so I assume it’ll be fine. Still, Shore Up, Shift Gear and Berserk make for a great combination. Beware of this mon’s more offensive sets.

Pair #3
Name: Nerocable (Nerodia + Cable)
Type:

Abilities: Inner Focus / Parental Bond [HA]
Stats: 73 / 100 / 85 / 90 / 120 / 82 [550 BST]
Viable Moves: Acid Spray, Muddy Water, Brine, Switcheroo, Trick, Energy Ball, Glare, Short Circuit*, Knock Off, U-Turn
+ Aqua Tail
Flavor Moves: Aqua Cutter, Aqua Ring, Chilling Water, Dive, Rain Dance, Soak, Whirlpool, Charge, Electric Terrain, Electro Ball, Shock Wave, Spark, Thunder Fang, Thunder Wave, Zap Cannon, Gastro Acid, Poison Fang, Poison Tail, Toxic, Iron Tail, Body Slam, Bind, Constrict, Tail Whip, Endure, Facade, Helping Hand, Protect, Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Take Down, Tera Blast
Custom Elements: Short Circuit- 65 BP, 15 PP, 100% Accuracy, Physical, Electric, Double Power if target is Paralyzed.
Description: For the first set I went with water, given the real weak spot of the first set in this pairing would be Muddy Water & Brine. Outside of it being a STAB option, there are few other ways to justify running one of these two unreliable moves. I know some would opt Poison for Acid Spray, but the move is already leagues ahead the water moves, given it has fantastic utility in dropping your SpDef 4 stages, it’s threatening enough as is. From the second set the main options presented were Electric, Dark, and Bug, however given Knock Off and U-Turn can high value on any mon, even without STAB, it felt fitting to give Electric.
Overall this is a mon with mid defenses, but a strong defensive type, giving it some space to utilize its utility like Glare and Trick, of which opens up scary offensive opportunities like PBond boosted Short Circuit or inflicting -4 SpDef on PBond Acid Spray.

Will try to get to the others a bit later
