[SET COMMENTS]
Despite its mediocre Special Attack, Whimsicott is able to act as a decent wallbreaker and offensive pivot thanks to its great Speed and good movepool, which enable it to 2HKO a lot of threats in the tier, plus its typing allowing it to soft check the likes of Virizion and Mudsdale. Grass Knot is the preferred Grass-type attack because it is stronger than Energy Ball against most of their targets, including Mudsdale, Jellicent, and Steelix; Energy Ball is still an option, however, that is overall more consistent. Hurricane OHKOes Vileplume after some prior damage, pressures other Grass-types, and can 2HKO Charizard. Psychic is an alternative that still 2HKOes Vileplume and is stronger against other Poison-types, most notably OHKOing Salazzle. U-turn allows Whimsicott to act as a pivot, switching out of Steel- and Fire-types or special walls it can't beat. Chlorophyll is used to revenge kill sun sweepers such as Leafeon and Vileplume. Infiltrator can be used instead to help Whimsicott against dual screens and Substitute users.

Whimsicott pairs well with Pokemon that can take advantage of it luring in Fire- and Steel-types and pivoting out with U-turn, making the likes of Rhydon and Ninetales good partners. Ninetales is also able to set sun throughout the match, letting Whimsicott outspeed the entire tier and revenge kill threats it couldn't otherwise such as Salazzle and Choice Scarf users such as Indeedee and Passimian. Fighting-types such as Bewear, Passimian, and Toxicroak can benefit from Whimsicott baiting in Snorlax while also helping against Steel-types. Pokemon such as Rhydon, Jellicent, and Snorlax deal with Fire-types Whimsicott struggles with such as Salazzle and Charizard. Other offensive pivots such as Rotom, Silvally-Steel, and the aforementioned Passimian can form a VoltTurn core with Whimsicott, allowing them to keep offensive momentum and bring each other in safely.

move 3: Encore
move 4: Tailwind / Leech Seed
item: Leftovers
ability: Prankster
nature: Timid
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe

Whimsicott's typing, Speed, and ability in Prankster allow it to act as a fast bulky pivot that can check threats such as Virizion, Silvally-Dark, and Scrafty while providing utility to its teammates. U-turn lets it gain momentum and switch out against Pokemon it can't beat. This move also goes very well with Encore, as Whimsicott can get a free U-turn against a locked foe. Encore is used to punish Pokemon that use status moves, mainly those with setup moves, as well as to ensure Whimsicott can't be used as setup fodder itself. Tailwind is a useful support option that helps slower teammates threaten opposing teams more efficiently for some turns and can be used as an emergency button to prevent a sweep thanks to Prankster. Leech Seed is an alternative way to pressure the opposition in case the support from Tailwind isn't needed.

Since Whimsicott can lure in Fire- and Steel-types, it pairs well with Pokemon that can beat them such as Charizard and Rhydon. Wallbreakers such as Bewear, Ninetales, and Hitmonlee are great partners, as Whimsicott can bring them in against walls with U-turn and they appreciate Tailwind support. Similarly, setup sweepers such as Salazzle, Virizion, and Alolan Raichu appreciate the momentum Whimsicott can generate with U-turn and Encore, allowing them to set up more easily. Pivots such as Rotom, Vikavolt, and Silvally formes can create a VoltTurn core with Whimsicott, allowing them to preserve a lot of momentum throughout the match.

Grass Knot is the preferred Grass STAB as it allows Whimsicott to do more damage to most of its targets, including Mudsdale, Jellicent, and Steelix, Energy Ball is still an option, however, that is overall more consistent. Hurricane allows Whimsicott to OHKO Vileplume after some prior damage and 2HKO Centiskorch, while helping it beat most Grass-types in the tier more easily. Psychic is an alternative that still 2HKOes Vileplume as well as hit other Poison-types for more damage, most notably OHKOing Salazzle. U-turn allows Whimsicott to act as a pivot, switching out of Steel- and Fire-types or special walls it can't beat. Chlorophyll is used to revenge kill sun sweepers such as Leafeon and Vileplume. Infiltrator can be used instead to help it against dual screens and Substitute users. Life Orb can be used instead of Choice Specs to be able to switch moves while still being strong, but the loss in damage usually makes it not worth it.

Pokemon that can take advantage from Whimsicott bringing in and U-turning out of Fire- and Steel-types pair well with Whimsicott, making Centiskorch, Barraskewda, and Ninetales good partners. Ninetales is also able to set sun throughout the match, allowing Whimsicott to outspeed the entire tier and revenge kill threats it couldn't otherwise such as Barraskewda, Salazzle, and scarfers. Choice Scarf users such as Indeedee and Passimian. Fighting types such as Bewear, Passimian, and Toxicroak can benefit from Whimsicott bringing in Snorlax while also helping against Steel-types. Other offensive pivots such as Rotom, Silvally-Steel, and the aforementioned Passimian can form a VoltTurn core with Whimsicott, allowing them to keep offensive momentum and bring each other safely. things that can take on lazzle (jelli rhydon etc) need a mention here. they also do a good job taking on Fire-types, as the aforementioned offensive Pokemon can still get walloped by a zard/lazzle stab attack.

outta curiosity, would a non choiced set w/ lefties or pixie plate and utility in the last slot be considered for mention (either as a whole separate set, or a note somewhere in the write up?) i personally have found a lot of value in the utility that can be snuck in the last slot - or even last two slots, if you don't mind missing out on coverage - between stuff like stun spore, encore, taunt, knock, etc. that i figure it's worth mentioning. plus, switching from moonblast to cane/gk proves hugely useful in various matchups.

Implemented, I guess english comma rules still bug me a bit so I sometimes just end up instinctively going for it as it would work in portuguese, thanks for the check
