Can't believe this, but I side w/ Pwnemon, how can you say something when you just joined O.o

Uh, well, I used to do stuff in 4th gen OU. Then 5th gen came along and killed my love for singles. So I went to VGC, which is where all my video game posting goes these days.

Somewhere in between I used to do RNG stuff, and I still assist people with that from time to time.

As time went on, I think I actually became less vocal on the forums. There are so many times where I've typed up a reply, thought twice about posting, and just hit the back button. I'm still active on various IRC channels though.

I was pretty much the same person as I am now, except I'd say I'm a lot calmer now by comparison (and by comparison only!). I was fourteen years old, spammed smilies even more than I do now, was far more into Japanese culture, was liable to get emotional at random much more frequently, and I'd say I was more outgoing than I am now. I definitely feel like I've gotten more withdrawn over the years. But I think I'm still recognisable as the person I was when I joined, although I was more innocent and good-natured then (I'm much less afraid to be sarcastic now).

When I joined, I was just learning competitive Pokémon and I was really enthusiastic about it. I was terrified of socialising on Shoddy chat and I really admired the regulars I saw because they were brave and popular enough to talk about whatever they wanted. I was still shy then, after all! I quickly got over it though, thanks to making friends with a few users who integrated me into the community, and spent all my time on Smogon University server chatting. :3

Also, due to my smiley spamming and the fact I used the name jumpluff on IRC (but not anywhere else), Aldaron mistook me for Shoddy user Jumpy Fluff and took a really strong loathing to me :x and I didn't really have any idea why, haha...

dam, I change a lot. Back 5 years ago, I was kid with some serious issues and was about a year through this bootcamp likeish school. I think I've matured since then and learned a lot

I've been here three years, which is pretty mental as I haven't done a lot in my time. I was a massive lurker, as you can tell by only having 200 or so posts in 3 years. I didn't have a lot of confidence to post, or didn't have a desire to post most of the time. Maybe it was because I did the obligatory dreadful rmt and aeroblacktyl basically shat all over it, which made me doubt any knowledge I thought I had.
Nevertheless, I've posted a lot more recently and about 75% of my posts were in 2012.

i uzed 2 tipe liek thiz all da time. Now I type properly and those kind of things. Like Bearsfan092 said I type up post all the time and just backspace it all, in fact I'm thinking of doing it to this one but this post has meaning so it shall stay.

I was a WiFidiot that was directed here after trying to trade with people on the Serebii Wifi chat. Apparently my pokemon had shit IVs, but I didn't even know what those were. Someone, I think it was like BlueMew### or something, told me that I had shit IVs so I asked him to explain and he pointed me to smogon. I don't think I've been on serebii chat since. I was an annoying user pestering people for BP after BP just to get some pokemon, I think a Dragonite, from StefyWefy which I never got. Eventually I got pretty good at breeding and actually became part of the wifi community. I'd like to think I'm a lot better than I was then.

I was pretty unremarkable when not posting one of these...

Now that I don't even animate this stuff anymore, I'm mostly a non-entity with an irrelevant name.

I missed the IRC boat early on, so never really forged any friendships until just a couple of years ago. I'm glad I did, despite generally being aloof as ever.

Ahahahahaha jumpy fluff, that brings back memories. Whole reason I joined smogon was because of shoddy and the clan that jumpy fluff was in.

I can completely understand how someone could dislike jumpy fluff. Pretty nice guy though.

When I first joined, I thought I was a pretty good poster and that I made informative posts, but apparently that wasn't case since reachzero infracted me twice.(I still think he was just being a jerk, but whatever) So I left smogon and didn't return for like two years to just leave again because I quit competitive battling.(I was never well known here, I made a name for myself on pe2k.com. Kevin Garret, Limitless, or Flareblitz might remember me from there, but that doesn't really matter now) I returned because of BW and plan on returning to competitive battling once BW2 comes out.

I'm pretty much the same, except a little bit more mature.

I joined a couple years before I actually posted. Too many rules.

Then some ass did something stupid and my first post was in the blacklist thread. Annnd we're off to a good start.

After that though, about 90% of my remaining posts were in RNG help threads and a few more in my own timer thread. Not sure where the rest went, but I'd like to think I've had a positive impact on the community. I don't post much anymore, but I'm definitely active in IRC.

Yes, I realize that last part wasn't really part of the question, but I felt the need to redeem myself.

k I'll just wait another 4 months for 2013 and post again.
Well, let's be honest, chances are you didn't radically change since you joined a month ago, whereas most posters in this thread have been a member of the community for over a year, many years even, so they've changed more dramatically and it's more interesting to look back on that. ^^;

Incidentally, I joined Smogon four years ago today. :)
