The sole trapper of SV Little Cup, Gothita uses its powerful ability Shadow Tag for a wide variety of purposes, including revenge killing, picking off specific targets, and crippling dangerous opposition with Trick. Using STAB Psychic, Tera Blast Fighting for Dark-types, especially Pawniard, and Thunderbolt for Water- and Flying-types like Wingull and Drifloon, Gothita is able to outspeed and remove several obstacles for its teammates, especially Poison- and Fighting-types, as well as revenge kill low-health key threats like Hisuian Voltorb. Trick rounds out the moveset, which, when combined with Shadow Tag, allows Gothita to both completely invalidate several setup sweepers like Crabrawler and Stockpile Numel, and lock opposing Pokemon into weak attacks or status moves, enabling a sweeper ally to set up for free. Maximum Special Attack and Speed with a Modest nature optimizes Gothita's ability to remove its targets.

Gothita is a great partner for setup sweepers. When teamed with them, the ability to remove specific problems can facilitate an easy sweep, such as removing a Foongus for a Tera Water Shellder. Due to Gothita's nature as a trapper which can pick its prey, it is impossible to counter in a traditional sense, though it dislikes Ghost-types for their immunity to Shadow Tag, making Pawniard a good teammate. Instead, the best way to save a Pokemon from Gothita is often to use Terastallization, especially into a Dark-, Steel-, or Ghost-type, with the former commonly used by Eviolite Shroodle and the latter by Foongus, which will allow these Pokemon to KO or escape Gothita at the cost of your Tera. Faster Choice Scarf users like Grookey are also a major threat, as well as opposing set-up sweepers like Numel, which can take advantage of Gothita's Choice lock and lack of firepower. Finally, Hisuian Voltorb is perhaps the ideal all-rounder teammate for Gothita, being strong, bulky, fast, and able to force many switches to Volt Switch right into Gothita for an easy trap.

The sole trapper of SV Little Cup, Gothita uses its powerful ability Shadow Tag for a wide variety of purposes, including revenge killing, picking off specific targets, and crippling dangerous opposition with Trick. Using STAB Psychic, Fighting Tera Blast Tera Blast Fighting (Formatting was recently changed) for Dark-types, especially Pawniard, and Thunderbolt for Water- and Flying-types, (Provide examples; Water-types aren't really that meta relevant rn) Gothita is able to outspeed and remove several obstacles for its teammates, including Mareanie, Foongus, Wingull or anything which has already taken sufficient chip damage. (This sentence needs to be rewritten to more accurately describe Gothita's role; Mareanie and Wingull aren't terribly relevant meta examples. Gothita is much more of a revenge killer against key threats like Hisuian Voltorb, as well as a Poison trapper) Trick rounds out the moveset, which when combined with Shadow Tag allows Gothita to both completely invalidate several set-up sweepers like Crabrawler and Stockpile Numel, and lock opposing Pokemon into weak attacks or status moves enabling a sweeper ally to set up for free. Maximum Special Attack and Speed with a Modest nature optimizes Gothita's ability to remove its targets.

Gothita is the greatest ally as well as the worst enemy to set-up sweepers. When teamed with them, the ability to remove specific problems can facilitate an easy sweep, such as removing a Foongus for a Tera Water Shellder. When against them, Gothita serves as a complete roadblock for some sweepers; for example, (AC) being able to come in and Trick a Crabrawler as it attempts to Bulk Up with little risk. (I'd personally use Stockpile Numel as the example here) Due to Gothita's nature as a trapper which can pick its prey, it is impossible to counter in a traditional sense, though it dislikes Ghost-types which are immune to Shadow Tag, making Pawniard a good teammate. Instead, the best way to save a Pokemon from Gothita is often to use Terastallization, especially into a Dark-, Steel-, or Ghost-type, which will allow you to kill or escape Gothita at the cost of your Tera. (Provide examples of mons that do this; e.g Foongus) (I would also add a sentence on faster Scarfers like Grookey that can rk it) Finally, Hisuian Voltorb is perhaps the ideal all-rounder teammate for Gothita, being strong, bulky, fast, and able to force many switches to Volt Switch right into Gothita for an easy trap.
