Well, it does have Power Gem to hit Lugia and Ho-Oh with as another option. Not that it's good, but it's there.
Might be better with the Neuroforce boost. Rock is still a good offensive type and 80 base power isn't *terrible* (or you could use Stone Edge which I'm pretty sure Necrozma also gets). It also gets Earth Power and Flash Cannon for coverage.

Also, importantly, you transform it from a Necrozma that has already fused and it doesn't have any signature moves that we haven't seen the fused Necrozma using. That means it's more likely than not that Ultra Necrozma will be able to inherit Sunsteel Strike or Moongeist Beam for coverage too.

Archen: Once thought to be the ancestor of all bird Pokémon, some of the latest research suggests that may not be the case.
Cute reference to the archaeopteryx turning out to not be so special after all.

Buzzwole: Although it’s alien to this world and a danger here, it’s apparently a common organism in the world where it normally lives.
Xurkitree: Although it’s alien to this world and a danger here, it’s apparently a common organism in the world where it normally lives.
Guzzlord: Although it’s alien to this world and a danger here, it’s apparently a common organism in the world where it normally lives.
Guzzlord is actually common!?

So I'm guessing Dusk Mane Necrozma and as such Ultra Necrozma won't be inheriting some of Solgaleo's better physical coverage options?

No Flare Blitz or Wild Charge?

Not looking good for a physical set, even with SD.

hahaha Now I'm just imagining a bunch of Guzzlord sitting on a power line like they were pigeons XD

It still has Stone Edge, EQ, Knock Off, Sunsteel Strike, and Photon Geyser, so all is not lost :)

With its low speed, it only gets outsped by Shuckle - and Gyro Ball will be at its maximum power most of the time
Do we know 100% its getting Gyro Ball then? At first I was disappointed with UB Assembly's typing, but after seeing the stats, and just starting out in vgc, Im actually p hyped now. Rock typing giving it a nice stab Rock Slide off a base 131+ attack stat and Steel typing giving it easily the strongest Gyro Ball if it actually gets it, hitting max damage of base 150 anything hitting 96 speed or above (not base speed, actual speed) at level 50.

-1 252+ Atk Life Orb Stakataka Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Landorus-Therian: 133-157 (81 - 95.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Life Orb Stakataka Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Tapu Fini: 165-195 (93.2 - 110.1%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

252+ Atk Life Orb Stakataka Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Garchomp: 192-227 (104.3 - 123.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

It will probably end up like Kyurem White/Black : two mons with really good stats, but with a really lacking movepool.

If we conveniently forget its horrible defensive typing and the fact it will always move last... it actually hits much harder than one would normally think.

-1 252+ Atk Iron Plate Stakataka Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Landorus-Therian: 172-204 (45 - 53.4%) -- 89.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

A neutral attack, mind you.

Probably a cool option in Trick Room, but low-tier everywhere else.

FUN FACT: Iron Plate Gyro Ball hits Skarmory harder than unboosted Rock Slide. (0.3% weaker when both have the same boosts)

252+ Atk Iron Plate Stakataka Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 93-109 (27.9 - 32.7%) -- 87.2% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Stakataka Rock Slide vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 78-93 (23.4 - 27.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock

Which means a Choice Band Gyro Ball is practically everything it will ever need.

It gets both STABs (including Photon Geyser which will be useful as an inverted Psystrike) and EdgeQuake which is still decent. Ultra also gets Outrage. It has a shallow movepool, but what it has offers pretty good coverage.

It is assumed that you will have to use regular necrozma, use its signature Z move, which will transform him into ultra Necrozma
We know for sure that you need to be Necrozma fused with Solgaleo or Lunala to go Ultra, and I think it's looking likely that you simply have to hold the item, like Primals. You then have the option of using the Z-move afterwards -- the transformation is mentioned in the description of the item, not in the description of the Z-move.

Elgyem: It controls tremendous psychic power. Most reports of alien sightings are actually just people mistaking Elgyem for an alien.
Beheeyem: With its psychic powers, it rewrites its opponents’ memories. You, too, may have already had your memories rewritten.
Ayy lmaos were these guys all along. I wonder what else the government doesn't ell us.

Sylveon: Once a fight breaks out, it will unflinchingly charge at dragon Pokémon that are many times larger than itself.
*Sounds of repeated head-bashing echo throughout*

Based on that, whatever moves you can get your DM/DW Necro to have will transfer over soo...

Is no one going to talk about Wooper getting Power-Up Punch now?

The true sequel to Ice Punch Wooper...
It's clearly using its tail.

Ultra Necrozma should be fine in Ubers, even though it's stat spread is redonkulous. It's limited in coverage to Photon Geyser/Dragon Pulse/Heat Wave/Brick Break and can't break threats like Lugia, Ho-oh, Lunaala, Kyogre and most Arceus formes. This is assuming Necroforce mimics Expert Belt in function.

And the fusion formes aren't anywhere near as good as the originals. They are very similar to Hoopa-U. They have an awful speed tier (base 77 vs 97) and struggle with coverage. Dusk Wings still gets Heat Wave, but it still can't beat AV Magearna or Heatran. Lele revenges with Scarf and Suicune can set up on it. Dawn Mane gets EQ to beat Steels, but still struggles with Skarm, Ferro, Celesteela, Lando and Suicune. Both forms do get Rock Polish to fix the speed issue, so we'll have to see if that breaks them.
Ok, what about de 99% rest of the tier? Just because X pokemon resist Y pokemon doesn’t mean anything. Shedinja walls both acording to your logic.

170 Atk boosted expert belt boosted life orb SE hit against anything is still nuts regardless the BP of the move, and Ultra Necrozma has enough moves and stats to break past the mentioned, like Stone Edge and EQ.

Pedantic correction: Ultra Necrozma doesn't have free use of items -- it has to have its Z-Crystal.
