Film: Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
Genre: Action, Adventure, Thriller
Description: Though the hype was drowned out by the Barbenheimer phenomenon the following week (and many months before, honestly), Dead Reckoning Pt. 1 was an incredibly fun ride from start to finish. There are a lot of moving parts to the story but the plot remains easy to follow despite how quickly it moves. On top of that, there are some excellent action sequences that keep you constantly engaged and I personally had no idea the film was approaching 3 hrs. in length until my friend and I left and wondered why we were leaving the theatre so much later than we'd planned. The cast is great and I'm already looking forward to the 2nd part!

Film: Memento
Genre: Mystery, Thriller
Description: Finally crossed this classic off my list a few days ago. After seeing every other Nolan blockbuster it was a strange, but refreshing, change of pace to see a story unfold in his style with skips or twists in time but not as a result of a sci-fi or supernatural element. It's just a well-told mystery with a small, solid cast and an effective but understated reveal. I would tell you to go see it but I think I'm the last person watching movies to get around to seeing it.

I know the 1st episode only came out like last week but it was so good I had to post this! Can't wait for the rest of Season 1!!!

Description: This recent Netflix drop features an excellent cast led by one of my favourites, Benicio Del Toro. It's a multi-layered mystery thriller that plays with subtle tension very well. If I have a complaint, it's that the ending could have been longer, as I felt the bigger reveals could have been milked for more suspense, but that doesn't take away from the experience.

Description: In honour of tomorrow's Season 2 trailer drop, I bring you once again the Amazon Prime series Reacher! Based off the character and book series of the same name by Lee Child, and starring one of my favourites from his Blue Mountain State days - Alan Ritchson (Thad Castle himself!).

The series follows a military veteran/drifter who wanders into a small town and becomes the unfortunate suspect in a conspiracy that runs deeper than it first appears. I won't spoil too much about Season 1, other than to say it follows the events of the debut novel Killing Floor for any pre-show fans. Definitely worth your time!

Description: Despite the awful show name, this legal dramedy is actually thoughtfully written and very well cast. Almost all of the characters are compelling and the parallels between different elements in the show are done in a way that actually makes sense. Available to stream on Peacock and Netflix atm.

A really good show that flies under the radar. The comedy is on point and the characters are well done. Season 3 just ended today.
