Unown only has two options: using Hidden Power and swapping out. Well, there is actually a third option: utilizing another Psychic-type such as Mesprit over Unown. Mesprit in particular has a lot more to offer than just a Choice Specs set, from Defensive Stealth Rock to Calm Mind + 3 Attacks, along with having actual stats to work with. This allows Mesprit to disguise what set it is from Team Preview, as opposed to Unown suffering from only having access to Hidden Power.

Unown has always been an absolute atrocity, but never has its fate been so bleak. This is because Unown's biggest competition, Mesprit, has been a metagame staple for so long and fully outclasses Unown due its wide movepool, fantastic all-around stats, general versatility, and overall splashability. Unown is extremely easy to check and its attacks even when Choice Specs-boosted only tickle anything that isn't hit super effectively. The writing is on the wall, Mesprit triumphs and Unown is left in ruins. (can this just be changed too "just use mesprit". like, not even joking lol. or put "this is completely outclassed by mesprit)
