[OVERVIEW]
Snow Warning allows Vanilluxe to power off extremely powerful Blizzards, which can quickly dismantle teams lacking a sturdy Steel-type such as Registeel. A decent Speed tier puts it above many metagame threats, particularly Mega Blastoise, as well as other Pokemon like Nidoqueen, Feraligatr, and Tyrantrum. Blizzard + Freeze-Dry + Hidden Power Fire allows Vanilluxe to hit the majority of the tier for at least neutral damage, only missing out on Fire-types. It also has utility in Taunt that lets it prevent walls like Bronzong from setting up entry hazards and priority in the form of Ice Shard that lets it remove Pokemon like Noivern more easily. Despite this, Vanilluxe fails to make headway against the plethora of teams running sturdy Steel-types such as Registeel and Bronzong. Even against bulky offense, Vanilluxe will struggle to make immediate progress, as it'll have to worry about getting through other Steel-types like Metagross, and its mediocre defenses combined with an abysmal defensive typing leaves it vulnerable to faster bulky offense staples such as Virizion and Salazzle. Vanilluxe's underwhelming Special Attack stat means that all of its attacks bar Blizzard will be lacking. Vanilluxe is also worn down quickly by residual damage, especially Stealth Rock due to its typing, and it struggles to switch into weak attacks because of its mediocre bulk and bad defensive typing.

Moves
========
Freeze-Dry lets Vanilluxe deal with Water-types like Milotic and Mega Blastoise. Ice Shard lets Vanilluxe take care of Pokemon like Zygarde-10% and Noivern as well as pick off weakened attackers like Virizion. Taunt improves Vanilluxe's matchup against defensive Steel-types like Registeel, which would otherwise come in for free and set up Stealth Rock or spread Toxic easily. Hidden Power Fire on Choice Specs sets lets Vanilluxe 2HKO Steel-types like Metagross and KO some of the more resilient ones after they've been worn down.
Set Details
========
A Hasty nature is important to outpace Nidoqueen, Mega Blastoise, and Feraligatr and is used over Timid to improve Ice Shard's damage output. Choice Specs gives Vanilluxe more immediate power, allowing it to consistently 2HKO Metagross, but Vanilluxe misses out on the freedom Icicle Plate has.
Usage Tips
========
Be cautious when clicking moves with Choice Specs, as being locked into a certain move can let Pokemon like Salazzle, Feraligatr, and Barbaracle set up for free. Make use of Taunt to prevent defensive Stealth Rock setters like Registeel and Bronzong from setting it up. Vanilluxe's mediocre bulk and awful defensive typing make it difficult to get it in freely, so make use of double switches and pivoting to give it turns.
Team Options
========
Vanilluxe struggles to get in due to a bad defensive typing and mediocre bulk, so pivots such as Tsareena and Noivern are great teammates to get it in. It also has a big weakness to Stealth Rock, so the aforementioned Tsareena as well as other entry hazard removers like Mega Blastoise and Mandibuzz are great teammates. Pokemon that deal with Vanilluxe's main weaknesses such as Toxicroak for Steel-types, Zygarde-10% for Fire-types, and Noivern for Fighting-types synergize well with Vanilluxe. Alolan Golem can be run alongside Vanilluxe to remove Steel-types, mainly Registeel and Bronzong, that Vanilluxe struggles with.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Water Pulse can be used on Choice Specs sets to hit Fire-types like Ninetales.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Virizion, Ninetales, and Salazzle all outpace and OHKO Vanilluxe, but Pokemon weak to Ice Shard have to watch out for it.
**Steel-types**: Registeel and Bronzong consistently wall Vanilluxe over entire games, and the more offensive Steel-types like Metagross and Escavalier can deal with it as well but have to be more wary of Hidden Power Fire.
**Fire-types**: Salazzle, Ninetales, and Arcanine all outpace and OHKO Vanilluxe and take barely any damage from Ice Shard.
**Fighting-types**: Faster Fighting-types such as Virizion, Toxicroak, and Sawk all outpace and OHKO Vanilluxe, and slower Fighting-types such as Assault Vest Machamp can handle it as well.
**Rock-types**: Both offensive and defensive Rock-types beat Vanilluxe; Lycanroc-D and Choice Scarf Tyrantrum remove it with their super effective STAB attacks, and Diancie beats it one-on-one.
**Walls**: Specially defensive walls such as Thick Fat Snorlax and Umbreon can switch into Vanilluxe, heal off any damage taken, and then remove it with their STAB attacks.
